This book was released on 2013-11-01 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The emergent powers of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) are drawing attention as they change the political and economic map of the 21st century. But does each country have the institutional framework needed to advance its path of development and to effectively address needed reforms with sustainable solutions? With the support of an international network of experts, the Bertelsmann Stiftung has conducted an indicator-based inventory of the state and performance of governance in each BRICS country. Focusing on success factors and policy challenges, this study draws upon the analytic tool of the Sustainable Governance Indicators (SGI), allowing for a cross-national analysis of the need for reform in core policy areas such as economic and social affairs, environmental policies and innovation strategies. At the same time, the capacities of each country's system of governance are explored in each BRICS state. explores the the extent to which problems are identified and strategic solutions implemented in each of the five political systems. By looking at both reform needs and reform capacities, this study points to considerable differences in the prospects for development in each country - prospects which, in some cases, fall short of the expected growth and progress.

Book A Learning Approach to Change

Download or read book A Learning Approach to Change written by Ken Griffiths and published by Gower Publishing, Ltd.. This book was released on 1998 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Constant change is a given for most companies today. What differs is the scale, and the ability of people and organizations to deal with change in a positive, learning environment. Training must adapt too, to respond to the different learning styles of a new generation whose learning needs are the result of working in delayered, leaner, empowered organizations. Griffiths and Williams look at the implications for training and development, drawing on their first-hand experience of being with IBM during an extensive reengineering programme. With the aid of checklists, questions, summaries, 'food for thought' and numerous real-life examples, they show how to improve corporate performance through organized learning. The book underlines the vital importance of linking learning with business needs and evaluating it like any other investment.

Crowd Psychology and Management Cybernetics lead the way. We have the unique chance today to change something that appears to be an everlasting law: that mankind needs a complete breakdown before it can achieve further progress. We have this chance because today we have the tools to change it. The crisis we are witnessing is far from over. And it has the capacity to become the worst crisis this world has seen in centuries. But it is not too late to prevent a disaster. The methods pursued until now, however, lead straight to it. Constantin Malik offers an alternative way in this book.
