Book Marxist Theory and Revolutionary Tactics

Download or read book Marxist Theory and Revolutionary Tactics written by Anton Pannekoek and published by Pattern Books. This book was released on 2020-07-09 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For several years past, profound tactical disagreement has been developing on a succession of issues amongst those who had previously shared common ground as Marxists and together fought against Revisionism in the name of the radical tactic of class struggle. It first came into the open in 1910, in the debate between Kautsky and Luxemburg over the mass strike; then came the dissension over imperialism and the question of disarmament; and finally, with the conflict over the electoral deal made by the Party Executive and the attitude to be adopted towards the liberals, the most important issues of parliamentary politics became the subject of dispute.

Book The Philosophy of Physical Science

Download or read book The Philosophy of Physical Science written by Sir Arthur Eddington and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2021-03-17 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is often said that there is no "philosophy of science", but only the philosophies of certain scientists. But in so far as we recognize an authoritative body of opinion which decides what is and what is not accepted as present-day physics, there is an ascertainable present-day philosophy of physical science. It is the philosophy to which those who follow the accepted practice of science stand committed by their practice. This book contains the substance of the course of lectures which the author Eddington delivered as Tarner Lecturer of Trinity College Cambridge in the Easter Term 1938. The lectures have afforded him an opportunity of developing more fully than in his earlier books the principles of philosophic thought associated with the modern advances of physical science.

Book excerpt: "Hila was born in Shkodra in 1944, and lives and works in Tirana. During his studies in the 1960s he experimented timidly with deformation. In 1972 he painted "Planting of Trees", a pleasant picture rendered slightly unreal through the use of color, which because of its departure from the approved socialist realist doctrine, soon became a pretext for ordering him to work in a poultry processing plant, where his main task was hauling sacks. In the evenings he secretly created a series of drawings documenting the life of the workers (the "Poultry" series, 1975-76), harrowing in their raw realism. In the 1990s, seeking a path back to painting, Hila carefully observed life evolving after the fall of Enver Hoxha's regime and tried to depict the realities of the Albanian transformation. In Hila's view the Eastern European experience is stripped of accident or adventure typical of many presentations of this time, giving it instead the weight of distilled general truths, as if he were its final chronicler. An influential teacher, Edi Hila was formerly professor at the Tirana Academy of Fine Arts where he taught the well-regarded contemporary artists Anri Sala and Adrian Paci, as well the artist, writer, politician, and current Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama."--Site Web du musée

Book Sagitta s Books of the Nameless Love

Download or read book Sagitta s Books of the Nameless Love written by John Henry MacKay and published by Createspace Independent Pub. This book was released on 2005-07 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first complete translation of the volume of six “books” that John Henry Mackay published pseudonymously as Die Bücher der namenlosen Liebe von Sagitta in 1913. The project was begun in 1905 and soon had its own problems, as described by Mackay in his introduction, “The History of a Fight for the Nameless Love.” This—and the collection all together—is an important historical document of the beginning of the homosexual emancipation movement in Germany a century ago and of the role that boy-lovers played in it. At the same time it gives an insight into the heart and mind of an accomplished writer who knew personally the joys and pains of “the nameless love”—which Oscar Wilde called “the Love that dare not speak its name.”
