Book Charisma and Social Structure

Download or read book Charisma and Social Structure written by Raymond Trevor Bradley and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 1998 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author states in his preface, "Despite charisma’s growing importance, social science has made little progress in unraveling the enigma of charisma beyond that achieved by Max Weber over half a century ago. The results of the research reported in this book offer what I believe is a new and fruitful understanding of charisma." As Karl H. Pribram says in his Foreword,”Bradley comes off as a superb scientist.” Convinced that the common idea that charisma is mainly the leadership quality of an exceptional individual, Bradley believes that charisma occurs because of the nature and dynamics of certain groups. Much of his research is based on the study of communes in the 1970’s. The results of the research reported in this landmark book offer important insights into our understanding of charisma. The relational forms that provide charisma with its power for radical social transformation within a group, a hierarchy of communion and a hierarchy of power, are what account for the stability of charismatic groups. Evidence suggests a similar interrelationship holds for noncharismatic systems. This book is for sociologists and psychologists and also for researchers, political opinion makers, advertisers, managers and anyone interested in the invisible workings of human power, love and communication.

Book The Power of Charisma

Download or read book The Power of Charisma written by Dan Strutzel and published by Gildan Media LLC aka G&D Media. This book was released on 2018-10-09 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most everyone has something they are passionate about. But without the ability to actually effect change, things just stay the same. To truly inspire change, we must be able to explain the problem, inspire people to join us, and create a vision for the new reality that motivates others to take the actions that lead to lasting transformation. Inspiring change requires charisma—the ability to communicate a clear, visionary, and inspirational message that captivates and motivates an audience. Charisma, a social skill, like listening, can be learned. Once learned, it becomes the difference between being heard or ignored. Whether you’re the head of a company, a Girl Scout troop leader, or a freelance artist all alone in your studio, charisma can help you get what you want.

Book Charismatic to the Core

Download or read book Charismatic to the Core written by Nikki Owen and published by SRA Books. This book was released on 2015-09-10 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you charismatic enough to be a successful leader? You don’t have to shout or show off to be charismatic. Charisma is often seen as an intangible concept that unconsciously attracts a negative reaction in the world of business. There is a stereotypical image that a charismatic leader is a confident extrovert with a big personality. Even if charisma can be taught, (and many research papers indicate that you either have it or you don’t) the question is: how important is charisma for leadership success? Life puts layers onto individuals, much like paint. Year after year, more layers are added until you no longer know how deeply buried the authentic you is. It’s time to start celebrating the real you! In Charismatic to the Core, Nikki Owen strips away the unwanted layers and takes you back to your authentic self. It is a revelation, a rebirth, a realisation that life can be on your own terms. Your leadership impact can be whatever you desire it to be. When you are being true to who you really are at your core, your charisma shines through.

Download or read book Charisma and Myth written by Raphael Falco and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2011-10-20 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Charisma and Myth combines an interdisciplinary examination of myth with the newest developments in the application of charisma theory to history and social life. Through scores of examples ranging from Inuit myth to Christian theology, from Malinowski to martyrology, Charisma and Myth argues definitively that the survival of myth systems mirrors the survival of such charismatic groups as modern street gangs, the Anglo-Saxon comitatus, or Satan's fallen angels in Paradise Lost. Even the smallest charismatic group generates its own set of myths, and, like larger myth systems, depends on continual revolutionary change - not, as might be expected, on the stability of its myths - to survive and to achieve longevity. As this innovative study shows, group leaders must learn first to foster and then to manage the mild chaos and changing symbols of their myths. Charisma and Myth challenges myth theorists from the nineteenth through to the twenty-first century and adds a missing component to our understanding of how and why myths continue to grip our imaginations.

Book Commercialization of Hinterland and Dynamics of Class Caste and Gender in Rural India

Download or read book Commercialization of Hinterland and Dynamics of Class Caste and Gender in Rural India written by Supriya Singh and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2017-05-11 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a great deal of controversy and debate on land acquisition and transactions concerning the economic development of India, particularly the rural parts of the country. This book explicates, from a sociological perspective, the effect of increasing land transactions on social mobility, based on a detailed study of selected villages in Lucknow, India. It argues that villages in modern India, particularly those close to cities, are no longer simple and integrated communities, but are, rather, more heterogeneous, complex and mobile, as a result of urban expansion and globalization. It contextualises land transactions in a political economic model, describing in detail the differential relationship between land and the state from ancient times to the present day, noting the different laws relating to land and their implications for rural life.

Book Charismatic Leadership

Download or read book Charismatic Leadership written by Elesa Zehndorfer and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-08-11 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why is charisma so crucially important to today’s corporations? And how might its misuse have been responsible for bringing the world’s financial system crashing to its knees? Charismatic Leadership: The role of charisma in the global financial crisis provides a theory-driven and intuitively appealing analysis of the role that charisma played in the global financial crisis of 2008. It looks at how charismatic leadership can contribute to organizational effectiveness, but also considers the destructive potential of its darker side. It examines the role of charisma in fuelling investor irrationality, and the endogenous instability and boom-and-bust cycles that characterize the markets. This book unites both academic and practitioner-led approaches to produce a text that is at once stimulating and informative. Expert insights written by financial sector leaders in the ‘View from the Markets’ sections, alongside mini case studies and end-of-chapter questions, enable the reader to consolidate key theoretical points covered in each chapter. It will be of interest to advanced students and scholars in the fields of leadership and organizational studies, as well as professionals with a keen interest in this area.

Clearly, the world needs enterprises that are both economically efficient and
