Book Clinical Medicine for Nurses Classic Reprint

Download or read book Clinical Medicine for Nurses Classic Reprint written by Paul Henry Ringer and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-11-15 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Clinical Medicine for Nurses The following chapters represent the substance of lec tures on medical diseases that I have delivered for sev eral years at the Asheville Mission Hospital. I have been impelled to write them out, as in no text book for nurses that Ihave seen did I feel that the subjects were taken up in sufficient detail, while in all textbooks on medicine there were far too many minutiae for the pupil nurse to attempt to master. The object of these lectures is to place in concrete form a fairly detailed description of the points in the various diseases that nurses will be expected to oh serve and interpret, and also to form a basis upon which class-room lessons can be assigned and quizzes held, the teacher amplifying as he sees fit. It will be noted that the bacteriology and pathology of diseases, save in a very few instances, have been but sketchily traced. The main points dwelt upon have been symptoms and their meaning, complications and their detection, as far as the nurse is concerned. Physical signs have been wholly set aside. I do not feel that any nurse's mind should be burdened with their description and significance. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book excerpt: The most important fact about the coronavirus pandemic that turned the world upside down in 2020 is that our response to it has been an epic overreaction driven by a disastrous confluence of public and private interests—all of them purporting to “follow the science.” Since the lockdowns began, millions of Americans have relied on the reporting of Alex Berenson. Exposing the hysteria and manipulation behind the worst failure of public policy since World War I, this clear-eyed journalist has been a critical source of reason and truth. The product of relentless investigation and research, Pandemia explains how an illness that many people will never even know they had became the occasion for economically ruinous lockdowns and the suppression of personal freedom on a previously unimaginable scale. Dispassionate, factual, and untainted by any agenda other than telling the truth, this is the account that pandemic-weary Americans desperately need.
