Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book in the series of "Charlie the Great White Horse" "Charlie the Great White Horse and the Story of the Magic Jingle Bells," is a children's/ adult Christmas novella that evokes: the adventure, fantasy and magical happy-endings, of a simpler time in America. This story is set in the early 1900's, in the mythical town of Centerville, Indiana. Louis Parks is a: ten year old red haired, freckle faced boy, who is a little small for his age, and found to be in constant trouble with his mom, because he never finishes his daily-chores; due to his endless daydreaming. Louis envisions himself the hero in his fantasies; but his real life is quite different. Louis has found a special friendship with Charlie-a very friendly, but somewhat strange barnyard-horse; of Louis' neighbor, Mr. Beamer. Charlie has his own secrets though. Although he appears to be: an old working cart-horse, soon to be replaced by the new "horseless-buggy" technology, he is in fact; the last of a very special breed of horse. He is an "Arion," from the "ancient times," who can achieve immortality by performing magical acts of daring and courage-when called upon. As the story unfolds in the months before Christmas, Charlie, Louis and Chug Martin are thrown into circumstances wrought: with danger, daring, and intrigue. They must: foil the plot of a trio of horse-thieves from Saint Louis, who arrive in Centerville-during the annual county fair-to steal Jupiter, the great racehorse, who has come to run in Centerville's famous "Gazette Stakes." Charlie, Louis and Chug perform: heroic deeds, ultimately acts of great courage, bravery and determination; in ridding the town of the three Missouri Rats- Black Jack Tilly, Cool Joe Biggs and Rags Martin. This wonderful Christmas fable is about: tried-and-true-values and good-morals that all children; should take to heart. This is a: coming-of-age story that should be relevant for children of all ages. The pre-quell to this book is: The Journey to Northumberland and the Rise of the Undertoads.

For instance, as CEO of the Taft Broadcasting Company, Charlie often held the annual meeting of shareholders at an auditorium inside Taft's Kings Island theme park near Cincinnati, Ohio. Shareholders, along with their invitation to the meeting that arrived in the mail, would receive a ticket to enter the theme park with its many thrill rides and other entertaining attractions. A few people bought one share of the company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, just to get the free ticket to the park. Taft was an entertainment company, and the meeting of shareholders was an opportunity to showcase their talents. Charlie's dynamic speeches, together with music, video, and the help of Yogi Bear and Fred Flintstone, dazzled the shareholder audience. Charlie is a speaker with a touch of genius. At one unusual meeting of senior management and the board of directors where, due to a combination of corporate setbacks and uncertainty, the mood was somber and the faces long. Charlie gave the opening address, spoke candidly and humorously about the challenges faced, turned up the tempo, congratulated all on their great work and the bright future ahead. By the time he finished, the entire gathering was standing and cheering like their team had just won the World Series. In this book you will find much of the magical character of Charlie Mechem through his recollections of a wide variety of individuals and many of the "life lessons" which he learned from them. Book Poetical Works of the Characturess and the Writing Caruso

Download or read book Poetical Works of the Characturess and the Writing Caruso written by Sunnie D. Kidd and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-10-06 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Americans, as a whole, are not and never have been poetic people. Yes, we do have a few exceptions that prove the rule—Dickinson, Poe, Frost. Nonetheless, we are a country steeped in missions of religious and economic freedom, of the corrosive mythologies of manifest destiny, and of hypernationalistic exceptionalism. The legitimation of pursuit is enshrined in our founding documents. Thus, it is a matter of great consequence to come upon not one but two true American poets, such as the Characturess and the Writing Caruso, both of whom have cultural roots in inherently poetic communities. Their voices are able to access a primal dimension, unfettered by anthropocentric superficialities.

  • Pages : 132 pages

Book excerpt: A Sweet Place to Play is a collection of poems the author wrote over a thirty year period. They reflect his moods, loves and observations as well has his good-byes and revelations. Living in Arizona, riding motorcycles, playing his part in life, all contribute to poetry that is interesting, fun to read aloud and quite meaningful. For the most part, the works are not traditional. For instance "Castaway" is written in three sentences, yet it tells of sinking despair, but conclude with hope. Another talks about man and his tears. Enjoy.
