Consolidation Analyses of Soils focuses on the consolidation of fully saturated soils. It occurs when stress is applied to a soil that causes the soil particles to pack together more tightly, therefore reducing volume. Other than that, every type of soils has their own settlements. The major factors that influence settlement is soil permeability, soil drainage, load to be placed on the soil and water table. The effected of soil settlements causing building to crack, road will be damage, tree collapse and so on. This project to determine consolidation settlement within 90% degree of consolidation and it's estimation of time for settlement in soft soil calculations. Selection for the location of conducted an experiment of soft soils is at upgrading Federal Road 3 from Kuantan (KM9) to Pekan (KM46), Pahang Daml Makmur. The apparatus used an experiment is Oedometer Test. Program used in the oedemeter test is DS7 and the method used to determine the time is square root. This apparatus can give the value of the soil settlement based on the calculation been made. Besides that, the highest value of preconsolidation pressure (Pc) is 100 kPa can be obtained from the experiment graph void ratio (e) versus pressure. Results from the analysis showed that the highest consolidation settlement is 56.12mm meanwhile the lowest consolidation settlement is 25.5mm. Then, the value highest time to reach 90% degree for consolidation settlement is 2.75 years and lowest is 0.08 years. The value consolidation settlement and time to reach 90% degree of consolidation settlement can be used to predict the settlement for the soil that can predict the cause impact to the structure. -Author.
