Book Sonia s Legacy The Lycan Squad Chronicles Prologue

Download or read book Sonia s Legacy The Lycan Squad Chronicles Prologue written by Selena Stone and published by Selena Stone. This book was released on 2021-06-09 with total page 54 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sonia's Legacy: The Lycan Squad Chronicles - Prologue A Teen Female Lycanthrope Werewolf Romance Fantasy Book Series 1712 A family tree, however long and with whatever ramifications, would scarcely seem to need an introduction or a forward. Its use and purpose must be clear to whoever reads its contents. Yet there are events and details in this family tree that do call for some words of explanation and comment. It's also not a genealogy at all unless the genealogist goes back further. It's the story of the Sonia Lycan legacy, stretching from the 18th to the 21st centuries, from England to Barbados to North America, but with an emphasis on North America and the birth of a country, and particularly of those with a romantic past as revolutionaries and fighters for freedom and social justice. The story began in 1712 on the island of Barbados. It took another 292 years to bring her lineage to Degray. Sonia was born in Barbados on the 17th of March 1696, her mother died during childbirth and from there she was raised by her grandmother. While she did not know her father at the time she was born, she did not have an uncommon amount of siblings to contend with. There was an Uncle Muncie, and two cousins named Bascombe and Julian, the last of whom died before Sonia reached her 15th birthday. She did not remember these people. Her life changed radically when she was forced to join the local brothel as a virgin or whore, at the time at the rate of six pounds a year. This is the way many of the genteel and poorer inhabitants of the island lived. It was there that her lineage began: December 12, 1712 2019 The Sonia bloodline will rule through the female, not the male. The firstborn of the union between James and Nancy is expected to be the most powerful female of pure blood in the Sonia line. Her name will be Jamie. Purity is rare within the Sonia bloodline, which is why the ultimate union of James and Nancy is essential for the survival of the Sonia bloodline. The union must be pure in every way, and if Jamie fails in her birthright then the Sonia bloodline will fall, perhaps for good. That is why, when Jamie was born, James and Nancy left Degray. The risk of jeopardizing Jamie's future is too great; she could very well be the last pureblood descendant of the Sonia bloodline. That is when the true battle for the Sonia bloodline begins. Many humans will oppose her at every turn. Some will hate her for being a Sonia bloodline. Others will want to own her in hopes of finding a way to harness the powerful and alluring blood that flows in her veins. It doesn't matter what human thinks or feels for Jamie. She will be forced to defend herself and others from all human threats and forces. Her destiny will be to protect and lead the Sonia bloodline into their highest and most powerful realms. ***** The Lycan Squad Chronicles follows Jamie Ramsay, the only female Lycan at Degray High School through her junior year of high school as she faces the challenges and victories of romance, cheerleading, friendship, and being the girlfriend of the starting quarterback. Jamie and the Lycan Squad confront many social and family issues being faced by teens and young adults including dating & sex, bullying, death, family, friendship, prejudice & racism, self esteem, physical & emotional abuse, violence, peer pressure, siblings, depression, class differences, and new experiences.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Set in both the future and present day, Spellbound Chronicles is a fast-paced children’s story with twists and turns, good versus evil, set above and below ground. Spellbound Chronicles tells the story of Larna and Aron who, while geocaching in the ancient Sherwood Forest, find themselves reluctantly pulled through time into a Sherwood of the future. Faced with the task of fighting to save an enslaved and fast-mutating race from extinction, they set out with the formidable wizard, Balgaire, and his friends to take on the might of the fearsome warlock, Mordrog. A battle for wands, destruction and kidnapping ensues, with a hint of romance thrown in, in the form of underground shape shifter Cai. As the final epic battle takes place, will Larna and Aron survive the fight long enough to return unscathed to their own time and their own Sherwood..? Inspired by other fantasy authors such as C.S. Lewis, J.R.R Tolkien and J.K. Rowling, Suzanne and Eve have created a breathlessly exciting story that will delight children aged 8+ and teenagers alike. Touching on the new subject of geocaching, a form of treasure hunting that came to the UK from America, the book is also raising money for charity to aid research into Motor Neurone Disease.

Download or read book The Sword of Goliath written by Anthony Jones and published by . This book was released on 2016-09-02 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Sword of Goliath focuses itself primarily on a man named Jacob (or Jake) Stanton, who is spending his days in San Quentin Penitentiary for a crime he did not commit. Jake was wrongly accused, unfairly tried, and unreasonably sentenced for the murder of his wife, and he's just lost his final appeal. As Jake begins to mentally prepare for life inside the walls of San Quentin, he's assigned a new cell-mate, Stephen Stross. Stross befriends Jake and, in earning Jake's trust, convinces him that he is a member of the Shaddai. The Shaddai, descendants of the Biblical Nephilim through the bloodline of Seth, are on the hunt for twelve artifacts that will help them to win the final battle over the demonic Grigori; they believe the key to finding one of these powerful artifacts, the sword of Goliath, rests inside the mind of Jake Stanton. After engineering a successful escape from San Quentin, Jake and Stephen begin the quest for the legendary lost sword, but it will not be an easy effort. As escaped convicts, they are on the run from the law; as Shaddai, they are the targets of the Grigori and its evilunderlord Zoltar. Jake is going to need every resource imaginable, from skeptical law enforcement agent Sam Jericho; to prophets of the Old Testament; to the hand of God Himself. The Final Battle has begun, not only in this world, but in other unseen dimensions; and Jake Stanton may be the catalyst for victory or the harbinger of doom. For those who enjoy stories spun out of Biblical speculation, there is much to love about The Sword of Goliath. Foremost is the fact that the cornerstone of this novel is based around a true mystery of the Bible, the fate of the Nephilim. Whereas Brown's The Da Vinci Code and Knox's The Genesis Secret rely on heavily debunked assertions to support fallacious premises, Anthony Jones contrives this tale around a piece of scripture that, across millennia, has yet to be fully explained or understood. However improbable, the nature of this book still lies within the realm of "possible," and that alone lends a huge amount of credibility to the author. Also to Mr. Jones's credit is his ability to extrapolate the ideas of angels and demons, as well as Divine Intervention, through the use of interdimensional worlds. One such world is The Crossing, a Purgatory-like land eerily similar to Dekker's Other Earth in the Circle series. It is in The Crossing that the Shaddai can communicate with deceased loved ones, Shaddai ancestry (including the prophet Samuel), and even Jesus of Nazareth; The Crossing, as well as other dimensions, serve to both simplify and enhance such Christian ideals as human suffering, unconditional love, and the nature of sin, using both imagery and appropriate narrative. Regarding appropriate narrative, Mr. Jones does the reader a third and final favor: He writes for the appeal of a wide audience. A glaring problem in the Christian Fiction genre is that the characters are often too faithful to be flawed; conversely, secular fiction finds characters so flawed that even a dynamic revelation or redemptive event can't bring them closer to God. The Sword of Goliath makes no assumptions about the religious background of the reader and instead seeks to tell a good story steeped in the Christian faith while allowing its characters to struggle under the weight of their own humanity. As soon as I read the final page, I immediately scoured the internet in an attempt to find information on the next installment of The Bloodline Chronicles (alas, I came away empty-handed). The story is fresh, the writing is smooth on the whole, and the main characters are likeable and sympathetic heroes. Anthony Jones has included in this novel everything essential to beginning a traditional high-fantasy saga, albeit with a contemporary, faith-based twist. Adult fans of Frank Peretti's Darkness duology, Ted Dekker's Circle series, and Lewis's Narnia Chronicles will enjoy what Mr. Jones has brought to the table.

Book excerpt: NATIONAL BESTSELLER • The gripping story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos—one of the biggest corporate frauds in history—a tale of ambition and hubris set amid the bold promises of Silicon Valley, rigorously reported by the prize-winning journalist. With a new Afterword covering her trial and sentencing, bringing the story to a close. “Chilling ... Reads like a thriller ... Carreyrou tells [the Theranos story] virtually to perfection.” —The New York Times Book Review In 2014, Theranos founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes was widely seen as the next Steve Jobs: a brilliant Stanford dropout whose startup “unicorn” promised to revolutionize the medical industry with its breakthrough device, which performed the whole range of laboratory tests from a single drop of blood. Backed by investors such as Larry Ellison and Tim Draper, Theranos sold shares in a fundraising round that valued the company at more than $9 billion, putting Holmes’s worth at an estimated $4.5 billion. There was just one problem: The technology didn’t work. Erroneous results put patients in danger, leading to misdiagnoses and unnecessary treatments. All the while, Holmes and her partner, Sunny Balwani, worked to silence anyone who voiced misgivings—from journalists to their own employees.
