Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The value of a brand is acknowledged only when a consumer is happy and satisfied using it. Hence, recognition and praise enhance the brand value or brand equity of a product, and makes a product ‘a brand’. Therefore, brand equity becomes a precedence for any product to become a brand. This book delves onto the concepts and theories of Brand Equity, and how it forms an integral part of any product becoming a success. The book skillfully explains fundamental concepts of brand equity, and its importance in product/services marketing, in the Indian context. Divided into four parts, Part 1 of the book begins by explaining the meaning of branding and brand equity. Part 2 then focuses on various components of brand equity. Part 3 educates the readers/students on how to measure brand equity of a product or a brand. Part 4 concludes by elaborating on ways and means to enhance brand equity of any product. This book is designed for the postgraduate degree and PG Diploma students of management specializing in Marketing and brand management. The book will be equally useful for practising Product/Brand Managers.

Book Managing Brand Equity

Download or read book Managing Brand Equity written by David A. Aaker and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2009-12-01 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most important assets of any business are intangible: its company name, brands, symbols, and slogans, and their underlying associations, perceived quality, name awareness, customer base, and proprietary resources such as patents, trademarks, and channel relationships. These assets, which comprise brand equity, are a primary source of competitive advantage and future earnings, contends David Aaker, a national authority on branding. Yet, research shows that managers cannot identify with confidence their brand associations, levels of consumer awareness, or degree of customer loyalty. Moreover in the last decade, managers desperate for short-term financial results have often unwittingly damaged their brands through price promotions and unwise brand extensions, causing irreversible deterioration of the value of the brand name. Although several companies, such as Canada Dry and Colgate-Palmolive, have recently created an equity management position to be guardian of the value of brand names, far too few managers, Aaker concludes, really understand the concept of brand equity and how it must be implemented. In a fascinating and insightful examination of the phenomenon of brand equity, Aaker provides a clear and well-defined structure of the relationship between a brand and its symbol and slogan, as well as each of the five underlying assets, which will clarify for managers exactly how brand equity does contribute value. The author opens each chapter with a historical analysis of either the success or failure of a particular company's attempt at building brand equity: the fascinating Ivory soap story; the transformation of Datsun to Nissan; the decline of Schlitz beer; the making of the Ford Taurus; and others. Finally, citing examples from many other companies, Aaker shows how to avoid the temptation to place short-term performance before the health of the brand and, instead, to manage brands strategically by creating, developing, and exploiting each of the five assets in turn

Download or read book Determinants of Brand Equity from the Consumer s Perspective written by Dhruv Brahmbhatt and published by . This book was released on 2018 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Brand equity as a theoretical concept was born in the 1980s. Many authors have given their valuable opinion and views on this term, which differ from one another. As brand equity is closely related with brand loyalty and brand extension, it arouses intense interest among those in the branding business from a wide variety of industries. While there is no common viewpoint on the measurement and dimensions of brand equity, this paper makes an effort to identify the most common determinants and approaches to measurement of brand equity from literature. Majorly, there are two perspectives of brand equity: consumer's perspective and financial perspective. This paper reviews only Consumer-Based Brand Equity (CBBE), which relates to consumer response to a brand name. It reviews the determinants of CBBE by drawing together strands from various conceptual and empirical studies made in this field.

This book was released on 2008-10-20 with total page 19 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2008 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: A, , course: Conference, language: English, abstract: Indian Retail Scenario: Organized retailing has exponentially emerged to contribute to the growth of Indian retail sector. It constitutes 3% of the total retail market and expected to grow at a rate of 42% in 2008. According to estimates provided by Technopak, organized retail in India is expected to receive investments of $25 billion, taking the size of modern retail to $75 billion by 2011. These investments imply that share of organized retail will grow from the present 3 % to approximately 15-18 % by 2011-12. With the onset of a globalize economy in India, the Indian consumer's psyche has changed. They are well versed with the concept of value for money, quality and service standards offered worldwide, in turn they are becoming more demanding. These demands are the visible impacts of the Indian organized retail sector. The evident increase in consumerist activity is colossal; it is replicated in money making recess for the Indian organized retail sector. Indian Retail is in the midst of a retail revolution, seen in sprawling number of malls developed from 50 operational malls in 2005 to 250 mall by 20083. Multiple formats have sprung up across different cities. City landscapes are dotted with malls and customers have problems of plenty as far as deciding shopping destinations is concerned.

Book Public Relations and Media in Cooperatives An Indian Perspective

Download or read book Public Relations and Media in Cooperatives An Indian Perspective written by Sanjay Kumar Verma and published by Studera Press. This book was released on 2019-09-01 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At a time when effective communications has become the biggest issue confronting the cooperative movement globally, the book delves into the issues of Public Relations and Media in the context of cooperatives in India. Being the largest cooperative movement in the world, with significant achievements in various areas of socio-economic activities, the Indian cooperative movement faces a big challenge of image-building which can enhance the profile of the cooperative movement, and create awareness about the beneficial aspects of cooperative development amongst the general masses. Against this backdrop, the book is a timely endeavour to analyse the issues of public relations and media which have an important role in image-building of the cooperative sector. The book with a strategic orientation comes up with fresh perspectives so as to prepare a road-map for strengthening the functioning of public relations and media in the working of cooperatives in India. As communications is considered the weakest link in the functioning of the cooperative sector, there is a strong realization that the cooperative movement in India cannot succeed without a vibrant public relations and media policy. As the communication literature in the cooperative sector in India is scanty, the book also fills a big void in enriching the subjects of public relations and media, which are generally neglected. The book deals with a wide gamut of vital issues like importance of public relations, research in public relations, media relations, community media, cooperative advocacy, success stories, strategic communications, social media, role of blogs, and also some case studies related to public relations and media. The book provides a refreshing referral benefit to students and teachers of public relations and media, research scholars, faculty members, academicians, practitioners and policy-makers related to the cooperative sector in India and abroad.
