Download or read book The Midnight Creeps written by Jeff Medeiros and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2021-03-25 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inside this book are written weird tales of the macabre and supernatural, and if you dare to read them, they just might take you to a place you wish not to go. You might find yourself in the mystical land of the Killerpillar. You might suffer the venomous sting of the gruesome Homunculus. You might find yourself shivering in an ancient chair you wish you had never sat down in, for you will find no comfort in those cushions, only the dreadful clutches of doom and a slithering through your soul slowly dragging you to madness. Ever wake up in a strange graveyard? Ever find some curious object and bring it home only to curse the day you found it? Well, the choice is yours. Take it home and read it if you dare, but don't claim you haven't been warned, for madness lurks in deep, dark holes, and evil lives where no man should go. The sliver moon peeks from behind drifting gray clouds, and you swear you saw a set of shining bright eyes watching you from the bushes. But never forget, it doesn't have to be the witching hour or even dark for the creeps to do what they goddamned do.
Download or read book Nothingness and Somethingness written by Marc Moderessi and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-02-11 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How could an ignorant, insane, inane, incapable creature talk about spiritual, immaterial, nonphysical sign that requires highly rational, intellectual, celestial, transcendental energy, which prerequisites delicate extramentality impressions beyond mundane entity? We have killed humanity in the name of humanity, it is to the end of its last breath, and it is useless to attempt to save it. The question in debate is much more serious, complicated, and also obvious than we have realized. It is not just the question of who, or what we are, but how we have come into this world, and how we have lived without given it real earnest thought. How do we present, draw, or paint a colorless, weightless, countless, faceless, and faultless space? There are always emptiness, void, cavity, darkness, ignorance in the air, clear sky craving for life, and crying for help. Space the only unique element, is everywhere, covering everything indiscriminately offering freedom, and democracy only to enslave all for its purpose to show its true face, feature, and fable. The exact example of perfect nothingness is where, nothing can be found, nor a being exits, but in form of ignorance within emptiness of self. Everything is continuation of nothingness extended everywhere forever, it is the beginning, and the end of all things considered. If intelligence does not learn what nothingness is, it never reaches to other end to see somethingness.

Download or read book Collected Fiction written by Irwin Shaw and published by Open Road Media. This book was released on 2017-10-03 with total page 2522 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Three acclaimed novels plus collected short fiction by the New York Times–bestselling author of Rich Man, Poor Man. The Young Lions: Irwin Shaw’s New York Times–bestselling debut is widely considered one of the four great World War II novels, along with From Here to Eternity, The Naked and the Dead, and The Caine Mutiny. Ambitious in its scope and robust in its prose, this “masterpiece” is also deeply humanistic, presenting the reality of war as seen through the eyes of three ordinary soldiers: a Nazi sergeant, a Jewish American infantryman, and an idealistic urbanite from New York City (TheBoston Globe). Bread Upon the Waters: No good deed goes unpunished? The Strands are a happy family, though not without their financial struggles. When their daughter helps a mugging victim by bringing him home, he turns out to be a Wall Street lawyer whose gratitude is as boundless as his bank account. But with each successive “reward,” the Strand family moves farther away from the wealth of happiness they already possessed. Short Stories: Five Decades: Shaw’s prolific output of short stories appeared regularly in the pages of the New Yorker and Esquire for over half a century. These sixty-three stories include such iconic works as “The Eighty-Yard Run” and “The Girls in Their Summer Dresses.” The Troubled Air: Five employees of Clement Archer’s popular radio show are accused Communists. He will have to fire them to keep his show on the air. But it’s not a simple choice—whatever Archer decides, he won’t be able to keep his hands clean, in Shaw’s provocative classic about courage and morality at the height of McCarthyism.
