Download or read book New Educational Technology written by Riko Kobayashi and published by Nova Publishers. This book was released on 2008 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Educational technology is a creative blending of 'idea' and 'product' technologies with subject-matter content in order to engender and improve teaching and learning processes. Educational technology is often associated with the terms instructional technology or learning technology. 'Product' technologies are tangible; for example, computer hardware or software. 'Idea' technologies are cognitive frameworks or schemes; for example, the Multiple Intelligence Theory proposed by Howard Gardner. When products are thoughtfully blended with subject matter content (such as mathematics or science concepts) for a specific audience in a specific educational context (such as a school), one is using 'educational technology'. The words educational and technology in the term educational technology have the general meaning. Educational technology is not restricted to the education of children, nor to the use of high technology.

Download or read book Encountering Things written by Leslie Atzmon and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2017-10-19 with total page 251 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Encountering Things brings together leading design scholars to explore the relationship between thing theory and design, exploring production processes and offering an engaging, theoretical perspective about the social and cultural lives of objects. Focusing on the themes of process and product, the contributors investigate the productive interplay between the activity of design and the objects that design uses and produces. Chapters span the design disciplines and essays examine the processes by which objects, things, and artifacts are made; the lives of design objects; and things in their cultural contexts. Theoretical discussion is encouraged by in-depth case studies of things themselves. Each chapter includes an informational sidebar per essay and a useful glossary of key terms.

Download or read book Andrew Carnegie s Mental Dynamite written by Napoleon Hill and published by Union Square & Co.. This book was released on 2021-09-07 with total page 323 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on a series of booklets written by bestselling motivational writer Napoleon Hill, Andrew Carnegie’s Mental Dynamite outlines the importance of three essential principles of success: self-discipline, learning from defeat, and the Golden Rule applied. In 1908, Napoleon Hill met industrialist Andrew Carnegie for what he believed would be a short interview for an article. Instead, Carnegie spent hours detailing his principles of success to the young magazine reporter. He then challenged Hill to devote 20 years to collating a proven formula that would propel people of all backgrounds to happiness, harmony, and prosperity. Hill accepted the challenge, which he distilled in the perennial bestseller Think and Grow Rich. Now, more than a century later, the Napoleon Hill Foundation is releasing this epic conversation to remind people that there are simple solutions to the problems troubling us most, everything from relationships and education to homelessness and even democracy. This is revealed in three major principles: self-discipline, which shows how the six departments of the mind may be organized and directed to any end; learning from defeat, which describes how defeat can be made to yield “the seed of an equivalent benefit” and how to turn it into a stepping-stone to greater achievement; and the Golden Rule applied for developing rewarding relationships, peace of mind, and a strengthened consciousness. Each chapter draws on Carnegie’s words and advice as inspiration, with annotations by Napoleon Hill scholar James Whittaker explaining why they are essential for reaching your goals and prospering—for you, your family, and your community.

Download or read book Glam An Eyewitness Account written by Mick Rock and published by Omnibus Press. This book was released on 2005-11-14 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Glam was about make-up, mirrors and androgyny. It was narcissistic, obsessive, decadent and subversive. It was bohemian, but also strangely futuristic. It was Oscar Wilde meets A Clockwork Orange. It was a mutant bastard offspring of glitter. But while glitter was sparkling distraction, glam was anarchy in drag. It was sexy, glamorous, on the edge. It was the moment hippie finally died. It was absolutely rock’n’roll. But it was also fashion, art, theatre, lifestsyle. It was gay, straight, multisexual. It was totally titillating and absolutely naughty. Everybody held hands with everybody, kissed everybody, went home with everybody. It was an age of accelerated discovery, when all the kinks of sexual yearning were flushed out. It was absolutely self-indulgent and it was ridiculously camp. It was a time we thought would never end. A time so long ago now it seems like a dream. But it wasn’t and I have the pictures to prove it.” Mick Rock

Download or read book Picture This written by Mick Rock and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A startling and energetic visual record of the band that spawned power pop at the peak of their success and their sultry-cool lead singer, now in paperback Blondie were the most successful rock act to emerge from New York's seminal and anarchic downtown punk scene of the mid-1970s. Their beautiful, multi-talented lead singer, Debbie Harry, became the most photogenic and photographed rock performer of all time. Mick Rock lived and lensed cutting-edge culture like no other in the 1970s, and their collaboration yielded iconic photos that transcended and transformed the public perception of rock'n'roll imagery. This book explores in depth, both visually and verbally, the unique natural charm and charisma of Debbie's "punk Marilyn Monroe" persona in its prime, and her successful reinvention of that persona for Blondie's glorious comeback of recent years. Mick Rock provides a vivid, memorable account of his larger-than-life adventures behind the camera; revealing, like no other book, just what made Debbie Harry and Blondie so distinctive.
