Book Call on God s Protection Mr President

Download or read book Call on God s Protection Mr President written by Pastor Jeffrey Daly and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2018-04-18 with total page 38 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are in more than a political battle. We are in a spiritual battle that cries out for a spiritual solution. The good news is that the Living God has given us His time-tested solution, and earlier generations followed that solution, avoiding or ending plagues and wars. It's time for President Trump to follow the example of ten earlier Presidents of the United States to call on God's protection through a national day of repentance. In so doing the President will fulfill the promise in his inaugural address, ensuring that not just our military and law enforcement, but God Himself, will protect us. This national call to repentance follows 2 Chronicles 7:14: "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land." We face ongoing cyber and trade warfare, nuclear attacks, terrorist threats, school shootings, on top of deep division within our nation. God's Hand is needed. When, with encouragement from our President, those who believe in Him take time on one day to pray, fast, and repent, God will hear us again, will forgive our personal and national sins, and heal our land. A former Wall Street lawyer, atheist and New Ager, Jeffrey Daly had an epiphany, repented, and made a decision for Jesus Christ in 1991. Several years later he founded, with his wife Laurie, Jesus Christ Fellowship in Middletown, California. In 2009 he wrote a book, "The Spiritual Battle for the White House." In 2011 he founded National Day of Repentance. Its purpose is to encourage personal and national repentance in this and other nations by which the Lord can purify His body of believers and heal their land.

Book The Oxford Dictionary of American Political Slang

Download or read book The Oxford Dictionary of American Political Slang written by Grant Barrett and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2006-04-21 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here is a wonderful Baedeker to down-and-dirty politics--more than six hundred slang terms straight from the smoke-filled rooms of American political speech. Hatchet Jobs and Hardball: The Oxford Dictionary of American Political Slang illuminates a rich and colorful segment of our language. Readers will find informative entries on slang terms such as Beltway bandit and boondoggle, angry white male and leg treasurer, juice bill and Joe Citizen, banana superpower and the Big Fix. We find not only the meaning and history of familiar terms such as gerrymander, but also of lesser-known terms such as cracking (splitting a bloc of like-minded voters by redistricting) and fair-fight district (which refers to areas redistricted to favor no political party). Each entry includes the definition of the word, its historical background, and illuminating citations, some going back more than 200 years. (We learn, for instance, that a term as seemingly current as political football actually dates back to before the Civil War.) Selected entries will have extended encyclopedic notes. The book also features sidebar essays on topics such as political words in Blogistan; a short history of "big cheese"; all about chads and the 2000 election; the suffix "-gate" and all the related Watergate terms; and the naming of legislation. Political junkies, policy wonks, journalists, and word lovers will find this book addictive reading as well as a reliable guide to one of the more colorful corners of American English.

Book excerpt: Christians worldwide agree there is coming a moment when the true church, comprised of faithful followers of Christ, will be suddenly caught up, snatched away, raptured--to be forever with their Lord. But what will you do, how will you react, if this disappearance does not occur before Antichrists Great Tribulation begins? Are we prepared and equipped to take a stand in a culture, a new world order, that will be passionately opposed to our beliefs? The god-man: seed of Satan is the first in a two-part, pre-wrath rapture thriller that tells the riveting story of the rise of the treacherous Antichrist, the god-man who will come to prominence during the seventieth week of Daniel. As Romiti and his false prophet, Laroque, implement their ambitious plot to rule a global empire, their plans are obstructed by a series of worldwide disasters--war, famine and disease. Much to the surprise of some, the church finds itself a reluctant witness to apocalyptic events that were to be studied--not experienced! Sticks, an evangelical pastor in Mississippi, and Uri, the pastor of a messianic congregation in Jerusalem, have carefully prepared their congregations for a rapture that occurs within the seventieth week of Daniel. Led by these activist pastors and a host of others like them, their congregations boldly engage a hostile global community as the God-fearers courageously live out the gospel in ways that are reminiscent of the early church.
