Download or read book Cryptographic Boolean Functions and Applications written by Thomas W. Cusick and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2017-03-31 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cryptographic Boolean Functions and Applications, Second Edition is designed to be a comprehensive reference for the use of Boolean functions in modern cryptography. While the vast majority of research on cryptographic Boolean functions has been achieved since the 1970s, when cryptography began to be widely used in everyday transactions, in particular banking, relevant material is scattered over hundreds of journal articles, conference proceedings, books, reports and notes, some of them only available online. This book follows the previous edition in sifting through this compendium and gathering the most significant information in one concise reference book. The work therefore encompasses over 600 citations, covering every aspect of the applications of cryptographic Boolean functions. Since 2008, the subject has seen a very large number of new results, and in response, the authors have prepared a new chapter on special functions. The new edition brings 100 completely new references and an expansion of 50 new pages, along with heavy revision throughout the text. Presents a foundational approach, beginning with the basics of the necessary theory, then progressing to more complex content Includes major concepts that are presented with complete proofs, with an emphasis on how they can be applied Includes an extensive list of references, including 100 new to this edition that were chosen to highlight relevant topics Contains a section on special functions and all-new numerical examples

Book Trustworthy Hardware Design Combinational Logic Locking Techniques

Download or read book Trustworthy Hardware Design Combinational Logic Locking Techniques written by Muhammad Yasin and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-09-04 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the popularity of hardware security research, several edited monograms have been published, which aim at summarizing the research in a particular field. Typically, each book chapter is a recompilation of one or more research papers, and the focus is on summarizing the state-of-the-art research. Different from the edited monograms, the chapters in this book are not re-compilations of research papers. The book follows a pedagogical approach. Each chapter has been planned to emphasize the fundamental principles behind the logic locking algorithms and relate concepts to each other using a systematization of knowledge approach. Furthermore, the authors of this book have contributed to this field significantly through numerous fundamental papers.

Book Cryptography in Constant Parallel Time

Download or read book Cryptography in Constant Parallel Time written by Benny Applebaum and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-12-19 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Locally computable (NC0) functions are "simple" functions for which every bit of the output can be computed by reading a small number of bits of their input. The study of locally computable cryptography attempts to construct cryptographic functions that achieve this strong notion of simplicity and simultaneously provide a high level of security. Such constructions are highly parallelizable and they can be realized by Boolean circuits of constant depth. This book establishes, for the first time, the possibility of local implementations for many basic cryptographic primitives such as one-way functions, pseudorandom generators, encryption schemes and digital signatures. It also extends these results to other stronger notions of locality, and addresses a wide variety of fundamental questions about local cryptography. The author's related thesis was honorably mentioned (runner-up) for the ACM Dissertation Award in 2007, and this book includes some expanded sections and proofs, and notes on recent developments. The book assumes only a minimal background in computational complexity and cryptography and is therefore suitable for graduate students or researchers in related areas who are interested in parallel cryptography. It also introduces general techniques and tools which are likely to interest experts in the area.

The three previous c- ferenceswereheldinBeijing(ICICS97),Sydney(ICICS99)andXian(ICICS01), where we had an enthusiastic and well-attended event. ICICS2002 is sponsored and organized by the Laboratories for Information Technology, Singapore, in co-operation with the Engineering Research Center for Information Security Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the International C- munications and Information Security Association (ICISA). During the past ?ve years the conference has placed equal emphasis on the theoretical and practical aspects of information and communications security and has established itself as a forum at which academic and industrial people meet and discuss emerging security challenges and solutions. We hope to uphold this tradition by o?ering you yet another successful meeting with a rich and interesting program. The response to the Call For Papers was overwhelming, 161 paper submissions were received. Therefore, the paper selection process was very competitive and di?cult–only41paperswereacceptedandmanygoodpapershadtoberejected. The success of the conference depends on the quality of the program. We are indebted to our program committee members and the external referees for the wonderful job they did.
