Book Simulation of Organizations an Annotated Bibliography

Download or read book Simulation of Organizations an Annotated Bibliography written by Jon E. Roeckelein and published by . This book was released on 1967 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bibliography contains 141 annotated references on the subject of the simulation of complex social organizations. It is part of a study whose goal is to determine the feasibility of using simulation methods to conduct research upon human factors that influence organizational effectiveness. It is divided into three principal areas: man-centered simulation, man-machine simulation, and machine-centered simulation. Within each of these areas, publications are separated into those directly concerned with the simulation of organizations, and those indirectly related to the subject. A general section covers reference works and bibliographies useful as source material. A KWIC index is provided. (Author).

Book Understanding Molecular Simulation

Download or read book Understanding Molecular Simulation written by Daan Frenkel and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2001-10-19 with total page 661 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Understanding Molecular Simulation: From Algorithms to Applications explains the physics behind the "recipes" of molecular simulation for materials science. Computer simulators are continuously confronted with questions concerning the choice of a particular technique for a given application. A wide variety of tools exist, so the choice of technique requires a good understanding of the basic principles. More importantly, such understanding may greatly improve the efficiency of a simulation program. The implementation of simulation methods is illustrated in pseudocodes and their practical use in the case studies used in the text. Since the first edition only five years ago, the simulation world has changed significantly -- current techniques have matured and new ones have appeared. This new edition deals with these new developments; in particular, there are sections on: Transition path sampling and diffusive barrier crossing to simulaterare events Dissipative particle dynamic as a course-grained simulation technique Novel schemes to compute the long-ranged forces Hamiltonian and non-Hamiltonian dynamics in the context constant-temperature and constant-pressure molecular dynamics simulations Multiple-time step algorithms as an alternative for constraints Defects in solids The pruned-enriched Rosenbluth sampling, recoil-growth, and concerted rotations for complex molecules Parallel tempering for glassy Hamiltonians Examples are included that highlight current applications and the codes of case studies are available on the World Wide Web. Several new examples have been added since the first edition to illustrate recent applications. Questions are included in this new edition. No prior knowledge of computer simulation is assumed.

Book Modelling and Simulation

    Book Details:
  • Author : Louis G. Birta
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2007-09-07
  • ISBN : 1846286212
  • Pages : 463 pages

Download or read book Modelling and Simulation written by Louis G. Birta and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-09-07 with total page 463 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a balanced and integrated presentation of modelling and simulation activity for both Discrete Event Dynamic Systems (DEDS) and Continuous Time Dynamic Systems (CYDS). The authors establish a clear distinction between the activity of modelling and that of simulation, maintaining this distinction throughout. The text offers a novel project-oriented approach for developing the modelling and simulation methodology, providing a solid basis for demonstrating the dependency of model structure and granularity on project goals. Comprehensive presentation of the verification and validation activities within the modelling and simulation context is also shown.
