Book Universe Before the Big Bang

Download or read book Universe Before the Big Bang written by Prof. (Dr.) Jai Paul Dudeja and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2024-03-18 with total page 465 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most discussed topics among physicists, astronomers and cosmologists, is the origin of our universe. A number of theories have been put forward to explain the origin of the universe. Based on the evidence, the theory of Big Bang is widely accepted today. What is the Big Bang? Around 13.8 billion years ago, all the energy and the matter was compressed into a miniscule point. There was nothing else, no space or sky outside it. Everything was contained in that point. All at once, this point (which could not bear that high density and very high temperature), started expanding at an incredibly fast rate. In a split-second, it was the size of a grape, an instant later, a km-wide. Within a minute, it was billions of km-wide…and so on. Since then, the universe is not only expanding, it is expanding with faster speed as the time is passing. It's a mind-boggling question that has intrigued the scientists and the commoners alike for centuries is: “What was there before the Big Bang? Was there a universe or many more universes before our own universe? Will there be more universes after this universe? Are there parallel universes or cyclic universes? Was there just one big bang (that we know for this universe) or were there two or more big bangs? What are the theories which attempt to explain the phenomenon of the ‘Universe before the Big Bang’.

Download or read book Connecting Quarks with the Cosmos written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2003-03-12 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances made by physicists in understanding matter, space, and time and by astronomers in understanding the universe as a whole have closely intertwined the question being asked about the universe at its two extremesâ€"the very large and the very small. This report identifies 11 key questions that have a good chance to be answered in the next decade. It urges that a new research strategy be created that brings to bear the techniques of both astronomy and sub-atomic physics in a cross-disciplinary way to address these questions. The report presents seven recommendations to facilitate the necessary research and development coordination. These recommendations identify key priorities for future scientific projects critical for realizing these scientific opportunities.

Download or read book Dismantling the Big Bang written by Alex Williams and published by New Leaf Publishing Group. This book was released on 2005 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why did Ptolemy's theory cause problems for the church? What is the big secret concerning the "Age" of the earth? Why do many scientists reject the use of design in explaining origins? The seemingly absurd idea that all matter, energy, space, and time once exploded from a point of extreme density has captured the imagination of scientists and laypersons for decades. The big bang has provided a central teaching for the eons of time of "cosmic evolution", undermining the history and cosmology of the Bible. It is a theory that fails, even violating the very physical laws on which it is purportedly based. In this easy-to-read format, authors Alex Williams and John Hartnett explode this naturalistic explanation for the universe, and show that the biblical model provides a far better explanation of our origins. This fully indexed, illustrated analysis of the big bang theory is an invaluable help in understanding and countering a world view that is as chaotic and destructive as its name implies.

Book The Big Bang Explained

Download or read book The Big Bang Explained written by Megan Ansdell and published by Enslow Publishing, LLC. This book was released on 2018-07-15 with total page 83 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Big Bang theory describes the very beginnings of the universe, when it was infinitesimally small and infinitely dense, and follows its rapid expansion and evolution, from the formation of nuclei within the first few minutes to the creation of the first galaxies a billion years later. The Big Bang theory is a cornerstone of modern cosmology, and although astronomers cannot directly observe the birth of the universe, the theory is widely accepted because it makes concrete predictions of the current observable universe, which have been tested repeatedly with striking success. Supporting the Next Generation Science Standards' emphasis on scientific collection and analysis of data and evidence-based theories, this book will help students understand the observational evidence supporting the Big Bang theory and speculate on the ultimate fate of the universe it implies.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the story of the cosmic background radiation, the "afterglow" of the Big Bang in which the Universe was born. Fifteen billion years after the event, the afterglow still permeates all of space, making it the oldest relic in creation and providing an imprint of the Universe as it was in its infancy. But the most astonishing thing about the afterglow of creation is that it wasn't discovered until 1965, and then only by accident - despite the fact that it had been predicted in 1948 and the technology to detect it existed during World War II. Chown brilliantly weaves a tale of the search for the origins of the Universe. Beginning in the 1920s and culminating with the flight of the COBE satellite and what it found, this book uncovers the secrets of the Universe.

Book The Origins

    Book Details:
  • Author : Miles Augustus Navarr
  • Publisher : Xlibris Corporation
  • Release : 2024-02-13
  • ISBN : 1669890554
  • Pages : 184 pages

Download or read book The Origins written by Miles Augustus Navarr and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2024-02-13 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are many fundamental issues, whether scientific, cultural, religious, and even philosophical, that we accept as fact or truth, simply because our peers have done so. Our peers have been wrong before. For two thousand years Euclidean geometry and geo-centricity was the absolute truth in scientific and religious communities. Law of some of these issues concern the origins of our domain. Origin of the universe, origin of life on earth, origin of Homo-sapiens, origin of what we categorize as civilization and origin of religion, particularly monotheistic religions. This book has endeavored to investigate these five very fundamental issues, in simple and non-scientific language as far as conceivable. To most people, these subject matters have very little or no consequence in their daily lives, and for this reason they are not explored, nor merit any time contemplating. But they are so innate and engrained in our subconscious that most people must have pondered, reflected, or discussed one or more of these issues at least a few times in their lifetime. The remarkable fact is that despite their vital and elemental relevance, people simply accept and consent to what the authorities propagate. That maybe the most convenient approach, but none of the mainline theories, regardless of where they came from, Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, The Pope, Carl Sagan, Steven Hawking or any other scientists, philosophers or religious authorities are simply theories, not proven and thus still mysteries worth investigating. The book does not try to find answers. It simply investigates the flaws, inadequacies, and weaknesses in some of these theories and where possible, to explore other alternatives and options. The only purpose, and indeed hope in writing this book is to create a fertile domain in the mind of the readers, to ask question, albeit “The Right” questions. “Where there is consciousness, there is doubt.”

Book The Matchbox That Ate a Forty Ton Truck

Download or read book The Matchbox That Ate a Forty Ton Truck written by Marcus Chown and published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. This book was released on 2010-05-11 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Look around you. The reflection of your face in a window tells you about the most shocking discovery in the history of science: that at its deepest level the world is orchestrated by chance; that ultimately, things happen for no reason at all. The iron in a spot of blood on your finger shows you that somewhere out in space there is a furnace at a temperature of 4.5 billion degrees. Static on your TV screen proclaims that the universe had a beginning. The bulb above your head emits light, and the light waves emerging from it are about five thousand times bigger than the atoms that spit them out—as paradoxical a thought as the idea of a matchbox swallowing a forty-ton truck. Marcus Chown takes familiar features of the everyday world and shows us, with breathtaking clarity, wit, and suspense, how they can be used to explain profound truths about the ultimate nature of reality. This is an essential cosmology primer for anyone curious about their surroundings and their place in the universe.
