Book The Un Subtle Art of Not Burning Your Cakes Pies Or Friends

Download or read book The Un Subtle Art of Not Burning Your Cakes Pies Or Friends written by Wonderland Cafe and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-12-17 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Instead of celebrating the anniversary that was SOOOO LAST YEAR (Alice's 150th), this book takes the Alice celebration in a different direction. Inspired by the cool, retro menus in roadside diners, the black and white squares of checkerboard floor in "Through the Looking Glass," and a whole lot of Alice-related mirth, this blank cookbook journal encourages you to create the kind of recipes you'd like to see at your own tea party. No finger sandwiches required. "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" counts as one of the most popular pieces of children's literature of all time. It's a tumble down the rabbit hole that will leave you breathless with delight. It's a land filled with little bottles labeled "drink me" and magical cakes labeled "eat me." While readers have come to love characters like the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, and even the Queen of Hearts, it might be said that food is main character in this book. Aside from Alice, of course. Use this book to capture your favorite recipes for your next tea party or book club meeting or even just because. It even makes a sweet Alice-in-Wonderland-themed party favor, too. The book contains an excerpt from the coloring book "Forever Hatter."

Book excerpt: 'Time in the palm of our hands.' -Peter Ramm What role might poetry have in saving our planet? It is becoming increasingly clear that we all need to contribute to ensure the survival of our planet; new narratives are urgently called for. Ecopoetry has become a genre within which poets put up a searching and at times brutally honest lens through which to consider climate change, loss of biodiversity, the pollution of our air and water, and environmentally damaging industries such as mining and deforestation. Poetry for the Planet showcases the work of one hundred poets from Australia and New Zealand. Despite an astonishing variety in style, poems are united in their plea to all of us to forge a new relationship with our fractured world, and move from an attitude of short-term exploitation to one of nourishment and sustainability. All proceeds from the sale of this book to be directed to the Australian Conservation Foundation.

Book Electronic Literature

Download or read book Electronic Literature written by Scott Rettberg and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2018-12-14 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electronic Literature considers new forms and genres of writing that exploit the capabilities of computers and networks – literature that would not be possible without the contemporary digital context. In this book, Rettberg places the most significant genres of electronic literature in historical, technological, and cultural contexts. These include combinatory poetics, hypertext fiction, interactive fiction (and other game-based digital literary work), kinetic and interactive poetry, and networked writing based on our collective experience of the Internet. He argues that electronic literature demands to be read both through the lens of experimental literary practices dating back to the early twentieth century and through the specificities of the technology and software used to produce the work. Considering electronic literature as a subject in totality, this book provides a vital introduction to a dynamic field that both reacts to avant-garde literary and art traditions and generates new forms of narrative and poetic work particular to the twenty-first century. It is essential reading for students and researchers in disciplines including literary studies, media and communications, art, and creative writing.

Book Systematics and Evolution of the Sthenurine Kangaroos

Download or read book Systematics and Evolution of the Sthenurine Kangaroos written by Gavin Prideaux and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2004-05 with total page 647 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The subfamily Sthenurinae (Macropodoidea, Diprotodontia) is an extinct group of robust kangaroos. The earliest sthenurine appears in the late Miocene of central Australia, but the group is most common in the Pleistocene faunas of southern and eastern Australia. Since the Sthenurinae was last reviewed over three decades ago, species diversity has more than doubled. Many species are now also represented by series of well-preserved specimens, including complete crania and skeletons. New insights generated by these discoveries provided the major impetus for this review of sthenurine systematics, functional morphology, paleoecology, biochronology and zoogeography.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: »Digital media« is increasingly finding its way into the discussions of the humanities classroom. But while there is a number of grand theoretical texts about digital literature there as yet is little in the way of resources for discussing the down-to-earth practices of research, teaching, and curriculum necessary for this work to mature. This book presents contributions by scholars and teachers from different countries and academic environments who articulate their approach to the study and teaching of digital literature and thus give a broader audience an idea of the state-of-the-art of the subject matter also in international comparison.
