Il volume si presenta suddiviso in varie parti rispettivamente dedicate: all’esame specifico dei nuovi meccanismi istituzionali che governano il complesso fenomeno delle ispezioni e della vigilanza in materia di sicurezza sul lavoro alle linee di sviluppo del nuovo apparato sanzionatorio così come individuato dal d.lgs. n. 81/2008 e successivamente modificato dal d.lgs. 106/2009, con particolare riferimento: al procedimento ispettivo e sanzionatorio, amministrativo e penale, ai limiti di applicabilità dei poteri degli organi di vigilanza (prescrizione, disposizione, diffida), alla lettura dell’apparato punitivo fra contravvenzioni e sanzioni amministrative, alla responsabilità diretta dell’ente, alle condizioni di estinzione agevolata dell’illecito, all’esercizio dei diritti della persona offesa all’analisi dell’apparato sanzionatorio e alla puntuale individuazione di tutte le ipotesi sanzionatorie previste dal nuovo testo unico, anche mediante apposite tabelle che individuano: la fattispecie illecita, la reazione punitiva, le forme di estinzione agevolata dell’illecito Infine viene proposta: la normativa e la prassi amministrativa di principale rilievo, accanto alla modulistica riguardante le fasi principali del procedimento sanzionatorio penale e amministrativo.

Book excerpt: The word conservation, when used in the context of the preservation of built heritage, implies an intrinsically complex concept that evolved over time, since it has been influenced by the perception of history throughout time. This volume emphasises why an understanding of the cultural evolution of the conservation approach must be considered a prerequisite for architects and engineers if they are to cooperate in full harmony with historic-artistic culture for the preservation of global built heritage. In particular, the volume highlights how, during the second half of the last century, the preservation process also involved engineering – the science of making practical applications of knowledge – which, for a long time, made an uncritical use of techniques and materials and devised interventions on historical heritage that were heavily invasive. The volume also devotes special attention to the problems related to seismic risk, to which Italy, Greece and Portugal are particularly prone. Problems that emerge during the crisis and reconstruction phases are dealt with in detail, as is scheduled maintenance, as this latter approach always constitutes an improvement in the performance of the monument and is the most appropriate tool for the conservation of the built heritage. Finally, the volume collects examples of building restoration with case studies of many outstanding monuments. The work will appeal to professionals and academics in the broader fields of civil engineering (both geotechnical and structural engineering), architecture, art history, the history of architecture, restoration and cultural heritage management. Book excerpt: The nEU-Med project is part of the Horizon 2020 programme, in the ERC Advanced project category. It began in October 2015 and the University of Siena is the host institution of the project. The project is focussed upon two Tuscan riverine corridors leading from the Gulf of Follonica in the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Colline Metallifere. It aims to document and analyze the form and timeframe of economic growth in this part of the Mediterranean, which took place between the 7th and the 12thc. Central to this is an understanding of the processes of change in human settlements, in the natural and farming landscapes in relation to the exploitation of resources, and in the implementation of differing political strategies. This volume presents the multi-disciplinary research focussed upon the key site of the project, Vetricella, and its territory. Vetricella is thought to be the site of Valli, a royal property in the Tuscan march. It is the only Early Medieval property to be extensively studied in Italy. Located on Italy’s Tyrrhenian coast, the archaeology and history of this site provide new insights on estate management, metal production and wider Mediterranean relations in the later first millennium. Apart from reports on the archaeology, the finds from excavations and environmental studies, three essays consider the wider European historical and archaeological context of Vetricella. Future monographs will feature studies by members of the project team on aspects of Vetricella, its finds and territory.
