Chapter 6 introduces ways to implement AI/ML systems on the edge and ways to deal with their training and inferencing procedures considering the limited resources available at the edge-nodes. Chapter 7 motivates the creation of a new orchestrator independent object model to descriptive objects (nodes, applications, etc.) and requirements (SLAs) for underlying edge platforms. To provide hands-on experience to students and step-by-step improve their technical capabilities, seven sets of Tutorials-and-Labs (TaLs) are also designed. Codes and Instructions for each TaL is provided on the book website, and accompanied by videos to facilitate their learning process.

Furthermore, there was a poster session on emerging research areas and case studies. The RAID 2009ProgramCommittee received59 full paper submissionsfrom all over the world. All submissions were carefully reviewed by independent - viewers on the basis of space, topic, technical assessment, and overall balance. The ?nal selection took place at the Program Committee meeting on May 21 in Oakland, California. In all, 17 papers were selected for presentation and p- lication in the conference proceedings. As a continued feature, the symposium accepted submissions for poster presentations which have been published as - tended abstracts, reporting early-stage research, demonstration of applications, or case studies. Thirty posters were submitted for a numerical review by an independent, three-person sub-committee of the Program Committee based on novelty, description, and evaluation. The sub-committee recommended the - ceptance of 16 of these posters for presentation and publication. The success of RAID 2009 depended on the joint e?ort of many people.

Previous conferences in this series were held in Japan (1983-1987), in Switzerland (1988), in the United Kingdom (1989), in Singapore (1990), and in the United States of America (1991). Future CG International conferences are planned in Switzerland (1993), in Australia (1994), and in the United Kingdom (1995). It has been the editor's dream to research the integration of computer graphics with computer vision through data structures. The conference the editor put together in Los Angeles in 1975 involving the UCLA and IEEE Computer Societies had to spell out these three areas explicitly in the conference title, "computer graphics," "pattern recognition" and "data structures," as well as in the title of the proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press. In 1985, the editor gave the name "visual computer" to machines having all the three functionalities as seen in the journal under that name from Springer. Finally, the research in integrating visual information processing has now reached reality as seen in this proceedings of CG International '92. Book excerpt: This paper addresses questions of quasi-isometric rigidity and classification for fundamental groups of finite graphs of groups, under the assumption that the Bass-Serre tree of the graph of groups has finite depth. The main example of a finite depth graph of groups is one whose vertex and edge groups are coarse Poincare duality groups. The main theorem says that, under certain hypotheses, if $\mathcal{G}$ is a finite graph of coarse Poincare duality groups, then any finitely generated group quasi-isometric to the fundamental group of $\mathcal{G}$ is also the fundamental group of a finite graph of coarse Poincare duality groups, and any quasi-isometry between two such groups must coarsely preserve the vertex and edge spaces of their Bass-Serre trees of spaces. Besides some simple normalization hypotheses, the main hypothesis is the ``crossing graph condition'', which is imposed on each vertex group $\mathcal{G}_v$ which is an $n$-dimensional coarse Poincare duality group for which every incident edge group has positive codimension: the crossing graph of $\mathcal{G}_v$ is a graph $\epsilon_v$ that describes the pattern in which the codimension 1 edge groups incident to $\mathcal{G}_v$ are crossed by other edge groups incident to $\mathcal{G}_v$, and the crossing graph condition requires that $\epsilon_v$ be connected or empty.
