Book The Conspiracy of the Good

Download or read book The Conspiracy of the Good written by Michael E. James and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2005 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Conspiracy of the Good addresses nagging questions that are part of the public debate over schooling. Why do our public schools, especially those in poor and working-class communities of color, fail to live up to the promises of the American dream? Why do reforms, those standard items in political campaigns, fail to create meaningful change? This book argues that «progressive», well-meaning, good-hearted men and women, who often advocate «good intentions» in the name of «helping those in need», have ended up doing more harm than good. The Conspiracy of the Good explores how these «good intentions» go awry. Michael E. James argues that the core value of the American experience is conflict - not consensus - despite what mainstream historians have espoused over the last few decades.

Book Proofs of a Conspiracy against all the Religions and Governments of Europe carried on in the secret meetings of Freemasons Illuminati and Reading Societies

Download or read book Proofs of a Conspiracy against all the Religions and Governments of Europe carried on in the secret meetings of Freemasons Illuminati and Reading Societies written by John Robison and published by Wermod and Wermod Publishing Group. This book was released on 2014-02-28 with total page 532 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Proofs of a Conspiracy discusses the rôle of Continental-style Freemasonry, Adam Weishaupt’s Illuminati, and Karl Friedrich Bahrdt’s German Union in disseminating the ‘Enlightenment’ ideas that led to the French Revolution, and is also the founding text of the modern conspiracy theory of history in the English language. Whatever criticisms may be made in relation to Robison’s methodology, Proofs . . . remains valuable today for several reasons: firstly, it provides a snapshot of Continental-style Freemasonry and secret societies in the 18th century; secondly, it is the earliest attempt, along with Barruel’s, to examine the rôle of conspiracies in a revolution; thirdly, it supplies insights into what we may call the ‘lowlands’ of the ‘Enlightenment’—not its eminent thinkers, but the odd and peculiar characters that were also active in this movement; and, finally, it presents a systematic critique of the ideals that in France led eventually to the Terror, thereby serving as a primary source for understanding opposition to the French Revolution and its core ideal of equality as a moral absolute. The Counter-Enlightenment arguments of authors like Robison are today more relevant than ever, since the politics of the West remain a legacy of his era, to the extent that even conservatives ultimately derive their political philosophy from Locke and rely on terminology based on the seating arrangements of the French National Assembly. Though it was soon forgotten, Proofs . . . has had a lasting impact; indeed, we live in times awash with conspiracy theories. Be it about the Illuminati, the Freemasons, the New World Order, 9/11, or master conspiracies involving all of the above, could the growth of conspiratology tell us something about democratic societies in liberal modernity? The cover artwork is by Alex Kurtagic and depicts Adam Weishaupt obtaining secret information from his then right-hand man, Adolf Knigge.

Book The Greatest Secrets Of Conspiracy

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Human being is facing the influence of various occurrences every day that can change his condition in part or completely. These changes can be good or bad for a man. There is a possibility that a person causes occurrences with good or bad intentions towards other people. Such occurrence includes conspiracy and conspiracy theory. Conspiracy as a phenomenon can affect man and his tangible and intangible condition. Conspiracy theory can affect people's psyche and can persuade them to take action or reaction. Conspiracy theory can also affect man's tangible and intangible condition. This is a book that contains descriptions of conspiracy as a phenomenon and its mechanisms, strategies and opportunities in the form of impact on people. What follow are the descriptions of conspirators and conspiracy theorists as well as their characters, intentions, and psychological profiles. Finally, there is a description of the people who are briefed by conspiracy or conspiracy theory and their actions towards those phenomena. Everything that was needed and possible to describe, conclude and define about conspiracy, conspirators, conspiracy theorists and theory as well as their impact on people has been done in such a way that people can understand the basics of all those stated without the possibility of abuse. The objective of this book is to get people familiar with and warn them of the dangers that can be posed by conspiracy, conspirators and conspiracy theorists. This book has been conceptualised and written for fifteen months. The dealing with the theme of this book is adapted to the light understanding of the content that is written very carefully and without detailed dealing with conspiracy, conspirators and conspiracy theorists to avoid any possibility of abusing the contents of the book. Dealing with conspiracy, conspirators and conspiracy theorists is kept to a minimum and only observations and conclusions have been used to allow readers to understand the existence of conspiracy and conspiracy theory as well as their dangers. There is part of the book that processes the revelation and prevention of conspiracy as well as the process of exploring phenomena such as conspiracy and conspiracy theory. For an easier understanding of the content of this book, fictional examples were predominantly used that correspond to the chapter and its processing wherever it was necessary for readers to implement their understanding in accordance with reality, and not with fiction. The content of the whole book is written on its own and based on the author's long-standing research of conspiracy, conspirators, conspiracy theories, and their impact on people. This book does not contain any quotes or other people's thoughts, because dealing with this topic has so far been under investigation and that is the reason for author's research and writing of this book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Conspiracy or Faith, is something that has troubled me for the past 30 years, I have wondered often, what it meant to be in faith, I have watched many things happen for others, that seemed like a slammed door in my face, I watched a full church of people one night be healed, and all of them tossed their medications in the trash, when I did likewise, I nearly died, Conspiracy or faith, even now, is a great mystery, however, through study of the word of God, the applications to my life that I am now finding, Yes, things are changing for my life for the better. You will never know the truth, unless you are seeking the truth, what I am finding out is that, Too many Churches, teach the values of the conspiracy over the values of faith, then when the people hear about the values of faith, they get angry, call the teacher a liar, and other cold hearted names. But if the truth is told, and I am one of the many that is going to tell it, you should want the truth over the lie, I saw in a movie once, where the man punched another man two times, first time was for hurting his feelings, the second one was because he stood on the values of the truth, which was what hurt his feelings, needless to say, the truth hurts. Conspiracy or Faith, is a writing that attacks the values of where we need to be standing in our lives, John 10:10 talks about it very clearly, and in this book, this verse is talked about a lot, why, because that is a value of our faith that we really need to fully understand, simply put, either we are going to live by faith, and then live with God forever, or, we are going to accept the cases of the conspiracy, and live with the devil forever.

Book An Overview of Secret Combinations Evidence of the Conspiracy Today

Download or read book An Overview of Secret Combinations Evidence of the Conspiracy Today written by John Benson and published by . This book was released on 2020-12-08 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended as an overview of secret combinations, to make it clear what they are, who they are, how they operate and what their agenda is. The world is divided into two powers. One is the gospel of the Son of God, based on the order of heaven, promoting peace and righteousness. The other is the order of secret abominations - the mode of governing mankind by the means of terrible oaths and by the law of force. "There is no conspiracy theory in the Book of Mormon - it is a conspiracy fact." (Ezra Taft Benson) Those who are watching sense the world is becoming more wicked and more corrupt over time. The issues we face today are like fires, but these are not accidental fires. While putting out the fires is a good cause, it's also important to identify the arsonists. Many evils in this world have been made possible and supported by well-meaning but ignorant people who did not understand the consequences of their actions. "In any struggle, it is essential to know both what you are fighting for and what you are fighting against. If knowledge of the former is lacking, the will to win will be absent. If knowledge of the latter is lacking, confusion and uncertainty will result." (J. Edgar Hoover, Former FBI Director) Topics covered in this book: Why we need to understand evil. What are secret combinations. Secret combinations in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Secret combinations have existed since Cain. The world is full of secret organizations. The false left-right paradigm. What is our responsibility. The parable of the tower. "..it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you, which are built up to get power and gain ... Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you ..." (The Book of Mormon, Ether, chapter 8) "I testify that wickedness is rapidly expanding in every segment of our society. It is more highly organized, more cleverly disguised, and more powerfully promoted than ever before. Secret combinations lusting for power, gain, and glory are flourishing. A secret combination that seeks to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries is increasing its evil influence and control over America and the entire world." (Ezra Taft Benson)

Book excerpt: GOOD MORNING AMERICA BOOK CLUB PICK! • Ray McMillian is a Black classical musician on the rise—undeterred by the pressure and prejudice of the classical music world—when a shocking theft sends him on a desperate quest to recover his great-great-grandfather’s heirloom violin on the eve of the most prestigious musical competition in the world. “I loved The Violin Conspiracy for exactly the same reasons I loved The Queen’s Gambit: a surprising, beautifully rendered underdog hero I cared about deeply and a fascinating, cutthroat world I knew nothing about—in this case, classical music.” —Chris Bohjalian, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Flight Attendant and Hour of the Witch Growing up Black in rural North Carolina, Ray McMillian’s life is already mapped out. But Ray has a gift and a dream—he’s determined to become a world-class professional violinist, and nothing will stand in his way. Not his mother, who wants him to stop making such a racket; not the fact that he can’t afford a violin suitable to his talents; not even the racism inherent in the world of classical music. When he discovers that his beat-up, family fiddle is actually a priceless Stradivarius, all his dreams suddenly seem within reach, and together, Ray and his violin take the world by storm. But on the eve of the renowned and cutthroat Tchaikovsky Competition—the Olympics of classical music—the violin is stolen, a ransom note for five million dollars left in its place. Without it, Ray feels like he's lost a piece of himself. As the competition approaches, Ray must not only reclaim his precious violin, but prove to himself—and the world—that no matter the outcome, there has always been a truly great musician within him.

Book None Dare Call it Conspiracy

Download or read book None Dare Call it Conspiracy written by Gary Allen and published by Lightyear Press. This book was released on 1990 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It has been my experience for the past half-decade or so that when I want to read good horror, I don't go to the horror section of the bookstore. I go to the non-fiction section. There is a short but powerful list of nonfiction books that are guaranteed to put a good scare into you, and I seem to have stumbled across the majority of them. Stanton Peele's The Diseasing of America. Robert Weinberg's One Renegade Cell. Glenn Gaesser's Big Fat Lies. Add to the list Allen and Abraham's None Dare Call It Conspiracy. Allen and Abraham here attempt to make the case that the events of recent world history, from the Bolshevik Revolution forward, have been brought into being and controlled by a relatively small group of insiders, mostly international banking magnates and (later on) the Council on Foreign Relations. While it's certainly conspiracy theory, Allen and Abraham have done a fine job of backing up their assertions with a huge amount of primary and secondary source material (just looking up the titles in the bibliography took me the better part of two hours). Whether you're a fan of conspiracy theory or not, the facts presented, and the conclusions drawn, in this book, are thought-provoking and outrageous.

Book Conspiracy

Download or read book Conspiracy written by Ryan Holiday and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2018-02-27 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An NPR Book Concierge Best Book of 2018! A stunning story about how power works in the modern age--the book the New York Times called "one helluva page-turner" and The Sunday Times of London celebrated as "riveting...an astonishing modern media conspiracy that is a fantastic read." Pick up the book everyone is talking about. In 2007, a short blogpost on Valleywag, the Silicon Valley-vertical of Gawker Media, outed PayPal founder and billionaire investor Peter Thiel as gay. Thiel's sexuality had been known to close friends and family, but he didn't consider himself a public figure, and believed the information was private. This post would be the casus belli for a meticulously plotted conspiracy that would end nearly a decade later with a $140 million dollar judgment against Gawker, its bankruptcy and with Nick Denton, Gawker's CEO and founder, out of a job. Only later would the world learn that Gawker's demise was not incidental--it had been masterminded by Thiel. For years, Thiel had searched endlessly for a solution to what he'd come to call the "Gawker Problem." When an unmarked envelope delivered an illegally recorded sex tape of Hogan with his best friend's wife, Gawker had seen the chance for millions of pageviews and to say the things that others were afraid to say. Thiel saw their publication of the tape as the opportunity he was looking for. He would come to pit Hogan against Gawker in a multi-year proxy war through the Florida legal system, while Gawker remained confidently convinced they would prevail as they had over so many other lawsuit--until it was too late. The verdict would stun the world and so would Peter's ultimate unmasking as the man who had set it all in motion. Why had he done this? How had no one discovered it? What would this mean--for the First Amendment? For privacy? For culture? In Holiday's masterful telling of this nearly unbelievable conspiracy, informed by interviews with all the key players, this case transcends the narrative of how one billionaire took down a media empire or the current state of the free press. It's a study in power, strategy, and one of the most wildly ambitious--and successful--secret plots in recent memory. Some will cheer Gawker's destruction and others will lament it, but after reading these pages--and seeing the access the author was given--no one will deny that there is something ruthless and brilliant about Peter Thiel's shocking attempt to shake up the world.

Book Conspiracy Theories

Download or read book Conspiracy Theories written by Quassim Cassam and published by Polity. This book was released on 2019-11-04 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 9/11 was an inside job. The Holocaust is a myth promoted to serve Jewish interests. The shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School were a false flag operation. Climate change is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese government. These are all conspiracy theories. A glance online or at bestseller lists reveals how popular some of them are. Even if there is plenty of evidence to disprove them, people persist in propagating them. Why? Philosopher Quassim Cassam explains how conspiracy theories are different from ordinary theories about conspiracies. He argues that conspiracy theories are forms of propaganda and their function is to promote a political agenda. Although conspiracy theories are sometimes defended on the grounds that they uncover evidence of bad behaviour by political leaders, they do much more harm than good, with some resulting in the deaths of large numbers of people. There can be no clearer indication that something has gone wrong with our intellectual and political culture than the fact that conspiracy theories have become mainstream. When they are dangerous, we cannot afford to ignore them. At the same time, refuting them by rational argument is difficult because conspiracy theorists discount or reject evidence that disproves their theories. As conspiracy theories are so often smokescreens for political ends, we need to come up with political as well as intellectual responses if we are to have any hope of defeating them.
