Chariot of Flesh is the story of Baroness Carla, deceased at the introduction, with recollections of the woman's sensuality by her many paramours, told to a questing former lover. Alfred Chester (who who wrote this book as "Malcolm Nesbit") has largely vanished from the literary scene, but at one point in the late '50s achieved status for Jamie Is My Heart's Desire. He died in Israel in 1971 of a drug overdose, after having twice been ejected from the Beat paradise of Morocco.
