This book was released on 2002 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book dwells upon intriguing examples and situations that are not generally analysed or discussed in standard textbook and formal couses in physics. In this book, a majority of the examples are from classical physics, which forms an essential part of our education. Each of the six chapters covers a major area of physics, and is subdivided into sections, each of which has a runing theme.

Download or read book Theory of Planetary Atmospheres written by and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 1990-10-16 with total page 497 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our subject is, of course, nothing more than applied physics and chemistry. But in addition to those basic sciences the student of planetary atmospheres needs an overview of atmospheric structure and physical processes as presently understood. This book is intended to help fill that need for both graduate students and research scientists. Although the approach is mainly theoretical, very little basic physics is developed here. Material that is standard fare in third- and fourth-year physics courses is simply absorbed where needed.

Download or read book Atmosphere Ocean and Climate Dynamics written by John Marshall and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 1978-11-16 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students in atmospheric, oceanic, and climate science, Atmosphere, Ocean and Climate Dynamics is an introductory textbook on the circulations of the atmosphere and ocean and their interaction, with an emphasis on global scales. It will give students a good grasp of what the atmosphere and oceans look like on the large-scale and why they look that way. The role of the oceans in climate and paleoclimate is also discussed. The combination of observations, theory and accompanying illustrative laboratory experiments sets this text apart by making it accessible to students with no prior training in meteorology or oceanography.* Written at a mathematical level that is appealing for undergraduates andbeginning graduate students* Provides a useful educational tool through a combination of observations andlaboratory demonstrations which can be viewed over the web* Contains instructions on how to reproduce the simple but informativelaboratory experiments* Includes copious problems (with sample answers) to help students learn thematerial.

Embark on an exciting, adventurous, and dangerous journey through the galaxy with the motley crew of the spaceship Wayfarer in this fun and heart-warming space opera—the sequel to the acclaimed The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. Lovelace was once merely a ship’s artificial intelligence. When she wakes up in a new body, following a total system shut-down and reboot, she has no memory of what came before. As Lovelace learns to negotiate the universe and discover who she is, she makes friends with Pepper, an excitable engineer, who’s determined to help her learn and grow. Together, Pepper and Lovey will discover that no matter how vast space is, two people can fill it together. The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet introduced readers to the incredible world of Rosemary Harper, a young woman with a restless soul and secrets to keep. When she joined the crew of the Wayfarer, an intergalactic ship, she got more than she bargained for—and learned to live with, and love, her rag-tag collection of crewmates. A Closed and Common Orbit is the stand-alone sequel to that beloved debut novel, and is perfect for fans of Firefly, Joss Whedon, Mass Effect, and Star Wars.

Download or read book Spacecraft Systems Engineering written by Peter Fortescue and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-08-24 with total page 700 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This fourth edition of the bestselling Spacecraft Systems Engineering title provides the reader with comprehensive coverage of the design of spacecraft and the implementation of space missions, across a wide spectrum of space applications and space science. The text has been thoroughly revised and updated, with each chapter authored by a recognized expert in the field. Three chapters – Ground Segment, Product Assurance and Spacecraft System Engineering – have been rewritten, and the topic of Assembly, Integration and Verification has been introduced as a new chapter, filling a gap in previous editions. This edition addresses ‘front-end system-level issues’ such as environment, mission analysis and system engineering, but also progresses to a detailed examination of subsystem elements which represents the core of spacecraft design. This includes mechanical, electrical and thermal aspects, as well as propulsion and control. This quantitative treatment is supplemented by an emphasis on the interactions between elements, which deeply influences the process of spacecraft design. Adopted on courses worldwide, Spacecraft Systems Engineering is already widely respected by students, researchers and practising engineers in the space engineering sector. It provides a valuable resource for practitioners in a wide spectrum of disciplines, including system and subsystem engineers, spacecraft equipment designers, spacecraft operators, space scientists and those involved in related sectors such as space insurance. In summary, this is an outstanding resource for aerospace engineering students, and all those involved in the technical aspects of design and engineering in the space sector.

Download or read book 2013 Update To Esoptrics Try To End The Notion Of The Continuum The Absurd Math It Begets written by Edward N. Haas and published by Author House. This book was released on 2014-01-08 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For at least 2,500 years now, one of the most—if not the most—hotly, widely, and often contested issues is the notion of the continuum. It’s a notion which looks upon time, space, locomotion, and change as continuous, which is to say it implies there is no limit to the smallness of the smallest segment of each. Thereby, it necessarily invokes the notion of in¬finite divisibility. The latter then demands mathematical conclusions so mani¬festly self-contradictory, they boggle the mind no less than does the notion of a square cir¬cle. No won¬der, then, they move many a renowned thinker, such as John Locke and David Hume, to proclaim those conclusions “absurd”. See my quotes from them on pages II & VIII.
