Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Johnny and I had no idea when we rescued two human babies, from the clutches of a witch and a dark fae, that our lives would be further changed even more so than they already had been. The wish I made that was granted years ago had changed not only our lives but the lives of all we loved. We retracted our wings as we left the lavender cobbled path, stepping through the protective portal shield into Eadrom Castle where we would welcome our newest proteges Celinda and Zephyr to their new home. A war was upon us; they were the chosen ones to lead. Enter Fairies, Trolls, Ghosts, Witches & Demons, Angels, and now powerful Nephilim’s. Mix in a little maturity with age & lots of fairy dust and you have my story of an amazing adventure. This is where Johnny and CT’s story ends, and Celinda & Zephyr begins. Now comes the grand conclusion to the epic Coming of Age Fantasy Series starring beloved Chelsea Thomas AKA CT and Johnny Granger AKA Grasshopper. First came Chasing the Lights, books one-four, Embracing the Lights Saga, and now Protecting the Lights.

Earths astronomers have been tracking an asteroid. The government forbids telling citizens when it will strike, but are told to stay inside. Book Female Subjects in Black and White

Download or read book Female Subjects in Black and White written by Elizabeth Abel and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2023-09-01 with total page 391 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This landmark collaboration between African American and white feminists goes to the heart of problems that have troubled feminist thinking for decades. Putting the racial dynamics of feminist interpretation center stage, these essays question such issues as the primacy of sexual difference, the universal nature of psychoanalytic categories, and the role of race in the formation of identity. They offer new ways of approaching African American texts and reframe our thinking about the contexts, discourses, and traditions of the American cultural landscape. Calling for the racialization of whiteness and claiming that psychoanalytic theory should make room for competing discourses of spirituality and diasporic consciousness, these essays give shape to the many stubborn incompatibilities—as well as the transformative possibilities—between white feminist and African American cultural formations. Bringing into conversation a range of psychoanalytic, feminist, and African-derived spiritual perspectives, these essays enact an inclusive politics of reading. Often explosive and always provocative, Female Subjects in Black and White models a new cross-racial feminism.

Book Anna the Voice of the Magdalenes

Download or read book Anna the Voice of the Magdalenes written by Claire Heartsong and published by Hay House, Inc. This book was released on 2017-11-28 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this channelled sequel to the international bestseller Anna, Grandmother of Jesus, we journey with Anna, the Holy Family and 18 other Magdalene–Essenes as they travel to France and Britain after Jesus’s crucifixion and resurrection. This book gives a completely new perspective on the gnostic Mount Carmel Essene mystery school, in which Jesus and Mary Magdalene took initiations, as well as on the Holy Family and the Magdalene Order. Through Claire Heartsong, Anna tells not only the story of Jesus, but also the story of the women who surrounded him throughout his life. The book reveals the deeper mysteries they have safeguarded for aeons of time, including aspects of Jesus’s personal life not recorded in history – his relationships and, most radically, his offspring. In this one-of-a-kind story, Claire shares the information she received from Anna on the ‘Seeding of Light’ – the dispersion of Anna, Mother Mary and Jesus’s enlightened descendants whose ‘bloodline’ acts as a living catalyst for the awakening of the Christ–Magdalene potential today. Not only does this book give a new view of the Christ drama 2,000 years ago but, more importantly, it offers the potential to lift the suppressed Divine Feminine voice in our time.

Book excerpt: A New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice "Pagan Light is mesmerizing. Every detail is compelling. I felt I was reading a family history of a family far more interesting than mine." --Edmund White, author of Our Young Man A rich, intimate embrace of Capri, which was a magnet for artistic renegades and a place of erotic refuge Isolated and arrestingly beautiful, the island of Capri has been a refuge for renegade artists and writers fleeing the strictures of conventional society from the time of Augustus, who bought the island in 29 BC after defeating Antony and Cleopatra, to the early twentieth century, when the poet and novelist Jacques d’Adelswärd-Fersen was in exile there after being charged with corrupting minors, to the 1960s, when Truman Capote spent time on the island. We also meet the Marquis de Sade, Goethe, Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, Compton Mackenzie, Rilke, Lenin, and Gorky, among other astonishingly vivid characters. Grounded in a deep intimacy with Capri and full of captivating anecdotes, Jamie James’s Pagan Light tells how a tiny island served as a wildly permissive haven for people—queer, criminal, sick, marginalized, and simply crazy—who had nowhere else to go.
