La dynamique plus riche de la perturbation peut différer du cas incompressible strictement vortical et est illustrée par deux études. La stabilité linéaire d'un écoulement giratoire non visqueux débitant est d'abord étudiée à l'aide d'un développement wkb ondes courtes. Le système d'équations différentielles ordinaires évoluant le long des trajectoires de l'écoulement de base permet d'obtenir des conditions suffisantes d'instabilité et un taux d'amplification associé. Les modes et valeurs propres sont par ailleurs calculés avec une formulation en modes normaux. Pour des nombres d'onde élevés, les deux approches concordent et montrent un effet déstabilisant d'un gradient d'entropie positif. Pour un écoulement axial uniforme, les modes et valeurs propres axisymétriques sont obtenus analytiquement. Le critère de rayleigh est ainsi étendu et le lien entre les comportements faiblement compressible et strictement incompressible clarifié. L'écoulement faiblement compressible de hiemenz, obtenu par un développement en nombre de mach, est étudié à l'aide d'une simulation numérique directe. Le nombre de reynolds est super-critique. La paroi est isotherme ou adiabatique. Des conditions limites maintenant l'écoulement de base tout en limitant les réflexions de la perturbation sont implémentées. De petites perturbations stochastiques sont introduites dans la couche limite et suivies au cours du temps. Qu'elles soient initialement purement entropiques ou vorticales, et situées au dessus de la ligne d'arrêt ou décentrées, les perturbations présentent après une décroissance transitoire une croissance exponentielle. Les modes de pression et vitesse développés sont similaires à ceux postulés par gortler dans le cas incompressible. L'écoulement est absolument instable et la paroi isotherme induit un taux d'amplification supérieur.

Book excerpt: Ce travail concerne l'étude numérique et expérimentale de l'écoulement et des transferts de chaleur autour d'un cylindre circulaire poreux en écoulement croisé, soumis à de l'effusion non-isotherme (écoulement interne). Les régimes d'écoulement sont stationnaires et instationnaires, laminaires et turbulents. Deux modèles d'effusion sont proposés. Les manipulations expérimentales permettent de valider les simulations numériques et les modèles d'effusion. En particulier, l'anémométrie à fils chauds et fil froid permet de comparer les profils de vitesse et de température avec les simulations numériques. Un bon accord est constaté. Un couplage écoulement interne à la matrice poreuse / écoulement externe au cylindre est réalisé sous la forme d'une fonction externe au code numérique, prenant en compte les transferts radiatifs afin de déterminer la température de paroi à l'équilibre. Les performances de l'injection de liquide (transpiration) sont expérimentalement évaluées avec de l'eau et de l'éthanol et montrent une excellente efficacité du procédé. Enfin, l'influence de l'effusion sur les instabilités est étudiée. Il est constaté que l'effusion fait baisser la fréquence de détachement des tourbillons primaires et secondaires et modifie la structure de la couche de cisaillement. En présence d'effusion, une série de pics supplémentaires apparaît. En utilisant la théorie de stabilité linéaire, il est montré que les taux de croissance sont significativement affectés par l'effusion et que la structure du sillage proche, et notamment la zone absolument instable, est modifiée. Enfin, des simulations numériques 3-D ont permis de conclure que l'effusion réduit les phénomènes tridimensionnels.
