Besides, policy issues such as those related to Indian economy and foreign relations have also been addressed so as to view the party and its ideology from a holistic perspective.

Analyzing the rise of this far-right party shows that it correlates with human rights violations especially in the context of the right of freedom of religion, as the BJP systematically agitates against religious minorities, such as Muslims, to win elections. Several factors are identified as crucial in the relationship between the BJP and religious human rights: The effectiveness of communal mobilization, dependent on international politics, development and transformations in society and the course of the party, either centrist-conservative or fascist, depending on its electoral success. A model that incorporates this logic shows several scenarios on how the future development may affect religious human rights. Complementing this first part based on literature of political science, a second part examines the logic using interviews conducted in India with Indian citizens. The model is largely confirmed by the interviews and extended by the factor that corruption is a new political buzzword in India that may contribute to the decline of communalism.
