This is a book that would appeal most to an audience of young adults and adults who enjoy drama romance novels that are not erotic. Lily Light is an archaeologist who works at the Great Serpent Mound in Ohio. Her work opened her to experiences, knowledge, and beliefs she never knew existed. Psychotherapist Michael Neeson is Lily’s therapist and guide in her dream travels where she becomes a woman known as White Flower. Lily’s life path takes her to heights she never knew existed in her dream travels, yet she also experiences hurt when she discovers her husband’s infidelity. Cradle of the Serpent (A Man and a Woman's Imperfect Love) by Linda Lee Greene is a book with a slower pace, yet the leisurely pace only added to the story instead of detracting from it. I enjoyed the way that Lily Light develops as a character during the course of the book as her husband’s shooting, his paralyzed state, and the discovery of his mistress leave her reeling. The way that she not only recovers, but also throws herself into her dream states that allow her to embrace White Flower, was amazing. I loved the suspense in trying to discover if White Flower was a dream state or if Lily was time traveling. The additional perspective of Michael Neeson provided a nice balance to the story. I also particularly liked that the love scenes were written to be romantic instead of erotic.

Book excerpt: From the Cradle to the Cross From the Grave to the Sky is a book about the life and Times of the Lord Jesus Christ as he walked the earth more than two thousand years ago. There are four specific areas in this study that make up the foundation for this book. Phase One deals with prophecies concerning the birth and reign of Jesus and the circumstances that surround his life as a child. The bible does not elaborate on the first twelve years of his life so there is reason to believe that his life was that of a normal child. What is important to note is that Matthew gave a genealogy of Jesus; not only to show his lineage to David, but more importantly to demonstrate that he was not begotten by anyone but the Holy Ghost. Matthew chapter 1 verses 1-17 speaks of the lineage of Jesus but verses 18-23 speaks of his conception by the Holy Ghost. This is extremely important for him to be called the Son of God. Since Jesus was conceived by the Holy Ghost and he is called the Son of God, it is reasonable to say that the Holy Ghost is God. Phase Two goes a little deeper as we follow his footsteps from the river Jordan where he was baptized by John the Baptist; to a place called Calvary where he would be crucified. Jesus himself prophesied of his own death. Matthew 20 verses 18-19 Jesus said, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death. Phase Three will take us into the grave where the tell-tale signs of his return would be discovered. There would also be witnesses in the grave who testified about his resurrection. We will discuss the significance of the empty tomb and what it means to the believer. There is more on the resurrection and the disappearance of Jesus for eight days. Phase Four captures the disciples looking up into the sky because the Saviour of the world, the King of glory was on his way to heaven. There are several incidents that took place from the time he was placed in the grave to the moment he was taken up into the sky; all of which are instrumental to the faith of the believer. In this phase, Jesus speaks of the love that we ought to have for the brethren. In the gospel of John, he gave us a new commandment that we should love one another as he loved us. (John 13 verse 34) This was before his death, but after his death, he brought the subject back to the surface and spoke of the two aspects of Love; namely, agapao and phileo. There is a reason behind all that is written in this book. The Apostle John wrote, All these are written that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Nina Danilova, young, pretty and musically talented arrives from Moscow with her older sister, who plans to get a teaching job in order to support Nina's musical education. At the onset the sisters can only find work as waitresses in New York. Subsequently, Nina's sister is mysteriously and brutally murdered. Left all alone in a new country, Nina sinks into a deep depression. Miss Providence appears and Nina is led to Dr. Seroff in his Manhattan office. Interested in her musical talents and beautiful voice, he decides to help her. He takes her into his home at Morningside Heights and with Peter's help arranges a scholarship for her at the Manhattan School. Nina falls in love with Mikhail and he is tempted to love her, but fears of being unprofessional keeps him aloof in spite of his strong feelings for her. He also worries about their age difference and that he might lose out to a younger man. In the meantime Nina falls prey to Peter's charm, is seduced and finds herself pregnant. Peter, on his was to study at the Sorbonne in Paris, tells her to have an abortion or marry his father. Nina sinks into another depression and is again rescued by Mikhail, who marries her in spite of knowing that she is pregnant. In spite of knowing that Michail hates a lie, Nina tells him a story about a boyfriend who ran away. She lives in constant fear of Peter's return, not trusting his promise of secrecy. When he does return three years later, he decides that he loves Nina and tries to snatch her away from Mikhail. A love-hate triangle develops, which one day explodes and creates far-reaching, heart-breaking percussion. Nina and the baby disappears and Mikhail can think of nothing but finding her. Almost a year later he does find her. All is forgiven, and they build a new life together. Mikhail fathers a baby girl whom he adores, yet he still struggles with feelings of jealousy and the shadow of Peter. When Peter returns to the New York scene, he is proud of having fathered a son and more in love with Nina than before. As they struggle to overcome their guilt, jealousy and desire, the three characters become more tightly bound. Only forgiveness can erase past transgressions.
