Book Remote Sensing and Image Interpretation

Download or read book Remote Sensing and Image Interpretation written by Thomas M. Lillesand and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 1979 with total page 648 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This straightforward introduction to remote sensing provides comprehensive, up-to-date coverage of the subject for students, irrespective of their disciplines of study or the academic department in which remote sensing is taught. All the classical'' elements of aerial photographic interpretation and photogrammetry are described, but equal emphasis is placed on non-photographic sensing systems and the analysis of data from these systems using digital image processing procedures. Includes coverage of image restoration, enhancement, classification, and data merging, and new sensor systems such as the Large Format Camera, solid-state linear arrays, the Shuttle Imaging radar systems, the Landsat Thematic Mapper, the SPOT satellite system, and the NOAA Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer. Also covers imaging spectrometry and lidar systems. Contains extensive illustrations.

Book Close Range Photogrammetry

Download or read book Close Range Photogrammetry written by Thomas Luhmann and published by Wiley. This book was released on 2007-01-09 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An authoritative guide to close range photogrammetry. The first comprehensive modern text on this subject in English, expanded and updated from the German text by Luhmann. This book provides a thorough presentation of the methods, mathematics, systems and applications which comprise the subject of close range photogrammetry, which uses accurate imaging techniques to analyse the three-dimensional shape of a wide range of manufactured and natural objects. Close range photogrammetry, for the most part entirely digital, has become an accepted, powerful and readily available technique for engineers and scientists who wish to utilise images to make accurate 3-D measurements of complex objects. After an introduction, the book provides fundamental mathematics, including orientation, digital imaging processing and 3-D reconstruction methods, as well as presenting a discussion of imaging technology including targeting and illumination, hardware and software systems. Finally it gives a short overview of photogrammetric solutions for typical applications in engineering, manufacturing, medical science, architecture, archaeology and other fields.

Book Structure from Motion in the Geosciences

Download or read book Structure from Motion in the Geosciences written by Jonathan L. Carrivick and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2016-07-15 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Structure from Motion with Multi View Stereo provides hyperscale landform models using images acquired from standard compact cameras and a network of ground control points. The technique is not limited in temporal frequency and can provide point cloud data comparable in density and accuracy to those generated by terrestrial and airborne laser scanning at a fraction of the cost. It therefore offers exciting opportunities to characterise surface topography in unprecedented detail and, with multi-temporal data, to detect elevation, position and volumetric changes that are symptomatic of earth surface processes. This book firstly places Structure from Motion in the context of other digital surveying methods and details the Structure from Motion workflow including available software packages and assessments of uncertainty and accuracy. It then critically reviews current usage of Structure from Motion in the geosciences, provides a synthesis of recent validation studies and looks to the future by highlighting opportunities arising from developments in allied disciplines. This book will appeal to academics, students and industry professionals because it balances technical knowledge of the Structure from Motion workflow with practical guidelines for image acquisition, image processing and data quality assessment and includes case studies that have been contributed by experts from around the world.

Book A Method to Solve Interior and Exterior Camera Calibration Parameters for Image Resection

Download or read book A Method to Solve Interior and Exterior Camera Calibration Parameters for Image Resection written by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and published by . This book was released on 2018-08-27 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An iterative method is presented to solve the internal and external camera calibration parameters, given model target points and their images from one or more camera locations. The direct linear transform formulation was used to obtain a guess for the iterative method, and herein lies one of the strengths of the present method. In all test cases, the method converged to the correct solution. In general, an overdetermined system of nonlinear equations is solved in the least-squares sense. The iterative method presented is based on Newton-Raphson for solving systems of nonlinear algebraic equations. The Jacobian is analytically derived and the pseudo-inverse of the Jacobian is obtained by singular value decomposition.Samtaney, RaviAmes Research CenterCCD CAMERAS; CALIBRATING; PHOTOGRAMMETRY; IMAGES; ITERATIVE SOLUTION; NEWTON-RAPHSON METHOD; NONLINEAR EQUATIONS; FLOW VISUALIZATION; UNIQUENESS...
