Book Color Aerial Photography

Download or read book Color Aerial Photography written by Richard S. Driscoll and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shrubs such as antelope bitterbrush, big sagebrush, snowberry, and true mountainmohogany can be identified more consistently on large-scale (1:600-1:1,200) color infrared aerial photographs than on the same scale color aerial photographs. Indentification of relatively large forbs, including Fremont geranium and orange sneezeweed, is also easier on large scale color infrared. Neither film type appeared to give improved information regarding site delineation on smaller scale photographs. Other features of the range environment, including rodent disturbances, can best be identified on color infrared at photo scales up to 1:2,400. All of this depends on obtaining photogrpaphs at the right time of year in respect to phenology of the vegetation.

Book Small Format Aerial Photography

Download or read book Small Format Aerial Photography written by James S. Aber and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2010-05-28 with total page 279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the need for geographical data rapidly expands in the 21st century, so too do applications of small-format aerial photography for a wide range of scientific, commercial and governmental purposes. Small-format Aerial Photography (SFAP) presents basic and advanced principles and techniques with an emphasis on digital cameras. Unmanned platforms are described in considerable detail, including kites, helium and hot-air blimps, model airplanes, and paragliders. Several case studies, primarily drawn from the geosciences, are presented to demonstrate how SFAP is actually used in various applications. Many of these integrate SFAP with ground-based investigations as well as conventional large-format aerial photography, satellite imagery, and other kinds of geographic information. Full-color photographs throughout Case studies from around the globe Techniques presented allow for image resolution impossible to match via traditional aerial photography or satellite datasets Glossary clarifies key terms

Book Small Format Aerial Photography and UAS Imagery

Download or read book Small Format Aerial Photography and UAS Imagery written by James S. Aber and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2019-09-17 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Small Format Aerial Photography and UAS Imagery: Principles, Techniques and Geoscience Applications, Second Edition, provides basic and advanced principles and techniques for Small Format Aerial Photography (SFAP), focusing on manned and unmanned aerial systems, including drones, kites, blimps, powered paragliders, and fixed wing and copter SFAP. The authors focus on everything from digital image processing and interpretation of data, to travel and setup for the best result, making this a comprehensive guide for any user. Nine case studies in a variety of environments, including gullies, high altitudes, wetlands and recreational architecture are included to enhance learning. This new edition includes small unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and discusses changes in legal practices across the globe. In addition, the book presents the history of SFAP, providing background and context for new developments. Provides background and context for new developments in SFAP Covers the legal implications for small format aerial systems in different countries Discusses unmanned aerial systems (drones) and their applications Features new case studies for different applications, including vineyard monitoring and impacts of wind energy
