Book The Most Complete Car Encyclopedia Volume I AA to Am Full Color Edition

Download or read book The Most Complete Car Encyclopedia Volume I AA to Am Full Color Edition written by Vasilescu Ionut and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2015-10-27 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first volume from a long series of volumes that will cover all the cars ever build around the world. If you are looking for a traditional story about automobiles, this is not the book you are looking for. If you are looking to read and find out about all the car brands and car models, ever made, since the very first Cugnot automobile, until today, this is exactly the book you need. If this is what you are looking for this is probably the best book out there, the one that you always whisked to be published but no one had the patience and determination to accomplish. The book is based on a database that I personally created, one that now includes more than 20.000 car brands and around 150.000 car models. The work on the database has been completed in 2013 after a continuous daily work that has been started in 1991 and lasted more than 50.000 hour. There is a lot of car passion behind all this work and today it continues with keeping the database up to date a work that still requires few daily hours. The book series will be published in volumes, each one covering a small fraction. Book structure: -all the car brands are sorted in alphabetical order -inside each car brand section, all the models are sorted in 4 different categories: series production, concepts and prototypes, race cars and coach-build models. -inside each category all the models are listed in chronological order -each car model has it's own information text, specifications and photos, covering both the inside and out of the cars and all the different important versions. There may be a few cars, where there is a single or no photo; because there were no photos available or the only photos that do exist could not be published because of possible copyright infringement. There also may be a few models were the information is scarce, because it has been lost in time. This first volume covers all the car brands that have a name starting with numbers or starting with letters between Aa to Am, with a total of 567 car brands and 1915 models.

Book The Complete Book of Classic MG Cars

Download or read book The Complete Book of Classic MG Cars written by Ross Alkureishi and published by Motorbooks. This book was released on 2020-11-17 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Complete Book of Classic MG Cars covers all the marque's collectible production saloons and sports cars, from the 14/28 and 14/40 sports cars to the iconic postwar convertibles like the MGA and MGB, as well as latter-day takes on the classic MG formula, such as the RV8. First produced in Oxford, England, in 1924, MG cars proved instantly appealing, with a cheeky spirit that would win the hearts of millions around the globe, not least of all in the United States. This was due in no small part to the fact that the price was as attractive as the styling and the performance. Inexpensive and fun became quintessential MG traits. In this installment of Motorbooks' Complete Book series, author Ross Alkureishi offers a chronological model-by-model marque history. Narratives discuss design, production, and technology, while specification tables highlight key technical and performance data. Hundreds of photos illustrate the vehicles and even include detail shots of engine bays and interiors. Originally formed as a side business, MG became one of the world's most recognized car brands. From prewar saloons to fast and affordable two-seat sports cars in the pre- and postwar periods, MG has exuded fun, thanks to models like the Midgets and Magnettes, the traditionally styled T-Types, and the vehicles that would become the marque’s most recognizable: the MGA, MGB, and MGC. MG would undergo several ownership changes throughout the years, and Alkureishi expertly shows how different ownership groups affected MG cars, good or bad. Along the way, the company competed on racetracks around the world, and Alkureishi describes the most successful of these exploits in complementary sidebars. The Complete Book of Classic MG Cars is the essential guide to this important chapter in the history of motoring.

Book The All American Muscle Car

Download or read book The All American Muscle Car written by Jim Wangers and published by Motorbooks. This book was released on 2013-05-26 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The birth of the muscle car, mid-sized cars with big engines making big horsepower, marked not only a revolution in performance—but also a revolution in marketing. For the first time ever, car manufacturers tailored their product to a youth audience. The genre thrived in the 60s and early 70s and was reborn in the 21st century. The All-American Muscle Car celebrates the fifty-year history of the breed through stunning modern and archival photography, and brilliant essays from today’s top muscle-car writers. Organized by themes, its chapters cover the introduction and early years of muscle; the cultural trends that made muscle cars so wildly popular; the pop culture that surrounded the cars in music, film, and television; and racing, both legal and illegal. Great rivalries are detailed—Camaro versus Mustang versus Firebird versus Challenger versus ‘Cuda, GTO versus Road Runner versus Super Bee versus Chevelle SS versus Buick Gran Sport versus Oldsmobile 4-4-2, and the like. The book also explores the illogical extremes at the end of the classic era, the Plymouth Superbirds, GTOJudges, LS6 Chevelles, Hemi ‘Cudas, W-30 Oldsmobiles, Ram Air IV Pontiacs, Stage I GSX Buicks, and 440/6 Road Runners; the dark years and the death of performance; the rebirth of the muscle car; and the modern interpretations of the breed including the new Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger.
