Download or read book Time Varying Discrete Linear Systems written by Aristide Halanay and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discrete-time systems arise as a matter of course in modelling biological or economic processes. For systems and control theory they are of major importance, particularly in connection with digital control applications. If sampling is performed in order to control periodic processes, almost periodic systems are obtained. This is a strong motivation to investigate the discrete-time systems with time-varying coefficients. This research monograph contains a study of discrete-time nodes, the discrete counterpart of the theory elaborated by Bart, Gohberg and Kaashoek for the continuous case, discrete-time Lyapunov and Riccati equations, discrete-time Hamiltonian systems in connection with input-output operators and associated Hankel and Toeplitz operators. All these tools aim to solve the problems of stabilization and attenuation of disturbances in the framework of H2- and H-control theory. The book is the first of its kind to be devoted to these topics and consists mainly of original, recently obtained results.

Book excerpt: Many of the practical techniques developed for treating systems described by periodic differential equations have arisen in different fields of application; con sequently some procedures have not always been known to workers in areas that might benefit substantially from them. Furthermore, recent analytical methods are computationally based so that it now seems an opportune time for an applications-oriented book to be made available that, in a sense, bridges the fields in which equations with periodic coefficients arise and which draws together analytical methods that are implemented readily. This book seeks to ftll that role, from a user's and not a theoretician's view. The complexities of periodic systems often demand a computational approach. Matrix treatments therefore are emphasized here although algebraic methods have been included where they are useful in their own right or where they establish properties that can be exploited by the matrix approach. The matrix development given calls upon the nomenclature and treatment of H. D'Angelo, Linear Time Varying Systems: Analysis and Synthesis (Boston: Allyn and Bacon 1970) which deals with time-varying systems in general. It is recommended for its modernity and comprehensive approach to systems analysis by matrix methods. Since the present work is applications-oriented no attempt has been made to be complete theoretically by way of presenting all proofs, existence theorems and so on. These can be found in D'Angelo and classic and well-developed treatises such as McLachlan, N. W. : Theory and application of Mathieu functions.

Download or read book Linear Parameter Varying and Time Delay Systems written by Corentin Briat and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-09-03 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides an introduction to the analysis and control of Linear Parameter-Varying Systems and Time-Delay Systems and their interactions. The purpose is to give the readers some fundamental theoretical background on these topics and to give more insights on the possible applications of these theories. This self-contained monograph is written in an accessible way for readers ranging from undergraduate/PhD students to engineers and researchers willing to know more about the fields of time-delay systems, parameter-varying systems, robust analysis, robust control, gain-scheduling techniques in the LPV fashion and LMI based approaches. The only prerequisites are basic knowledge in linear algebra, ordinary differential equations and (linear) dynamical systems. Most of the results are proved unless the proof is too complex or not necessary for a good understanding of the results. In the latter cases, suitable references are systematically provided. The first part pertains on the representation, analysis and control of LPV systems along with a reminder on robust analysis and control techniques. The second part is concerned with the representation and analysis of time-delay systems using various time-domain techniques. The third and last part is devoted to the representation, analysis, observation, filtering and control of LPV time-delay systems. The book also presents many important basic and advanced results on the manipulation of LMIs.

Download or read book Distributed Filtering Control and Synchronization written by Fei Han and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-03-24 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book establishes a unified framework for dealing with typical engineering complications arising in modern, complex, large-scale networks such as parameter uncertainties, missing measurement and cyber-attack. Distributed Filtering, Control and Synchronization is a timely reflection on methods designed to handle a series of control and signal-processing issues in modern industrial engineering practice in areas like power grids and environmental monitoring. It exploits the latest techniques to handle the emerging mathematical and computational challenges arising from, among other things, the dynamic topologies of distributed systems and in the context of sensor networks and multi-agent systems. These techniques include recursive linear matrix inequalities, local-performance and stochastic analyses and techniques based on matrix theory. Readers interested in the theory and application of control and signal processing will find much to interest them in the new models and methods presented in this book. Academic researchers can find ideas for developing their own research, graduate and advanced undergraduate students will be made aware of the state of the art, and practicing engineers will find methods for addressing practical difficulties besetting modern networked systems
Download or read book Linear Time Varying Systems written by Henri Bourlès and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-04-15 with total page 653 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this book is to propose a new approach to analysis and control of linear time-varying systems. These systems are defined in an intrinsic way, i.e., not by a particular representation (e.g., a transfer matrix or a state-space form) but as they are actually. The system equations, derived, e.g., from the laws of physics, are gathered to form an intrinsic mathematical object, namely a finitely presented module over a ring of operators. This is strongly connected with the engineering point of view, according to which a system is not a specific set of equations but an object of the material world which can be described by equivalent sets of equations. This viewpoint makes it possible to formulate and solve efficiently several key problems of the theory of control in the case of linear time-varying systems. The solutions are based on algebraic analysis. This book, written for engineers, is also useful for mathematicians since it shows how algebraic analysis can be applied to solve engineering problems. Henri Bourlès is a Professor and holds the industrial automation chair at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers in France. He has been teaching automation for over 20 years in engineering and graduate schools. Bogdan Marinescu is currently research engineer at the French Transmission System Operator (RTE) and Associate Professor at SATIE-Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan.
Download or read book Truncated Predictor Feedback for Time Delay Systems written by Bin Zhou and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-05-29 with total page 494 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a systematic approach to the design of predictor based controllers for (time-varying) linear systems with either (time-varying) input or state delays. Differently from those traditional predictor based controllers, which are infinite-dimensional static feedback laws and may cause difficulties in their practical implementation, this book develops a truncated predictor feedback (TPF) which involves only finite dimensional static state feedback. Features and topics: A novel approach referred to as truncated predictor feedback for the stabilization of (time-varying) time-delay systems in both the continuous-time setting and the discrete-time setting is built systematically Semi-global and global stabilization problems of linear time-delay systems subject to either magnitude saturation or energy constraints are solved in a systematic manner Both stabilization of a single system and consensus of a group of systems (multi-agent systems) are treated in a unified manner by applying the truncated predictor feedback and predictor feedback The properties of the solutions to a class of parametric (differential and difference) Lyapunov matrix equations are presented in detail Detailed numerical examples and applications to the spacecraft rendezvous and formation flying problems are provided to demonstrate the usefulness of the presented theoretical results This book can be a useful resource for the researchers, engineers, and graduate students in the fields of control, applied mathematics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and aerospace engineering.

Download or read book Systematic Modeling and Analysis of Telecom Frontends and their Building Blocks written by Piet Vanassche and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-10-24 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To meet the demands of today's highly competitive market, analog electronics designers must develop their IC designs in a minimum of time. The difference between first- and second-time right seriously affects a company's share of the market. Analog designers are therefore in need for structured design methods together with the theory and tools to support them, especially when pushing the performance limits in high-performance designs. Systematic Modeling and Analysis of Telecom Frontends and Their Building Blocks aims to help designers in speeding up telecommunication frontend design by offering an in-depth understanding of the frontend's behavior together with methods and algorithms that support designers in bringing this understanding to practice. The book treats topics such as time-varying phase-locked loop stability, noise in mixing circuits, oscillator injection locking, oscillator phase noise behavior, harmonic oscillator dynamics and many more. In doing so, it always starts from a theoretical foundation that is both rigorous and general. Phase-locked loop and mixer analysis, for example, are grounded upon a general framework for time-varying small-signal analysis. Likewise, analysis of harmonic oscillator transient behavior and oscillator phase noise analysis are treated as particular applications of a general framework for oscillator perturbation analysis. In order to make the book as easy to read as possible, all theory is always accompanied by numerous examples and easy-to-catch intuitive explanations. As such, the book is suited for both computer-aided design engineers looking for general theories and methods, either as background material or for practical implementation in tools, as well as for practicing circuit designers looking for help and insight in dealing with a particular application or a particular high-performance design problem.
