Like most people, she has no memory of her previous lifetimes, or the soulmate she returns to in between lifetimes. The invisible world of she - and he-fairy entities is growing impatient with Nora's bad luck through centuries of misery and loneliness. With their help, this is about to change. Thirty-five years old and single - Nora considers a vacation. It is a decision that is about to turn her upside down, where she lands in Riga, Latvia on the coast of the Baltic Sea. OSKAR EGLE is about to change his life from a stranger innocently bumping into Nora's shoulder to becoming her closest friend, lover and husband. Not so quickly - though, Oskar's Aunt Kara - an evil fairy in disguise of a normal human being emerges from the dead carcass of a cat and wants nothing more than to interfere. With her team of crows and bats hidden in the midst of the normal world, Kara will stop at nothing short of bending fate. Kara's war on the unification of soulmates transforms her to an entity smaller than a pinhead on the bank of the River Daugava. IF YOU WANT TO fall in love, read this book. IF YOU WANT TO find your soulmate, have a closer look. IF YOU WANT TO explore what fairies, leprechauns and trolls implore -- what they do, where they live, how they work and hide from sight STEP IN AND LISTEN deep into the night for a pin dropping into a bottomless well telling all farewell, but what's left is treasure worth more than gold - more than any tangible hold. IN THIS BOOK YOU will find A chance made to unwind Secret doors with secret keys Secret messages aimed to please Good luck charms of chests and thimbles Travel to Seemingly Nowhere in symbols And the Spiritual Resting Place of All Things Repulsive Is a place for the most impulsive Board a ship, train or plane Rest in these words And stand much to gain Travel with me across the ocean With words of complete devotion. Excerpt from The Fairyselves: IF ONE STARES TOO INTENTLY at the constellations littered across a black velvet sky, they appear to move. When such things actually move, it is usually just one, and its tail blazes in a trail of fireworks. Everyone is amazed. It's how we know the eyes are not playing tricks on the brain. FAIRIES ARE LIKE THIS. If we have opportunity to see them, we are amazed. In matters of logic, we might certainly question if what we saw was actually real, or our imagination. Babies, toddlers - even those minds trapped in far away places suddenly rise from the living dead to see a blaze of sparkles and wings. Fairies, yes. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 1997 volume in the Canada: The State of the Federation series explores the theme of non-constitutional change. Contributors assess the progress of federal and provincial governments in renewing the federation through means other than constitutional change.Keith Banting (Queen's) deals with the lessons learned from the decline of the post-World War II social union, John Richards (Simon Fraser) lays out three propositions for a successful social union, and Harvey Lazar (Queen's) documents and analyses recent changes in the federal strategy toward the social union. Robert Knox (former executive director of the Internal Trade Secretariat) reviews progress on implementation of the Internal Trade Agreement. Patrick Fafard (Queen's) and Audrey Doerr (former official at Indian and Northern Affairs) focus on federal-provincial relations pertaining to environmental and Aboriginal issues respectively. Rejean Pelletier (Laval) analyses whether the change from Parizeau to Bouchard has affected Quebec's positions on non-constitutional files, Roger Gibbins (Calgary) explains factors that helped the government of Alberta become so influential in the intergovernmental arena in recent years, and Sid Noel (Western) looks at Ontario's radical refashioning of its approach to intergovernmental relations. Rob Howse (Toronto) analyses how the non-constitutional focuses fit well with the need to blend a community of association (Canada) with the different communities of identity that exist within Canadian borders. Harvey Lazar, in an introductory essay, provides an overall report card on the renewal process.

Download or read book Caring Responsibilities in European Law and Policy written by Eugenia Caracciolo di Torella and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-02-28 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the emerging engagement of EU law with care and carers. The book argues that the regulation of care by the EU is crucial because it enables the development of a broad range of policies. It contributes to the sustainability of society and ultimately it enables individuals to flourish. Yet, to date, the EU approach to regulating the caring relationship remains piecemeal and lacks the underpinning of a cohesive strategy. Against this backdrop, this book argues that the EU can and must take leadership in this area by setting principles and standards in accordance with the values of the treaty, in particular gender equality, human dignity, solidarity and well-being. The book further makes a case for a stronger protection for carers, who should not only be protected against discrimination, but should also be supported, valued and put in a position to make choices and lead full lives. In order to achieve this, a proactive approach to rebalancing the relationship between paid and unpaid work is necessary. Ultimately, the book puts forward a series of legal and policy recommendations for a holistic approach to care in the EU.
