The Counter-Enlightenment arguments of authors like Robison are today more relevant than ever, since the politics of the West remain a legacy of his era, to the extent that even conservatives ultimately derive their political philosophy from Locke and rely on terminology based on the seating arrangements of the French National Assembly. Though it was soon forgotten, Proofs . . . has had a lasting impact; indeed, we live in times awash with conspiracy theories. But if the truth is told, and I am one of the many that is going to tell it, you should want the truth over the lie, I saw in a movie once, where the man punched another man two times, first time was for hurting his feelings, the second one was because he stood on the values of the truth, which was what hurt his feelings, needless to say, the truth hurts. Conspiracy or Faith, is a writing that attacks the values of where we need to be standing in our lives, John 10:10 talks about it very clearly, and in this book, this verse is talked about a lot, why, because that is a value of our faith that we really need to fully understand, simply put, either we are going to live by faith, and then live with God forever, or, we are going to accept the cases of the conspiracy, and live with the devil forever.

Allen and Abraham here attempt to make the case that the events of recent world history, from the Bolshevik Revolution forward, have been brought into being and controlled by a relatively small group of insiders, mostly international banking magnates and (later on) the Council on Foreign Relations. While it's certainly conspiracy theory, Allen and Abraham have done a fine job of backing up their assertions with a huge amount of primary and secondary source material (just looking up the titles in the bibliography took me the better part of two hours). Whether you're a fan of conspiracy theory or not, the facts presented, and the conclusions drawn, in this book, are thought-provoking and outrageous.
