Download or read book Und das ungeheure Bild der Landschaft written by Karsten Berr and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-01-03 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The understanding of landscape in the German-speaking area has some similarities with the discussions of the topic in other European languages and scientific communities, but there are some specifics. These specifics can be found both in the common sense understanding of landscape and in the history of scientific conceptualization. Special features of the common sense understanding lie on the one hand in the medieval roots, a strong romantic charge and the strong connection between home and landscape. With regard to the scientific examination of landscape, there are specific fractions and discontinuities in the German-speaking world. Contents• Theoretical Framing: the Creation of Landscape• The Genesis of the Landscape Concept in the German Language Regions – the Common Sense Understanding• The Concept of Landscape in Landscape-Related Sciences• Landscape Research in its Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Challenge About the AuthorsDr. Karsten Berr works as a research assistant at the Department for Urban and Regional Development at the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen.Dr. Dr. Olaf Kühne is professor for Urban and Regional Development at the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen.

Book Die Landschaft interpretieren Interdisziplin re Ans tze

Download or read book Die Landschaft interpretieren Interdisziplin re Ans tze written by Werner Kreisel and published by Universitätsverlag Göttingen. This book was released on 2021 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is no generally valid, recognised definition of what landscape actually is. On the basis of its relatedness to the environment, to aesthetics, territory, society, politics, economics, geography, planning, ethnology and philosophy, the concept of landscape is considered to be a "composite" notion shaped by a thousand years of Central European ideas and of literary and art history. In other words, the very term "landscape" is ambiguous and it is used in different ways both in the scholarly world and everyday speech. The aim of this volume is to present various possible approaches to the phenomenon of "landscape". Far from laying any claim to be exhaustive or comprehensive we have simply tried to do justice to the overarching interdisciplinary approach of the Zentrum für Landschaftsinterpretation und Tourismus (ZELT: Centre for Landscape Interpretation and Tourism) by singling out and addressing individual instances of this fascinating multifaceted phenomenon.

Book Das Szenenbild Im Film

Download or read book Das Szenenbild Im Film written by Heidi Lüdi and published by Edition Axel Menges. This book was released on 2000 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This book uses familiar films and television series to portray the complex process leading to the design of film sets. It goes into detail over the pros and cons of filming "on location" or in the studio, takes a look at the problems of historical and contemporary settings and clears up the linguistic muddle of names for particular jobs that has grown up as a result of different film production developments in Europe and America. This illustrated volume is a must for everyone involved in film and also for everyone interested in the art film." "Swiss designers Heidi and Toni Ludi have designed countless film sets since studying art in London and Munich, including such famous examples as The Magic Mountain, Edith's Diary, Wings of Desire, The Bear, Lindenstrasse and Die zweite Heimat. Both are actively committed to their profession; they pass their experience on to the younger generation in frequent lectures and seminars, in Toni Ludi's case since 1989 as professor at the Fachhochschule Rosenheim."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc. Book Multisensory Landscapes

Download or read book Multisensory Landscapes written by Lara Koegst and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-06-21 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a broad view on multisensory landscapes from multiple perspectives. It includes theoretical perspectives as well as case studies. Different theoretical perspectives on landscape emerging from research in the last decades also require a differentiated approach to landscape phenomena, going beyond the visual. For example, a social constructivist approach to the social world foregrounds the processes of negotiating social ‚realities‘. This is not limited to visual aspects, and is not based on a clear physical measurability with an accompanying (purely quantitative) recording. A phenomenological approach, for example, places the synesthetic experience of landscape at the core of interest. This approach to the topic of multisensory via ‚landscape‘ is obvious for several reasons. Firstly, landscape is created (from a constructivist perspective) through the synthesis of sensory impressions on the basis of social patterns of interpretation and evaluation. Secondly, communication about ‚landscape‘ is also accessible to people who do not have any ‚expertlike special knowledge‘ in this regard. Thirdly, landscape as a changing concept is not only a concept of landscape but also of landscape itself. Fourthly, landscape as a changeable concept is particularly suitable for conceptually framing the highly fleeting non-visual stimuli.

Book Modern Approaches to the Visualization of Landscapes

Download or read book Modern Approaches to the Visualization of Landscapes written by Dennis Edler and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-01-31 with total page 553 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The volume deals with the effects of digitization on spatial and especially landscape construction processes and their visualization. A focus lies on the generation mechanisms of 'landscapes' with digital tools of cartography and geomatics, including possibilities to model and visualize non-visual stimuli, but also spatial-temporal changes of physical space. Another focus is on how virtual spaces have already become part of the social and individual construction of landscape. Potentials of combining modern media of spatial visualization and (constructivist) landscape research are discussed.

  • Author : Olaf Kühne
  • Publisher : Springer Nature
  • Release : 2022-03-02
  • ISBN : 3030929531
  • Pages : 304 pages

Download or read book Germany written by Olaf Kühne and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-03-02 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses the highly differentiated spatial, social, cultural and demographic structure(s) of Germany, with a particular focus on the reciprocal relations between different levels of spatial development. The historical development of Germany serves as a background in order to provide context for the development of spatially relevant ideas and ideals (whether in relation to politics, landscape, or culture). In this regard, questions of divergence and convergence become highly salient. The book makes the complexity of spatial and social developments in Germany comprehensible. The neopragmatic approach adopted here allows bringing together different theoretical strands while providing a basis for independent regional geographic research at the same time. Beginning with an overview of the physical structures of Germany which provides the material point of departure for the societal development of Germany, key aspects of the German history are discussed. Particular attention is paid to the reciprocal influence between material substrate and notions of landscape. Here, specific ‘German’ trajectories of aesthetic and normative conceptions of landscape become clear. A common theme throughout the book are questions of divergence and of efforts towards convergence, which become evident when considering past and present economic, political, and demographic developments. Efforts to tackle current challenges, such as adapting to climate change and mitigating it, or securing raw materials, also become apparent. The complexity of spatial processes in Germany is illustrated in case study regions dealing with the challenges of structural change in traditional industrial regions (such as the Ruhr area), or e.g. efforts of Berlin to position and find itself as the capital of a unified Germany. Overall, the book shows how theory-driven regional geographic research can make spatiotemporal complexities tangible and comprehensible.

Book Virtuelle und ideale Welten

Download or read book Virtuelle und ideale Welten written by Ulrich Gehmann and published by KIT Scientific Publishing. This book was released on 2012 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Von Richthofen bis Remarque written by and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2016-08-09 with total page 417 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Bemerkungen ber die Philosophie der Psychologie written by Ludwig Wittgenstein and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 1988-10-15 with total page 442 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wittgenstein finished part 1 of the Philosophical Investigations in the spring of 1945. From 1946 to 1949 he worked on the philosophy of psychology almost without interruption. The present two-volume work comprises many of his writings over this period. Some of the remarks contained here were culled for part 2 of the Investigations; others were set aside and appear in the collection known as Zettel. The great majority, however, although of excellent quality, have hitherto remained unpublished. This bilingual edition of the Remarks on the Philosophy of Psychology presents the first English translation of an essential body of Wittegenstein's work. It elaborates Wittgenstein's views on psychological concepts such as expectation, sensation, knowing how to follow a rule, and knowledge of the sensations of other persons. It also shows strong emphasis on the "anthropological" aspect of Wittgenstein's thought. Philosophers, as well as anthropologists, psychologists, and sociologists will welcome this important publication.
