Book Walking for Breezes

    Book Details:
  • Author : James Nelson Caulkins
  • Publisher : Author House
  • Release : 2013-10
  • ISBN : 1491822570
  • Pages : 377 pages

Download or read book Walking for Breezes written by James Nelson Caulkins and published by Author House. This book was released on 2013-10 with total page 377 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about a boy taking the first steps towards being a young man with an independent perspective. It takes place over a two week period on a walkabout with his great uncle. At the same time his parents get to enjoy a break from their parenting and their effort of introducing the boy to the idea of holding an independent perspective. The story takes place several hundred years in the future after humans have once again chosen to spend their future by violently destroying what they have. It is a time when governmental influence is minimal and can be distant if desired. It is a time when Constitutional freedoms can be openly lived on an individual level. The constraining hierarchies of organized religions and an aggressive government with police and military support have been found to be wanting and negative to individual development. The walkabout takes place in the Rocky Mountains of the Western United States and from early to mid-June. Descriptions of the plant and animal life found along the way are from the author's experiences but are not meant to be from one locale. The various thoughts and perspectives of the characters in the book are shared by the author. The future conflicts are not intended to be prophetic in any way as the author thinks humanity's future is fluid and ours to choose. "...correctness, accuracy, truth, whatever you want to call it, is based on the content of what is said, not on who's talking." "Your clear mind will enable you to focus on detail and encompass the breadth of the Earth around you, ultimately causing you to have thoughts and emotions strong enough to add energy to your soul." "Different people do the same things in different ways. Freedom of religion is the concept that embraces different people seeking truth in different ways. If freedom is restricted truth is restricted and fanaticism grows."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chuang Tzu's first three chapters are arranged into free verse (in Chinese, in the original word order) and translated, nearly word-for-word, with extensive critical glosses vis-a-vis over fifty Chinese, Japanese, and Western commentators. The exegetical, philosophical, and contemporary implications of these chapters are then meditated upon. Here, in Chuang Tzu's world, all strivings are a play, parodying stories and arguments; each plays off of and refers to the others. Chuang Tzu lived during the third and fourth centuries B.C. Historically, he is the foremost spokesman for Taoism and its legendary founder, Lao Tzu. It was mainly due to the influence of Chuang Tzu that Indian Buddhism was transformed in China into Ch'an into the unique vehicle we usually call by its Japanese name, Zen. This is the most thorough presentation to date of the Chuang Tzu's poetic beauty, philosophical insights, and unity.

Book Brushed by the Butterfly s Wings

Download or read book Brushed by the Butterfly s Wings written by E. Scott Tapscott and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2005-04-05 with total page 532 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Depicting the painful start-and-stop process, which is an inevitable part of humankind’s quest for a more enlightened world, BRUSHED by the BUTTERFLY’S WINGS presents the first three decades of the Twentieth Century as a complex period in which a visionary few are beginning to see the errancy of an unjust society and its retentive belief systems. Set in the Southern-most foothills of the Appalachians, it is a fictional account of those few, of the circumstances that propelled them and the resistance that they met; a story of human courage, which pits family member against family member and an idealistic minority against a complacent majority who can see neither a reason for nor the irreversibility of a restlessness that seethes beneath a facade of false civility on the part of some and painful acquiescence on the part of others. A must-read for anyone interested in the deterrent effects of a world more comfortable with the supposed wisdom of traditionalism than with new conceptual realities and the changing paradigms that accompany them.

Book Little Whisperer and the Butterfly

Download or read book Little Whisperer and the Butterfly written by Curtis Baldwin and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2022-08-16 with total page 87 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a very special place, under a very funny looking tree, there lives a very tiny Dream Fairy. Her name is Little Whisper. She sleeps on a bed of soft moss under a big Leaf in the Land of Dreamy Dreams. When she woke up on this day, it seemed just like a regular day. She stretched out her little arms and buzzy-buzzed her little, tiny-finey wings and Yawned so big her little mouth got almost as big as a Strawberry Seed! After she yawned, and stretched, and buzzy-buzzed, she looked out from under her Roof, it was a big Leaf. There was a drop of water hanging from its pointy-endy-tip. She hurried over so she could see her reflection in it before it let go and splashed onto the Forest floor. Seeing your reflection in water is almost like looking into a mirror, and even a little Dream Fairy likes to make sure she looks nice in her own tiny-finey way before she starts her new day. Little Whisper wanted to fix her hair and wipe the sleepy-seepies from the corners of her dusty-pinky eyes before the drop of water let go. When it splashed onto the Forest floor, it could then do its own little part in watering the ground so more Thingie-Things could grow, you know. And you know what else? Every Thingie-Thing in Dreamy Dream Land is related to each other. Yep! In one way or another, they're like a Big Family. Even every single little Blade of Grass is an Individual with their very own Individual Personal Name. One Thingie-Thing is just as important as any other Thingie-Thing. No matter what they are, or what they do, they're all Thingie-Things together. Little Whisper was now ready to go. She had the Hardlywaits to see what she might find. So she buzzy-buzzed her little wings and took off into the Forest. What New Adventures, "WILL" She Find!
