Download or read book The Elected written by Lonny Lee and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2004 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Deep beneath the city of Jerusalem lies a stone fortress. In this lair hides an evil about to be unleashed upon the world by the Prince of Darkness. This immortal army has been created for one purpose, to prevent the Messiah from fulfilling his eternal destiny, but God has chosen The Elected to stand beside the Messiah to protect him from Satan's plan. This child, orphaned at birth, is unaware that his father is an Angel. Our story follows Caleb through his life as he grows stronger physically and spiritually, and becomes a mighty warrior of God. Truth and fiction are interwoven to paint a picture of the life of Jesus and possible dangers awaiting him throughout his life on earth. Our young hero stands in the gap between good and evil. Believing he has lost to Satan at the crucifixion, he is overwhelmed at the reality of Christ's resurrection. The Elected is filled with biblical doctrine. It walks with Jesus through His ministry and His last weeks on earth. You see every detail of the trials, beatings, and the crucifixion as if you were there. The book is filled with hope and positive virtues that transcend all time.

Download or read book This Old Monmouth of Ours written by William S. Hornor and published by Genealogical Publishing Com. This book was released on 2009-06 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hampshire County was formed from the Virginia counties of Augusta and Frederick in 1754. Later, during the American Civil War, it became the first Virginia county wholly in the territory that is now West Virginia. Mrs. Vicki Horton is the compiler of a number of Hampshire County genealogical source record collections, six of which are now available from Clearfield Company (see also items 9734, 9339, 9147, 9336, and 9335). Hampshire County Virginia Personal Property Tax Lists consists of alphabetically arranged lists of all persons who paid a property tax for every year between 1800 and 1814, except for 1808, when no tax was collected. For each taxpayer Mrs. Horton has coded the number of white tithables in the household, the number of horses owned, and the number of slaves, if any. On occasion, persons are identified with supporting information, such as occupation. All the taxpayers are readily identified in the comprehensive index at the back of the volume. Since this volume contains more than 20,000 entries, it is hard to imagine a better census approximation of Hampshire County residents for this time period.

Download or read book The Life and Witness of David written by Larry R. Helyer and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2020-12-09 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Life and Witness of David introduces the general reader to the remarkable career of David son of Jesse. This man streaked across the skies like a meteor and could rightly be called a Hebrew superstar. The stories about him are among the most beloved and captivating in Scripture. The author distills this amazing story in thirteen chapters and adds a fourteenth to sum up David's legacy in history, liturgy, and worship. David transformed the land of Israel from an insignificant federation of tribes into a Middle Eastern power, an extraordinary feat unparalleled in Israel's history. His importance, however, lies less in his military and political accomplishments than in his spiritual and theological contributions. In his action-packed life and in the book of Psalms, David, the man after God's own heart, speaks through the Spirit of God to our hearts in all the vicissitudes of life. At numerous points, the author draws attention to moments in David's story that reecho in the pages of the NT. David's story prefigures the story of David's greater son, Jesus, Son of God. The typological links connecting David and Christ in redemptive history are a key emphasis in this book.
