Download or read book Breaking the Spirit of Poverty written by Bill Johnson and published by Destiny Image Publishers. This book was released on 2019-10-01 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How we handle finances is Gods test for true spiritual blessing. Our faithfulness in the area of finances is what readies us to receive the genuine, rich inheritance that God has promised to those who serve and follow faithfully. It's a critical area, because without passing the test of finances, we can never become all that God has intended for us to be. We can never receive the depth and the richness of the blessing of the Lord in this life without walking in obedience. Hes waiting for His people to break forth into radical obedience so that He can radically demonstrate His love and power. In Breaking the Spirit of Poverty, we are urged to live in radical obedience, to live under the Lordship of Jesus in every area. Bill Johnson challenges us to: Release the tithe to Godit belongs to Him. If we withhold it, we become a legal target of the devourer and the devourer never knows when to stop short at taking and devouring 10%. Confess Gods ownership over our livesall the gifts, abilities, everything we have belongs to Him. We prove our faithfulness day after day in the way we give oversight to that which belongs to another. Cultivate a heart of respect and submission for Gods chosen leadership. We are to show honor in our words and actions to those in authority over us. Demonstrate a zeal for Gods house. The tithe is to be a testimony of our love for the house of God and for those God has raised up to serve. Move in radical generosity. Its the evidence of Gods life in us. Its our declaration to the enemy that we trust God, that our security is in investing and expanding the Kingdom of God. Enlarge our vision beyond ourselves so that we respond to people with compassion and love, declaring Gods blessing on their lives. We are to seek to bring peace, prosperity, divine health, and wholeness to our communities. We are to demonstrate to the world what the King is like. God intends to bring people into the Kingdom through blessing. His desire is to pour out love, grace, and blessing on people. He invites us to a lifestyle of radical obedience and radical generosity so that we cooperate with Him in breaking the spirit of poverty over our lives and our communities.

Download or read book Always with Us written by Theoharis, Liz and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2017 with total page 207 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Jesus's words 'the poor you will always have with you' (Matthew 26:11) are regularly used to suggest that ending poverty is impossible. In this book Liz Theoharis critically examines both the biblical text and the lived reality of the poor to show how this passage is taken out of context and distorted. Poverty is not inevitable, Theoharis argues. It is a systemic sin, and all Christians have a responsibility to partner with the poor to end poverty once and for all"--Jacket

Book excerpt: Jesus depended on the Holy Spirit. Jesus was born by the Spirit, filled by the Spirit, led by the Spirit, empowered by the Spirit, and offered Himself as a sacrifice on the cross by the eternal Spirit. Then at His ascension, He prayed to the Father that His followers would have the same power available to them. However, as modern believers, we have worked very hard to minimize our dependence on the Holy Spirit. In Spirit-Filled Jesus, Vladimir Savchuk presents the life of Jesus as an example for us to follow into living an abundant life full of the Holy Spirit and His power. We are called to pick up our cross and follow Him, but we can't do that unless we rely on the Holy Spirit the same way He did. Find out more in Spirit-Filled Jesus! Download or read book The Grace of Giving written by Ché Ahn and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2013-03-18 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does biblical prosperity have to do with giving? While it is clear from Scripture that God desires to prosper His children materially, the Word's emphasis is not on amassing personal wealth but on having a generous heart like the Father's. Ché Ahn believes that God desires to prosper His people, and that He will do so as they trust His grace to provide for their needs and seek to reflect His giving, blessing image. This happens as believers repent of the hindrances of mind and heart that motivate them to grasp at wealth in unhealthy and self-defeating ways. The Grace of Giving guides readers to tear down the idols of wealth and poverty and to flourish in God's presence and provision.

Book excerpt: In "Blessings Beyond Measure," readers are invited on a transformative journey to understand and conquer the Poverty Spirit—a deceptive force that clouds our perception of God's boundless provisions.
