Start with one or many of these 100+ rigorously researched, ultra-practical action steps: Co-create and collaborate Get obsessed with accessibility Demand diverse teams Commit to self-care Make ethics a competitive edge Be mindful of privilege Create for empowerment, not exploitation With a humorous and irreverent tone, Small reveals how when we release unnecessary judgement and become action-oriented, we can clarify the complicated business of achieving an ethical practice in the creative industries. Discover the power of incremental, positive changes in our daily work-lives and the fulfillment of purposeful work.

It’s a fascinating subject and I wholeheartedly recommend the book for anyone who’s working in the creative industry or is curious about the world around them." - Sophie Robinson (DIY SOS, the Great British Interior Design Challenge, This Morning) How often do you notice the texture of a painted wall or the scent of a friend’s house and, importantly, how they make you feel? Connect your observations and your emotions and transform your creative practice with this essential toolbox packed full of exercises, tips, stunning images and personal experiences from dynamic artist Philippa Stanton. Book Good An Introduction to Ethics in Graphic Design

Download or read book Good An Introduction to Ethics in Graphic Design written by Lucienne Roberts and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2019-01-10 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Consider this simple conundrum: is it possible to be a bad good designer or a good bad designer for that matter? If the answer is yes then which is preferable and what does this reveal about the relationship between ethics and design practice? Good: An Introduction to Ethics in Graphic Design seeks to answer these questions. Graphic design is in ethical flux. Good comes at a time of growing disenchantment with style-led design solutions and the pursuit of self-expression alone and yet vacuous design judgements are still made without any real analysis of the criteria used. The terms good and bad are repeatedly applied without qualification whilst the relationship between personal and professional ethics is far too contentious to do any more than give cursory consideration. Despite recent manifestos and themed publications on design for good graphic designers have yet to examine what such terms really mean: in a time of relativism it has been far too divisive to do so. Good takes philosophy as its starting point but is not a philosophy book. It seeks to marry abstract ideas with practical application, removing some of the mystique that surrounds philosophy and highlighting its relevance for us all. Designers are people. This book seeks to engage designers in a debate about their profession and in an analysis of their value and worth. The decisions we make define us, in our ethical choices we reveal who we are.

Book Mindprint the subconscious art code

Download or read book Mindprint the subconscious art code written by Edmond Furter and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2014-04-11 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Visual archetypes are the DNA of culture. In artefacts and artworks, where archaeo-astronomers see ancient star maps, archaeologists see cultural traditions, and anthropologists see initiation secrets, appear a standard sequence of types, on an axial grid. Structural archaeology uses constellations as myth maps to find the structure of our perception. All inspired artists, in the Stone, Ice, Bronze and Iron Ages; Babylonians, Egyptians, Chinese, Celts, Mayans, Vikings and moderns, subconsciously express mindprint, our eternal artefact. The sixteen clusters of attributes are demonstrated in 200 examples of famous art and rock art works from every continent and culture. Archetypes are statistically proven, and their 'camouflage' is explained in terms of archaeology, anthropology, art history, psychology, philosophy, archaeo-astronomy, esoterica and spirituality. Readers will never look at art, artists or culture as a cumulative, learned or evolved craft again.

Book THE NEW THEORY OF CONSCIOUSNESS

Download or read book THE NEW THEORY OF CONSCIOUSNESS written by DELANIN FADAHUNSY and published by Author House. This book was released on 2011-09 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This new theory by observation and deduction, identifies that consciousness originated from nothing(zero; at the origin of living cells) and progressed in a gradual continuum through plant (vegetative) to reptiles to mammals to humans, illuminating how organisms attained those different levels, including the 'Permanent Access Memory (PAM) Hypothesis' in gaining self-consciousness. This theory discusses that mammals can only sleep at the level of reptilian consciousness (the sleep-wake consciousness) as the mammalian and human consciousness levels are sharp, focused cognitive states at which sleep is impossible. Rapid Eye Movement Behavioural Disorder (RBD) is the first safety net preventing mammals, at sleep, from falling through the consciousness-continuum into coma (vegetate consciousness) or death, and sleepwalking is the last vital safety net, if and when RBD fails; because even though a necessity for sleep, the reptilian consciousness is unsafe for mammals, due to the danger of sleeping through the Consciousness - Continuum to coma. It has now revealed, quite unexpectedly, the fact that in the state of consciousness referred to as sleepwalking, any act of aggression is impossible. Key word: Consciousness-Continuum. Updates, additions, discussions or contributions are available and welcome on www.delaninfadahunsysconsciousness.co.uk
