Download or read book Handbook of Multisensor Data Fusion written by Martin Liggins II and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-01-06 with total page 872 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the years since the bestselling first edition, fusion research and applications have adapted to service-oriented architectures and pushed the boundaries of situational modeling in human behavior, expanding into fields such as chemical and biological sensing, crisis management, and intelligent buildings. Handbook of Multisensor Data Fusion: Theory and Practice, Second Edition represents the most current concepts and theory as information fusion expands into the realm of network-centric architectures. It reflects new developments in distributed and detection fusion, situation and impact awareness in complex applications, and human cognitive concepts. With contributions from the world’s leading fusion experts, this second edition expands to 31 chapters covering the fundamental theory and cutting-edge developments that are driving this field. New to the Second Edition— · Applications in electromagnetic systems and chemical and biological sensors · Army command and combat identification techniques · Techniques for automated reasoning · Advances in Kalman filtering · Fusion in a network centric environment · Service-oriented architecture concepts · Intelligent agents for improved decision making · Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software tools From basic information to state-of-the-art theories, this second edition continues to be a unique, comprehensive, and up-to-date resource for data fusion systems designers.

Download or read book Systems Analysis and Modeling in Defense written by R. Huber and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 886 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the proceedings of an interna tional symposium devoted to Modeling and Analysis of Defense Processes in the context of land/air warfare. It was sponsored by Panel VII (on Defense Applications of Operational Research) of NATO's Defense Research Group (DRG) and took place 27-29 July 1982 at NATO headquarters in Brussels. Except perhaps for the Theater-Level Gaming and Analysis Workshop, sponsored by the Office of united 1 states Naval Research in 1977 , this symposium was the first international scientific meeting on Operations Research/Systems Analysis in the area of land/air war fare since the conference on Modeling Land Battle Systems 2 for Military Planning sponsored by NATO's Special Pro gramme Panel on Systems Science in 1974. That conference dealt primarily with modeling small unit (company, bat talion) engagements and, to a lesser extent, large unit (corps, theater) campaigns with principal emphasis on attrition processes and movement in combat. It was considered as rather successful in that it revealed the state-of-the art around 1972 and identified problem areas and promising approaches for future developments. lWith regard to foreign attendance, this wo- shop was largely limited to participants from the United Kingdom and the Federal Republic of Germany (see L.J. Low: Theater-Level Gaming and Analysis Workshop for Force Planning, Vol II-Summary, Discus sion of Issues and Requirements for Research, SRI Report, May, 1981).

This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 563 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Control and Dynamic Systems: Advances in Theory and Applications, Volume 52: Integrated Technology Methods and Applications in Aerospace System Design discusses the various techniques and applications in aerospace systems. This book presents automation and integration techniques in optimizing aircraft structural design. It also covers a number of technologies used in aerospace systems such as active flutter suppression, flight control configuration, aeroassisted plane change missions, flight control systems, and impaired aircraft. This book concludes by demonstrating some modeling issues in command, control, and communication networks. This book is a significant reference source for engineers involved in aerospace systems design.

Download or read book Toward a Science of Command Control and Communications written by Carl R. Jones and published by AIAA (American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics). This book was released on 1993 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To properly engineer systems to provide unity of effort in command and control systems, it is necessary to have a science of command, control, and communications (C3). This book, the results of the Joint Directors of Laboratories Basic Research Group Program, is a collection of papers toward the goal of a science of C3. The topics include the logic of data fusion, command and control decision systems modeling and behavior, experimental findings, models of command and control, and models of C3 architectures. This variety provides the reader with state-of-the-art perspective on concepts, models, and experiments to understand command, control, and communications. The results of a focused DoD basic research program in command, control and communications will be of particular interest to professionals and students working in the C3 field.

Download or read book Realizing the Potential of C4I written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 1999-06-17 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rapid progress in information and communications technologies is dramatically enhancing the strategic role of information, positioning effective exploitation of these technology advances as a critical success factor in military affairs. These technology advances are drivers and enablers for the "nervous system" of the militaryâ€"its command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) systemsâ€"to more effectively use the "muscle" side of the military. Authored by a committee of experts drawn equally from the military and commercial sectors, Realizing the Potential of C4I identifies three major areas as fundamental challenges to the full Department of Defense (DOD) exploitation of C4I technologyâ€"information systems security, interoperability, and various aspects of DOD process and culture. The book details principles by which to assess DOD efforts in these areas over the long term and provides specific, more immediately actionable recommendations. Although DOD is the focus of this book, the principles and issues presented are also relevant to interoperability, architecture, and security challenges faced by government as a whole and by large, complex public and private enterprises across the economy.
