Book The Primordial Laws of Creation

Download or read book The Primordial Laws of Creation written by Stephen M. Lampe and published by Millennium Press. This book was released on 2017-11-15 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book explains and illustrates the simple but immutable laws through which the entire Creation and all creatures, including human beings, came into being and by which they are maintained. They may be considered the Creator's manual for Creation and they are meant to facilitate for us as human beings the attainment of our individual and collective purposes. The Primordial Laws of Creation constitute both the infallible basis for a comprehensive understanding of the world and the solid and sure foundation for all right reforms, irrespective of sector. Without the right application of these laws, human civilization would continue to walk into the embrace of retrogression and perhaps catastrophic collapse.

Book excerpt: Published in 1999. How can we reconcile assumptions about the lawfulness of the universe with provision for chance events? Do the ‘laws of nature’ indicate what absolutely must happen, or just what is most likely to happen? These are important questions for both science and theology, and are explored here in the first in-depth coverage of an important but neglected topic. Including perspectives from prestigious contributions, and published with the backing of the International Society for Science and Religion (ISSR), Creation: Law and Probability employs the disciplines of history and philosophy, as well as cosmology, evolutionary biology, and neuroscience in a fascinating dialogue of faith traditions.

Book The Creation of States in International Law

Download or read book The Creation of States in International Law written by James R. Crawford and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2007-03-15 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Statehood in the early 21st century remains as much a central problem as it was in 1979 when the first edition of The Creation of States in International Law was published. As Rhodesia, Namibia, the South African Homelands and Taiwan then were subjects of acute concern, today governments, international organizations, and other institutions are seized of such matters as the membership of Cyprus in the European Union, application of the Geneva Conventions to Afghanistan, a final settlement for Kosovo, and, still, relations between China and Taiwan. All of these, and many other disputed situations, are inseparable from the nature of statehood and its application in practice. The remarkable increase in the number of States in the 20th century did not abate in the twenty five years following publication of James Crawford's landmark study, which was awarded the American Society of International Law Prize for Creative Scholarship in 1981. The independence of many small territories comprising the 'residue' of the European colonial empires alone accounts for a major increase in States since 1979; while the disintegration of Yugoslavia and the USSR in the early 1990s further augmented the ranks. With these developments, the practice of States and international organizations has developed by substantial measure in respect of self-determination, secession, succession, recognition, de-colonization, and several other fields. Addressing such questions as the unification of Germany, the status of Israel and Palestine, and the continuing pressure from non-State groups to attain statehood, even, in cases like Chechnya or Tibet, against the presumptive rights of existing States, James Crawford discusses the relation between statehood and recognition; the criteria for statehood, especially in view of evolving standards of democracy and human rights; and the application of such criteria in international organizations and between states. Also discussed are the mechanisms by which states have been created, including devolution and secession, international disposition by major powers or international organizations and the institutions established for Mandated, Trust, and Non-Self-Governing Territories. Combining a general argument as to the normative significance of statehood with analysis of numerous specific cases, this fully revised and expanded second edition gives a comprehensive account of the developments which have led to the birth of so many new states.

Book The Making of Constitutional Democracy

Download or read book The Making of Constitutional Democracy written by Paolo Sandro and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2022-01-27 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This open access book addresses a palpable, yet widely neglected, tension in legal discourse. In our everyday legal practices – whether taking place in a courtroom, classroom, law firm, or elsewhere – we routinely and unproblematically talk of the activities of creating and applying the law. However, when legal scholars have analysed this distinction in their theories (rather than simply assuming it), many have undermined it, if not dismissed it as untenable. The book considers the relevance of distinguishing between law-creation and law-application and how this transcends the boundaries of jurisprudential enquiry. It argues that such a distinction is also a crucial component of political theory. For if there is no possibility of applying a legal rule that was created by a different institution at a previous moment in time, then our current constitutional-democratic frameworks are effectively empty vessels that conceal a power relationship between public authorities and citizens that is very different from the one on which constitutional democracy is grounded. After problematising the most relevant objections in the literature, the book presents a comprehensive defence of the distinction between creation and application of law within the structure of constitutional democracy. It does so through an integrated jurisprudential methodology, which combines insights from different disciplines (including history, anthropology, political science, philosophy of language, and philosophy of action) while also casting new light on long-standing issues in public law, such as the role of legal discretion in the law-making process and the scope of the separation of powers doctrine. The ebook editions of this book are available open access under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence on bloomsburycollections.com.

Download or read book Creation by Laws written by Joey Ledesma Lawsin and published by Creation by Laws. This book was released on 2008-05 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a mosaic of personal observations and first hand day to day experiences that rationalize the Creation of the Universe where God is only part of the evolution. Creation by Laws authoritatively dictates a continuous propagation of "life" (living and non-living) and exponential transformation of species (living and non-living) in a never-ending process of procreation, which is guided by verifiable empirical list of instinctive instructions. Like putting on a new pair of spectacles, this book introduces eye-opening concepts on why things exist in pairs and how Laws govern creation. These are supported by diverse theories such as Darwin's evolution, the Big Bang, and the Book of Genesis; and by myriad of ordinary examples like the alphabet system, numerical system and family system to name a few. It also reveals some of the best kept secrets of science, that have remained protected and hidden from the eyes of an innocent mind, that can be explained using isodimensional morphical figures, and that could be the key to unlocking the mysteries of life. Sir Joey Lawsin describes himself as a "scientist at heart" who applies radical new ways of thinking with a passion to solve the mysteries of our existence. Applying logic to diverse scientific disciplines has led him to the discovery of the instinctive laws, which are supported by the Principle of Particle Duality and the Law of Symmetrical Inversion, which gradually created the universe.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: with a Postcript coauthored by Michael W. Goheen In print for two decades and translated into eight languages, Albert Wolters's classic formulation of an integrated Christian worldview has been revised and expanded to reach new readers beyond the generation that has already benefited from this clear, concise proposal for transcending the false dichotomy between sacred and secular. Wolters begins by defining the nature and scope of a worldview, distinguishing it from philosophy and theology. He then outlines a Reformed analysis of the three basic categories in human history -- creation, fall, and redemption -- arguing that while the fall reaches into every corner of the world, Christians are called to participate in Christ's redemption of all creation. This Twentieth Anniversary edition features a new concluding chapter, coauthored with Michael Goheen, that helpfully places the discussion of worldview in a broader narrative and missional context.

Book excerpt: In Walt Whitman, Michael Cunningham sees a poet whose vision of humanity is ecstatic, democratic, and sensuous. Just over a hundred years ago, Whitman celebrated America as it survived the Civil War, as it endured great poverty, and as it entered the Industrial Revolution, which would make it the most powerful nation on Earth. In Specimen Days Michael Cunningham makes Whitman's verse sing across time, and in Laws for Creations he celebrates what Whitman means to him, and how he appeared at the heart of his new novel. Just as the Pulitzer Prize-winning The Hours drew on the life and work of English novelist Viriginia Woolf, Specimen Days lovingly features the work of American poet Walt Whitman. Bringing together extracts from Whitman's prodigious writings, including Leaves of Grass and his journal, Specimen Days, Michael Cunningham's Laws for Creations provides an introduction to one of America's greatest visionary poets from one of our greatest contemporary novelists.

Book The Creation of American Law

Download or read book The Creation of American Law written by Jude M. Pfister and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2018-11-12 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the Constitutional Convention in 1787, America was set on a course to develop a unique system of law with roots in the English common law tradition. This new system, its foundations in Article III of the Constitution, called for a national judiciary headed by a supreme court--which first met in 1790. This book serves as a history of America's national law with a look at those--such as John Jay (the first Chief), James Iredell, Bushrod Washington and James Wilson--who set in motion not only the new Supreme Court, but also the new federal judiciary. These founders displayed great dexterity in maneuvering through the fraught political landscape of the 1790s.
