Book Success has a name Jesus Christ

Download or read book Success has a name Jesus Christ written by Tamara Demontis and published by Tamara Demontis. This book was released on with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is based on real events. Christ lives! This is the great truth that these lovingly written lines seek to convey, for nothing is as true as what is written in the most widely read book in the world, the Bible. In this superficial world, far too little is said about people who have experienced real miracles through their spiritual conversion to Jesus Christ, although it is now known that many of the world's celebrities also acknowledge their success in faith. Having had the good fortune to know some of them personally, I have been fascinated by the fact that most of them have become successful in all areas after the deepest falls in their lives. Especially today, many people dream of easy success; the system teaches us that we don't need God for that. But today I can testify that without Jesus Christ in our lives, we cannot experience the true core of success that God has in store for each one of us.

Book Between Marx and Christ

Download or read book Between Marx and Christ written by James Bentley and published by Verso Books. This book was released on 2020-05-05 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christianity has for centuries been the dominant religion in Europe and in much of the world beyond. Marxism has inspried the widest and deepest social movements of modern times. The encounters between the two have been correspondingly arduous and complex, ranging from drawn combat to dialogue. In this absorbing study, James Bentley reconstructs one key sequence in the history of the relationship: the dialogue between Marxists and Christians in the German-speaking countries of Europe over the past hundred years. Bentley offers a rich and detailed discussion of the explorations, debates and controversies of the period. The Christian writers discussed here include Blumhardt, Barth and Solle; among Marxists, such contrasting figures as Kautsky and Bloch receive concentrated attention. The historical and political settings of the dialogue are constantly present in Bentley's study-from the First World War to the Vietnamese revolution, from the rise of Stalin to the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. Between Marx and Christ makes a fascinating scholarly contribution to the history of European thought-and casts unexpected light on the intellectual orgiins of latter-day "theology of liberation."

L/4) follows an annotated bibliography of the Western and Chinese writings on Jesus Christ in China and a general index with glossary. The iconography, i.e., the attempts of the Western missionaries and the Chinese to portray Jesus in an artistic way, will be presented in the fifth volume of this collection (vol. L/5).

Book Mission Dialog und Friedliche Koexistenz Mission Dialogue and Peaceful Co Existence

Download or read book Mission Dialog und Friedliche Koexistenz Mission Dialogue and Peaceful Co Existence written by Andrea König and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2010 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. The special volume in the series Glaube und Denken contains papers presented by 26 theologians from 12 different countries. The authors convened at the university of Regensburg for a week-long International Summer School. They pondered how mission and peaceful co-existence can be achieved under newly emerging conditions. They observed a rise of nationalistic and fundamentalist currents in many Asian countries in which Christians are often a minority. Furthermore, developments in Germany, such as secularization and the increasing number of believers of other religions through the influx of immigrants, show the urgency to reflect on this new situation. The collected papers touch topics such as education, ecumenism, and history. Most of the participants are students of the Regensburg systematic theologian Hans Schwarz whose special fields of interest are mirrored in these topics.

Book The Confessionalist Homiletics of Lucas Osiander 1534 1604

Download or read book The Confessionalist Homiletics of Lucas Osiander 1534 1604 written by Sivert Angel and published by Mohr Siebeck. This book was released on 2014-11-26 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lucas Osiander (1534-1604) was an influential preacher of the Lutheran orthodoxy. As a Wuerttemberg court preacher and superintendent, he played a central role when the country was established as one of the leading Lutheran forces in the Empire. Osiander preached to a wide audience in a time when sermons were a privileged form of communication and when preachers could address and negotiate the central interests in society. Using confessionalization theory, Sivert Angel studies Osiander's preaching in its political and theological context and shows how Osiander as a preacher could exert political influence. By analyzing Osiander's sermons in light of his own homiletic, the author describes how Osiander's role as a preacher may be traced in his sermons' rhetoric structures and in his use of theological concepts. The discussion of Osiander's theory and practice of preaching documents the ways that Osiander's sermons reinforced the existing political and social order and portrays central aspects of theology and piety in the later sixteenth century.

Book Schleiermacher s Preaching Dogmatics and Biblical Criticism

Download or read book Schleiermacher s Preaching Dogmatics and Biblical Criticism written by Catherine L. Kelsey and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2007-05-25 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Friedrich Schleiermacher, the "father of modern theology," found his voice first in preaching. This book demonstrates how Schleiermacher moved between the critical reading of Scripture, the proclamation of Christian faith to congregations over a forty-five-year period, and, eventually, the work of theology in all its disciplines. Schleiermacher's Preaching, Dogmatics, and Biblical Criticism is the first work to fully unveil this interaction by focusing on Schleiermacher's 228 known sermons on the Gospel of John. Kelsey shows in detail 1) how the central insights of his theology emerged first in his preaching, and 2) that his dogmatic writings provided a context within which these insights could be related to all the major doctrinal themes of Christian faith. The study concludes by drawing implications for theological reflection and its relation to worship life in our own time.
