Les buts de cette étude sont (i) d'identifier et de caractériser les différentes espèces uranyle de surface, i.e. les différents environnements de coordination des atomes d'uranium en utilisant la spectroscopie de photoélectrons induits par rayons X, la spectroscopie d'absorption X et la spectrofluorimétrie laser résolue en temps, et (ii) de déterminer l'influence du pH, de la concentration initiale de U(VI) en solution et de la concentration en ligands hydroxyle sur la spéciation de surface de U(VI). Cette étude a ainsi permis de caractériser les espèces uranyle de surface sur le quartz et un hydroxyde d'aluminium "amorphe" dans une grande gamme de conditions chimiques favorisant, en solution et en l'absence de minéral, l'hydrolyse de l'ion uranyle et la formation d'espèces hydrolysées soit mononucléaires, soit polynucléaires et/ou colloïdales. Cette étude apporte donc des informations sur l'influence de la chimie de la solution, mais aussi de la phase minérale à son contact sur la nature des espèces uranyle de surface.
