    Book Details:
  • Author : Kenneth Lawrence
  • Publisher : Xulon Press

Download or read book The Evolution Delusion written by Kenneth Lawrence and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2008-05 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: DEBUNKING THE "EVIDENCE" BEHIND THE EVOLUTIONIST WORLDVIEW: Throughout the last half of the twentieth century, and now into the new millennium, the public has been fed a steady diet of anti-Biblical propaganda by an increasingly determined cadre of evolutionist scientists, educators and media outlets. The result of this concerted effort has been a shifting of public consciousness away from Biblical truth and into a new paradigm in which belief in some form of Darwinian evolution has become a Litmus test of acceptability in our society. But is this paradigm shift founded on legitimate scientific evidence? The answer to this question is a resounding NO. Over the last several decades, scientists in widely varied disciplines have refuted much of the "evidence" behind today's various competing evolution theories. The time has finally come to expose evolution for what it is: delusion. Kenneth Lawrence was born in British Columbia, Canada, where he currently resides. He has had an intense interest in science most of his life. A believer in Darwinian evolution for many years, Ken became a Christian at the age of twenty-three, but had difficulty accepting a straightforward reading of the Bible's account of origins for many years. In his late forties, Ken began to seriously investigate the scientific claims of evolution theory. Nearly a decade of personal research has resulted in an invigorated faith in the God of the Bible and in the writing of this book.

Book The Big Bang Explained

Download or read book The Big Bang Explained written by Megan Ansdell and published by Enslow Publishing, LLC. This book was released on 2018-07-15 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Big Bang theory describes the very beginnings of the universe, when it was infinitesimally small and infinitely dense, and follows its rapid expansion and evolution, from the formation of nuclei within the first few minutes to the creation of the first galaxies a billion years later. The Big Bang theory is a cornerstone of modern cosmology, and although astronomers cannot directly observe the birth of the universe, the theory is widely accepted because it makes concrete predictions of the current observable universe, which have been tested repeatedly with striking success. Supporting the Next Generation Science Standards' emphasis on scientific collection and analysis of data and evidence-based theories, this book will help students understand the observational evidence supporting the Big Bang theory and speculate on the ultimate fate of the universe it implies.

Download or read book Contraduction written by Dan Barker and published by Ockham Publishing Group. This book was released on 2024-09-03 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a quiet and unassuming way, Contraduction is utterly brilliant. Every page has a thought so deep and unexpected that it stops you in your tracks, as you not only realize, “That’s a different, really interesting way to think about the world, exactly the opposite of how I normally view things” but also, “And it is absolutely equally valid (and enriching) to adopt this opposite way of thinking.” I loved this book. — Robert Sapolsky, author of Behave and Determined. An ingenious word for an invaluable concept. Sharp, clear, and timely. — Steven Pinker, Johnstone Professor of Psychology, Harvard University, and the author of The Blank Slate and Rationality Both a delightful read and a penetrating argument: Barker has invented an invaluable new concept, and puts it to work with clarity, wit, and above all conclusiveness. A must-have book! — A. C. Grayling, author of The History of Philosophy and The God Argument I am completely down with the concept of contraduction. It fills a need. False pattern recognitions pose a real danger to our survival. Well done! — Ann Druyan, author (with Carl Sagan) of Cosmos, Contact, and Demon Haunted World I love it when brilliant ideas are conveyed clearly and soundly. That’s why I love this book. Dan Barker has provided a much-needed explication of a common fallacy that needs to be understood and rebutted. It is an engaging, enlightening, and insightful book.—Phil Zuckerman, author of Society Without God and What it Means to be Moral With Contraduction, Dan Barker gives us a new word—and a new way of looking at things. I thoroughly enjoyed this! So much to think about—and it made me laugh. What else could I ask for? — Kate Cohen, contributing columnist for the Washington Post and author of We of Little Faith I love how Dan Barker offers us a new word to help us understand how to think rationally in a fun, simple way. I will never look at my reflection in the mirror the same! — Bailey Harris, author of My Name is Stardust Barker has really created something mega with this book. WOW, what an absolutely awesome mind bender [mind fuck] contraductions are, while at the same time seeming very obvious. I give Contraduction 50 hell-yeahs! [fuck-yeahs!] (outta 50). — Zeke Piestrup, director of Apocalypse Later and Satan's Guide to the Bible Dan Barker's approach reminds me of Douglas Adams' famous Intelligent Design analogy about the rain puddle that "fits me rather neatly." A simple shift of perspective can be invaluable in our understanding, and Dan's fresh angle gives us plenty to consider. Simply put, I've never read anything quite like Contraduction, and that's a good thing. — Seth Andrews, Author of Deconverted: A Journey from Religion to Reason Contraduction is a delight and lights the way through complexity. Pound for pound, Dan Barker’s best book. — Ed Buckner, Author (with Michael Buckner) of In Freedom We Trust: An Atheist Guide to Religious Liberty A clarifying vision of the most baffling aspects of reality: from the simplest, such as our reflection in a mirror, to the most complex, such as time, evolution or the very existence of life. – Manel Salido, founder of "Razón o fe" and the author of ¡Fascinaos!: [Be Fascinated!] Una respuesta a las grandes preguntas.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Science of the Supernatural takes the findings of science and applies them to the doctrines of religion. It tells how the natural and the supernatural are just two different parts of the same real universe. It shows why the spiritual realm is unseen by us and yet is as real as the elements that make up the earth. It explains why we mortals canaEUR(tm)t see the spiritual realm, and yet, the spiritual realm can affect us.We can contact God and get answers and sometimes even get what are called miracles from him.It shows how creation came from what we call nothing and how the creation, as given in Genesis, is God organizing what is already there. It tells why the fall of Adam left us in such sad state and how it will be for our benefit in time. It explains how God works with this fallen world. And it explains how to not only search for God as so many do but how to actually find him.Marvelous and wonderful truths are found when the theories of science are applied to the doctrines and truths of religion. They fit together quite well.

Book Learning the ABCs

  • Publisher : Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2019-07-08
  • ISBN : 1644926679
  • Pages : 280 pages

Download or read book Learning the ABCs written by Rev. David M. Brown and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-07-08 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Learning the ABCs: Apologetics, the Bible, and Creation is a source of information that has taken the author nearly forty-four years to accumulate. The word apologetics comes from the Greek word apologia, which means "one capable of a strong defense." This book offers that ability to every reader, to become a strong defender. That strong defense is against those who would have us disbelieve in the Bible stories, events, prophecies, and overall accuracy of the Bible. Archaeology has progressed tremendously in the last seventy years, especially in the field of biblical archaeology. It's estimated that there are now over 6,500 discoveries in this field, verifying, illuminating, or bearing evidence for many of the people, places, stories, and events mentioned in the Bible. Yet when I ask most Christians to name three, they cannot. The same thing is now being found in science. There are vast amounts of discoveries, most coming from secular science, proving the fallibility and inaccuracies of evolution and the big bang. Tremendous evidence is coming forth in genetics proving dinosaurs are less than ten thousand years old, genetics proving man being here only about six to seven thousand years, that we didn't evolve from monkeys over millions of years, and more. Yet most Christians are not privy to this information. Hosea 4:6 says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." I find this true. Many cannot defend their Bible, nor lead others to believe in it. This book teaches how to witness and make disciples with valid evidences for the Bible, while tearing down the walls of evolution.

Book Genesis of the Big Bang

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ralph A. Alpher
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press
  • Release : 2001-02-08
  • ISBN : 0190283211
  • Pages : 224 pages

Download or read book Genesis of the Big Bang written by Ralph A. Alpher and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2001-02-08 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors of this volume have been intimately connected with the conception of the Big Bang model since 1947. Following the late George Gamow's ideas in 1942 and more particularly in 1946 that the early universe was an appropriate site for the synthesis of the elements, they became deeply involved in the question of cosmic nucleosynthesis and particularly the synthesis of the light elements. In the course of this work they developed a general relativistic model of the expanding universe with physics folded in, which led in a progressive, logical sequence to our prediction of the existence of a present cosmic background radiation some seventeen years before the observation of such radiation was reported by Penzias and Wilson. In addition, they carried out with James W. Follin, Jr., a detailed study of the physics of what was then considered to be the very early universe, starting a few seconds after the Big Bang, which still provides a methodology for studies of light element nucleosynthesis. Because of their involvement, they bring a personal perspective to the subject. They present a picture of what is now believed to be the state of knowledge about the evolution of the expanding universe and delineate the story of the development of the Big Bang model as they have seen and lived it from their own unique vantage point.

Book Cyber Society Big Data and Evaluation

Download or read book Cyber Society Big Data and Evaluation written by Gustav Jakob Petersson and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-07-12 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are living in a cyber society. Mobile devices, social media, the Internet, crime cameras, and other diverse sources can be pulled together to form massive datasets, known as big data, which make it possible to learn things we could not begin to comprehend otherwise. While private companies are using this macroscopic tool, policy-makers and evaluators have been slower to adopt big data to make and evaluate public policy. Cyber Society, Big Data, and Evaluation shows ways big data is now being used in policy evaluation and discusses how it will transform the role of evaluators in the future. Arguing that big data will play a permanent and growing role in policy evaluation, especially since results may be delivered almost in real time, the contributors declare that the evaluation community must rise to the challenge or risk being marginalized. This volume suggests that evaluators must redefine their tools in relation to big data, obtain competencies necessary to work with it, and collaborate with professionals already experienced in using big data. By adding evaluators' expertise, for example, in theory- driven evaluation, using repositories, making value judgements, and applying findings, policy-makers and evaluators can come to make better-informed decisions and policies.

Book A Little Book about the Big Bang

Download or read book A Little Book about the Big Bang written by Tony Rothman and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2022-03-01 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A concise introduction to the greatest questions of modern cosmology. What came before the big bang? How will the universe evolve into the future? Will there be a big crunch? Questions like these have no definitive answers, but there are many contending theories. In A Little Book about the Big Bang, physicist and writer Tony Rothman guides expert and uninitiated readers alike through the most compelling mysteries surrounding the nature and origin of the universe. Cosmologists are busy these days, actively researching dark energy, dark matter, and quantum gravity, all at the foundation of our understanding of space, time, and the laws governing the universe. Enlisting thoughtful analogies and a step-by-step approach, Rothman breaks down what is known and what isn’t and details the pioneering experimental techniques scientists are bringing to bear on riddles of nature at once utterly basic and stunningly complex. In Rothman’s telling, modern cosmology proves to be an intricate web of theoretical predictions confirmed by exquisitely precise observations, all of which make the theory of the big bang one of the most solid edifices ever constructed in the history of science. At the same time, Rothman is careful to distinguish established physics from speculation, and in doing so highlights current controversies and avenues of future exploration. The idea of the big bang is now almost a century old, yet with each new year comes a fresh enigma. That is scientific progress in a nutshell: every groundbreaking discovery, every creative explanation, provokes new and more fundamental questions. Rothman takes stock of what we have learned and encourages readers to ponder the mysteries to come.
