Book Beyond the Box of Space and Time

Download or read book Beyond the Box of Space and Time written by Jim Raschick and published by . This book was released on 1914-07-21 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reach beyond space and time. Mingle the magic and wisdom of ancient societies with the hard science of modern quantum physics. Grasp the full depth of a many-dimensional instant universe described with geometry based on a world vision seen through the eyes of traditional cultures. The momentum of reality is in essence a "point of view" that includes all phenomenal objects and all forms of energy-as well as cognition, emotions, the laws of physics, the flow of time, the individuated self and causality. All of this exists, but in a much different fashion than how we typically understand it to be. However, it can be understood using a "different physics" based on ancient world views. "Beyond the Box of Space and Time" deconstructs physics as we know it, and then reassembles it as a new paradigm. The book, in three parts: PART I: THE ANCIENT COSMOS Recalling a lost tapestry of reality: The ancients called it a survival strategy, deep wisdom and a connection with the Earth. PART II: THE MIND AND PHYSICS Traversing the Shapes of Experience: Perception unfolding as a grand illusion; and thought forms framed as geometry. PART III: INSTANT PHYSICS Surveying a timeless universe: A radical new paradigm of physics based on conjoining geometry and ancient wisdom.

Book excerpt: Space and time has always been the great defining boundary of scientific understanding. This book takes you beyond that boundary by mingling the magic and wisdom from ancient societies with the hard science of today's technical world. It does this with a philosophical vision based on the world views of Native Americans, Neolithic Hawaiians, the original people of Tibet and the Buddha's teachings. This book asserts that modern science is incomplete and then posits, a ?theory of grand totality? that combines spirituality, quantum physics and philosophy. The premise is that all of the stuff of the world'according to our senses'is simply not there. It's only a point of view. The point of view includes all phenomenal objects and all forms of energy'as well as cognition, emotions, the laws of physics, the flow of time, the individuated self and causality. All of this exists, but in a much different fashion than how we typically understand. Beyond the Box of Space and Time deconstructs physics as we know it, and reassembles it as a new paradigm that includes the mind. Within it the flow of time is a 2000+ year old metric not based on the movement of the stars or planets.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Opera Outside the Box: Notions of Opera in Nineteenth-Century Britain addresses operatic “experiences” outside the opera houses of Britain during the nineteenth century. The essays adopt a variety of perspectives exploring the processes through which opera and ideas about opera were cultivated and disseminated, by examining opera-related matters in publication and performance, in both musical and non-musical genres, outside the traditional approaches to transmission of operatic works and associated concepts. As a group, they exemplify the broad array of questions to be grappled with in seeking to identify commonalities that might shed light in new and imaginative ways on the experiences and manifestations of opera and notions of opera in Victorian Britain. In unpacking the significance, relevance, uses, and impacts of opera within British society, the collection seeks to enhance understanding of a few of the manifold ways in which the population learned about and experienced opera, how audiences and the broader public understood the genre and the aesthetics surrounding it, how familiarity with opera played out in British culture, and how British customs, values, and principles affected the genre of opera and perceptions of it.

Book Psychological Perspectives on Reality Consciousness and Paranormal Experience

Download or read book Psychological Perspectives on Reality Consciousness and Paranormal Experience written by Tony Jinks and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-10-03 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores various explanatory frameworks for paranormal encounters. It opens with the story of an inexplicable human figure seen crossing a secluded hotel corridor, interpreted as a ghost by the sole witness. The subsequent chapters explore the three most important historical perspectives accounting for this and other types of paranormal experience. Each perspective is examined from first principles, with specific reference to what happened in the corridor, how it happened, why it happened, and who might be responsible. The first perspective considers the experience to be legitimate – to be something real – and various possibilities are presented that are grounded in the paranormal and parapsychological literature, among which a “ghost” is one putative explanation. In turn, the second perspective treats the experience as being wholly illegitimate. With reference to psychological theory, the ghost sighting is a product of erroneous consciousness. The third perspective is different yet again, and considers the sighting to be authentic, but argues that explaining the ghost requires a radical departure from conventional models of reality and consciousness. By contrasting these three paths, the book provides a valuable resource for readers interested in the philosophical and psychological origins of explanations for paranormal experiences, from the 19th century to the present. It will appeal to general readers in addition to students and scholars of parapsychology, anomalistic psychology, and consciousness studies.

Book Stars on the Earth

Book excerpt: Discover the wonderful secret the Earth holds for us-that the stars of the galaxy live on our planet. Holograms of high-magnitude stars over holy mountains. Physical travel to other planets through stargates on the Earth's surface. Near instantaneous transportation across the planet through quick-way portals. Outrageous science fiction or sober geomantic fact? Earth Mysteries researcher Richard Leviton takes you on a wild tour of three geomantic features of our planet and reveals that what science fiction has dreamed the Earth in fact offers us. Stars on the Earth combines scholarship, clairvoyance, and field experience with the latest discoveries of geology and astrophysics and the timeless insights of the world's myths to open the planetary door to the stars. It's all part of the Earth's unsuspected but staggeringly rich endowment as a designer planet. Our planet was precisely designed and implemented for us, and it's equipped with a visionary geography that mirrors features of the galaxy and Heavens. Why are so many of the Earth's mountains said to be holy, producing visions and encounters with the "gods?" They all have canopies of light called domes, each transmitting the presence of a galactic star. What is the geomantic origin of the Bermuda Triangle? Two dysfunctional stargates. If working properly, they and the Earth's other two million stargates could transport us rapidly to other planets. Is there a way to travel quickly across the planet without using cars, airplanes, boats, or trains? Yes, and it's called a traversable wormhole, and the Earth has thousands of them awaiting our discovery and use. Come join the tour of a planet you've never seen before: our own star-infused Earth.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Like Einstein’s theory of relativity, Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle, the Schrodinger’s wave equation is fascinating inquisitive minds and physics lovers for long time. As physics goes deeper and deeper, more questions are coming out. The dark energy, antimatter, parallel universe, quantum entanglement etc are complicated physics for common man. But physics and poetry, both are inner and deeper expression, explanation of nature. Physics and poetry are complementary to each other. Neither physics can explain everything about nature, truth, and reality nor poetry can describe nature, truth, and reality through our emotions. Since beginning of modern poetry, a few scientists and science students are writing poetry to enrich literature world. When the Nobel Prize for physics for the year 2022 was given to physicists for experiments on quantum physics, it encouraged me for fusion of physics and poetry and write this book “Schrodinger’s Cat”. The sudden departure of my beloved wife from this planet also pushed me to emotional heights and forced me to take refuse in poetry. We hope, one day physics will find out God equation and fundamental truth why and how the universe came in to being, what is the purpose of existence of our universe, and our lives. Whether the universe came from something or nothing, the big bang or no big bang, and its reality or illusion in the domain of time, every truth will come out, but I may not be in the domain of time. This poetry book is composed to explain nature and physics in a simple poetic way for everyone, as majority of people think, neither physics nor poetry their cup of tea. When physics becomes hazy, poetry can speak in its own way about nature and reality. This book is also an attempt for fusion of physics with poetry or fusion of poetry with physics.

Book excerpt: As he trudges through his wealthy yet introverted life, Thomas Silva has carefully managed to compensate through the years for his lack of human connection by monetarily helping struggling members of his community, but this impersonal and unorthodox method of getting by is beginning to lose its effectiveness and is no longer serving its purpose. A less-than-social childhood fused together with a fair share of uncertainty from his past has unfortunately carried on to Thomas' adult life, making him the reclusive person he is now. It's not until he experiences a series of life-changing events that Thomas begins to consider a serious and much-needed change in perspective towards his unfulfilling life. A Vacant Space is about one's lonely journey through existence as merely a passive spectator in the volatile game of life; a lonely journey that desperately needs to begin onto another path anew. It's never too late to start a new beginning, even if you feel you are already so close to the end.

Book Priority Nominalism

Download or read book Priority Nominalism written by Guido Imaguire and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-08-06 with total page 187 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph details a new solution to an old problem of metaphysics. It presents an improved version of Ostrich Nominalism to solve the Problem of Universals. This innovative approach allows one to resolve the different formulations of the Problem, which represents an important meta-metaphysical achievement. In order to accomplish this ambitious task, the author appeals to the notion and logic of ontological grounding. Instead of defending Quine’s original principle of ontological commitment, he proposes the principle of grounded ontological commitment. This represents an entirely new application of grounding. Some metaphysicians regard Ostrich Nominalism as a rejection of the problem rather than a proper solution to it. To counter this, the author presents solutions for each of the formulations. These include: the problem of predication, the problem of abstract reference, and the One Over Many as well as the Many Over One and the Similar but Different variants. This book will appeal to anyone interested in contemporary metaphysics. It will also serve as an ideal resource to scholars working on the history of philosophy. Many will recognize in the solution insights resembling those of traditional philosophers, especially of the Middle Ages.

Book excerpt: The book seeks to bring out the underlying relationship between physical reality and the Ultimate Reality. It describes man’s quest for Reality and how It reveals itself through: a) spiritual evolution, including ancient Seers who have passed down through the ages what they had seen and heard in a subtler dimension while engaged in their austere spiritual practices; b) the wonders of Creation to those who go beyond mere appreciation of nature’s beauty; it's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see; c) a succession of Saints and Holy Men, whose clear demonstration of Divine qualities reveals a higher Reality; d) modern science’s discovery of a new physical reality that points to the existence of an Ultimate Reality; ironically, the same science that once denied God is now strengthening mankind's belief in a 'Supreme Being’; e) the role of Consciousness in creating physical reality. Man is realizing that Consciousness is the unchanging basis of this ever changing Universe. Science is changing western thinking to converge with the revelations of the ancient Seers. Consciousness is therefore no longer associated with the human mind but with Divinity. From here on, Nature, Man and God all seem to converge.
