Download or read book A Practical Guide to Particle Counting for Drinking Water Treatment written by John Michael Broadwell and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2016-04-19 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As EPA standards for water quality have tightened in recent years, the need to more accurately assess filter performance and improve the overall treatment process has led to increased demand for the high sensitivity provided by particle counters. One particle counter can give you more data than a dozen turbidimeters-if you know how to sort through
Download or read book Algorithms and Complexity written by Giancarlo Bongiovanni and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-06-26 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The papers in this volume were presented at the Fourth Italian Conference on Algorithms and Complexity (CIAC 2000). The conference took place on March 1-3, 2000, in Rome (Italy), at the conference center of the University of Rome \La Sapienza". This conference was born in 1990 as a national meeting to be held every three years for Italian researchers in algorithms, data structures, complexity, and parallel and distributed computing. Due to a signi cant participation of foreign reaserchers, starting from the second conference, CIAC evolved into an international conference. In response to the call for papers for CIAC 2000, there were 41 subm- sions, from which the program committee selected 21 papers for presentation at the conference. Each paper was evaluated by at least three program committee members. In addition to the selected papers, the organizing committee invited Giorgio Ausiello, Narsingh Deo, Walter Ruzzo, and Shmuel Zaks to give plenary lectures at the conference. We wish to express our appreciation to all the authors of the submitted papers, to the program committee members and the referees, to the organizing committee, and to the plenary lecturers who accepted our invitation.
Download or read book Semiconductor Circuits written by J. R. Abrahams and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Semiconductor Circuits: Theory, Design and Experiment focuses on the design and modification of circuits involving transistors and related semiconductor devices. This book is divided into three parts. The four chapters of Part I are concerned with the physical theory of semiconductors; production of pn junctions; and characteristics and equivalent circuits of transistors. The treatment of physical theory is briefly mentioned. Part II forms the major portion of this book and is made up of seven chapters. These chapters have been written at a practical level, including a number of complete circuit designs. Chapters 10 and 11, in particular, deal with the aspects of semiconductors. Several laboratory demonstrations and experiments with semiconductors are provided in Part III. This publication is written as an undergraduate and technical college textbook that helps electrical engineering students in choosing the right component and device for a particular application.

Download or read book Analog and Digital Circuits for Electronic Control System Applications written by Gerald Luecke and published by Newnes. This book was released on 2005 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today's control system designers face an ever-increasing "need for speed” and accuracy in their system measurements and computations. New design approaches using microcontrollers and DSP are emerging, and designers must understand these new approaches, the tools available, and how best to apply them. This practical text covers the latest techniques in microcontroller-based control system design, making use of the popular MSP430 microcontroller from Texas Instruments. The book covers all the circuits of the system, including: · Sensors and their output signals · Design and application of signal conditioning circuits · A-to-D and D-to-A circuit design · Operation and application of the powerful and popular TI MSP430 microcontroller · Data transmission circuits · System power control circuitry Written by an experienced microcontroller engineer and textbook author, the book is lavishly illustrated and includes numerous specific circuit design examples, including a fully tested and documented hands-on project using the MSP430 that makes use of the principles described. For students, engineers, technicians, and hobbyists, this practical text provides the answers you need to design modern control systems quickly and easily. Seasoned Texas Instruments designer provides a ground-up perspective on embedded control systems Pedagogical style provides a self-learning approach with examples, quizzes and review features
