Book excerpt: Knowing God is the first step to loving Him and living for Him. It’s not surprising, then, that one of the greatest callings God has given parents is to teach their children to know Him. But how does that happen? How can parents pass along the knowledge of God that leads to faith to the next generation? For centuries, parents have used the ancient method of learning and reciting questions and answers to teach the core doctrines of the faith. Through a regular rhythm of asking and answering questions about God and His ways, parents can introduce their children to God and help spark a hunger within them to explore the riches of the Scriptures for the rest of their lives. Cornerstones provides parents with two hundred questions and answers about God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, sin, redemption, the church, restoration, and more. Each question and answer is written to make these foundational doctrines accessible for a child. Additional commentary is provided to equip parents to engage in meaningful conversations about God in everyday life.

Download or read book The Christian Doctrine of God One Being Three Persons written by Thomas F. Torrance and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2016-01-28 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Written by one of the twentieth-century's foremost modern Trinitarian theologians The Christian Doctrine of God remains a classic ground work for scholars and students alike. In the book Thomas F. Torrance offers a detailed study of the most profound article of the Christian faith - the Holy Trinity. Torrance adopts a holistic approach when examining the inter-relatedness of the three persons - Father, son, and Holy Spirit - and their dynamic Communion with the Being and Nature of God. Combining immense academic range with his characteristically fresh theological perspectives, Torrance builds a significant theological bridge between ancient and modern, as well as between the Roman and Protestant theology; he engages deeply with the Church Fathers and discusses the ontological nature of God. Here Torrance conveys a simple message - the doctrine of the Trinity is the doctrine of God. This Cornerstones edition includes a new introduction written by Professor Paul D. Molnar, in which Molnar sets Torrance's classic work in its modern context and considers how it continues to influence the way we think about the Trinity today.

Download or read book CORNERSTONES written by Tom Gaskins Jr. and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-05-07 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One person said, "I have read many a book in my life, but never one like this!" Tom moves from some of the simplest of entities in our life to some of the most complex issues of today. "It's some of those simple things that hold great value for us." He admonishes, "Follow truth, not people." He tackles such a wide variety of topics that you never know what's coming next. You may view your IQ differently than ever before! He tackles abortion, not in debate but with one simple question! He touches on alcohol, drugs, and tobacco, not in a condemning way but with thoughts he hopes will stick in your mind. This book does not come across as a preach-at-you book, rather, a passing on of thoughts to encourage you. "Don't let anyone think for you! It's your life. You're the one who has to live it and leave it!" Shootings, voting, fairness-he takes them on. Oh yes, he tackles faith. He suggests you must have a TBS to have a Bible faith. A what? A TBS? You'll see! It's a thought provoker, highly entertaining, out of the box. Surprisingly, he somewhat minimizes politics. Tom maintains it is E-C-O-N-O-M-I-C-S that we need to understand. Like what works and what doesn't work. He addresses what he calls the "what's one vote" disease. He calls evolution a hoax and backs it up. He says we need to pull out the Golden Rule, dust it off, and hang it back up. The most stirring section may be "Finding God within Your Skin." You will never look at yourself in the mirror the same ever again! He takes you into areas of thought where you've probably never been before, like down into the inner chambers of your heart...where no one goes...but you and God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You can't argue the pedigree of a 17th-century philosopher whose contributions in science and mathematics still influence the way we live and think today. Blaise Pascal was a genius by any definition. Moreover, he was a genius who experienced an intense, near-mystical conversion to Christianity and began applying his intellect to theology. A selection from Pensees, Pascal's masterwork, Foundations of the Christian Religion is more than a defense of the faith. It's some of the finest literature in the Western canon. Book jacket.
