Adicionalmente se aprende a realiza análisis melódicos y re armonizaciones bajo este recurso técnico. Módulo 4 Historia y estilos dentro del Jazz. En esta sección se hace un recorrido en la historia del Jazz, iniciando con el Blues de la post guerra americana, pasando por el Dixieland, el Swing, el Gypsy y el Jazz fusión entre otros estilos. Se trata por tanto de un LIBRO DE EJERCICIOS para desarrollar el trabajo técnico inicial del alumno de guitarra de jazz. Está orientado a conseguir el dominio de los elementos básicos del desarrollo melódico-armónico del discurso: escalas mayor y pentatónica, tríadas y cuatríadas de los principales acordes: mayor séptima, séptima de dominante, menor séptima, menor séptima (quinta disminuída) y séptima de dominante (novena bemol, trecena bemol). El control en tiempo real de improvisación de la ubicación de las funciones de estos acordes (notas del acorde y tensiones), en todo el registro del instrumento, se considera el elemento esencial en este nivel básico, y condición de posibilidad para un estudio organizado y progresivo de los posteriores elementos del lenguaje (patrones, etc...). En cada uno de capítulos del libro se aborda un elemento (escalas mayores, tríadas, cuatríadas, pentatónicas) en forma longitudinal, es decir, a lo largo del diapasón, en tres registros: grave, medio y agudo. Se emplean todos los tonos y las cinco formas (sistema CAGED). Se requieren conocimientos básicos del lemguaje y la armonía de jazz, y un conocimiento básico de la notación en pentagrama.
