Download or read book Contribution la mod lisation de la corrosion microstructurale des alliages d aluminium written by Nicolas Murer and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2002 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book M canismes de corrosion localis e de l alliage d aluminium 2024 written by Loïc Lacroix and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Duplex Stainless Steels

Download or read book Duplex Stainless Steels written by Iris Alvarez-Armas and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-01-16 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Duplex Stainless Steels (DSSs) are chromium-nickel-molybdenum-iron alloys that are usually in proportions optimized for equalizing the volume fractions of austenite and ferrite. Due to their ferritic-austenitic microstructure, they possess a higher mechanical strength and a better corrosion resistance than standard austenitic steels. This type of steel is now increasing its application and market field due to its very good properties and relatively low cost. This book is a review of the most recent progress achieved in the last 10 years on microstructure, corrosion resistance and mechanical strength properties, as well as applications, due to the development of new grades. Special attention will be given to fatigue and fracture behavior and to proposed models to account for mechanical behavior. Each subject will be developed in chapters written by experts recognized around the international industrial and scientific communities. The use of duplex stainless steels has grown rapidly in the last 10 years, particularly in the oil and gas industry, chemical tankers, pulp and paper as well as the chemical industry. In all these examples, topics like welding, corrosion resistance and mechanical strength properties (mainly in the fatigue domain) are crucial. Therefore, the update of welding and corrosion properties and the introduction of topics like texture effects, fatigue and fracture strength properties, and mechanical behavior modeling give this book specific focus and character.

Book Light Metal Alloys Applications

Download or read book Light Metal Alloys Applications written by Waldemar Alfredo Monteiro and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2014-06-11 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lightweight alloys have become of great importance in engineering for construction of transportation equipment. At present, the metals that serve as the base of the principal light alloys are aluminum and magnesium. One of the most important lightweight alloys are the aluminum alloys in use for several applications (structural components wrought aluminum alloys, parts and plates). However, some casting parts that have low cost of production play important role in aircraft parts. Magnesium and its alloys are among the lightest of all metals and the sixth most abundant metal on earth. Magnesium is ductile and the most machinable of all metals. Many of these light weight alloys have appropriately high strength to warrant their use for structural purposes, and as a result of their use, the total weight of transportation equipment has been considerably decreased.

Book Complex Inorganic Solids

Download or read book Complex Inorganic Solids written by Patrice E. A. Turchi and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-12-31 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the key aspects of this volume is to cut across the traditional taxonomy of disciplines in the study of alloys. Hence there has been a deliberate attempt to integrate the different approaches taken towards alloys as a class of materials in different fields, ranging from geology to metallurgical engineering. The emphasis of this book is to highlight commonalities between different fields with respect to how alloys are studied. The topics in this book fall into several themes, which suggest a number of different classification schemes. We have chosen a scheme that classifies the papers in the volume into the categories Microstructural Considerations, Ordering, Kinetics and Diffusion, Magnetic Considerations and Elastic Considerations. The book has juxtaposed apparently disparate approaches to similar physical processes, in the hope of revealing a more dynamic character of the processes under consideration. This monograph will invigorate new kinds of discussion and reveal challenges and new avenues to the description and prediction of properties of materials in the solid state and the conditions that produce them.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All significant studies agree that aqueous corrosion continues to cost nations dearly in almost every area of technological endeavour. Over the past ten years, microcomputers have facilitated an explosion in the power of modelling as a technique in science and engineering. In corrosion they have enabled better understanding of polarization curves, they have transformed the scope of electrochemical impedance measurements and they have placed a large range of electrochemistry at the fingertips of the corrosion scientist. This book focuses on the models, rather than the computing, which have been made possible during the past decade. Aimed at all those with an interest in corrosion and its control, the book draws together the range of new modelling strands, suggests new avenues of approach and generates further momentum for improvements to corrosion management, whether by increased understanding of atomistic processes or by control of large plant.

Book Fundamentals Of Materials Modelling For Metals Processing Technologies Theories And Applications

Download or read book Fundamentals Of Materials Modelling For Metals Processing Technologies Theories And Applications written by Jianguo Lin and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2015-03-24 with total page 529 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive introduction to the unique theory developed over years of research on materials and process modelling and its application in metal forming technologies. It starts with the introduction of fundamental theories on the mechanics of materials, computational mechanics and the formulation of unified constitutive equations. Particular attention is paid to elastic-plastic formulations for cold metal forming and unified elastic-viscoplastic constitutive equations for warm/hot metals processing. Damage in metal forming and numerical techniques to solve and determine the unified constitutive equations are also detailed. Examples are given for the application of the unified theories to solve practical problems encountered in metal forming processes. This is particularly useful to predict microstructure evolution in warm/hot metal forming processes. Crystal plasticity theories and modelling techniques with their applications in micro-forming are also introduced in the book. The book is self-contained and unified in presentation. The explanations are highlighted to capture the interest of curious readers and complete enough to provide the necessary background material to further explore/develop new theories and applications.
