This paper reviews suggested application times for 2,4-D, glyphosate (Vision) and hexazinone (Velpar L, Pronone) as documented in the literature. Emphasis was placed on those results relevant to boreal conditions. Maritime studies and others are discussed separately, since climate and species with potential for competition with conifers are different than in the boreal forest of northern Ontario.
