This book was released on 2015-06-19 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Institution of Marriage: Betrayal of Sacred Trust," unveils the lives of women who have made the decision to remain in marriages where there have been evidences of adultery. It uncovers the consequences of adultery, and describes the challenges faced by wives who remain with their unfaithful husbands. Although the book does not whip the perpetrators of adultery, it gives a view of what life is like for those wives who have made the sacrifice to remain in a situation, which is damaging to their health, emotions, spirit, and mind. It is a book for women, about women. Even if a woman has not had this experience, there are other situations just as painful as infidelity. Therefore, the book is about my life, your life, and the lives of every woman who has a story to tell. Sadly, despite the reasons why the women remained with their spouses and the vast amount of literature that exist about divorce, many studies have not explored deeply into the incidence of infidelity, and the reasons why some wives remain with their unfaithful husbands. This lack of interest into such a critical area of women's affairs casts a dark shadow on the advocates for women's causes. Could it be that a message is being sent to those faithful wives that it is their choice to remain with their unfaithful husbands, or their situation is not important to be researched? Let us hope this is not the case. Dr. Stuart is an Ordained Minister, Christian Educator, and Licensed Pastoral Counsellor. She is Founder of Faith Restoration Ministries International [FRMI] www.frministry.org & Christian Education Institute [CEI] www.frbi.org She holds programs on the Internet on Blog Talk and Talkshoe Radios. Book Sacred Trust Betrayed

Download or read book Sacred Trust Betrayed written by Nicole M. Roberson and published by Victory Graphics & Media. This book was released on 2008-03 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many adoptive children often fear the possibility of an ongoing cycle of rejection, abandonment, and perhaps, betrayal. The fear of the unknown resides deep in the heart of any child living with unpredictable, unstable caregivers that yield to harmful impulsivity and atrocious activities such as sexual perversion. On March 11, 1983, permanent custody was granted to veiled faces sworn to provide safety, protection, and spiritual covering to my delicate life. Very rare and abnormal circumstances occurred in my adoptive home. A secret mask held by a conventional family who appeared to follow accepted customs and standards of a traditional Christian home, will be uncovered. I will take you on a journey through the primal betrayal I overcame and defeated by the Lord's grace and love - a journey that describes the betrayal's imposing thrust upon my life. Sacred Trust Betrayed, occurred during my early childhood as it does for most abused children. My earnest prayer is that church leaders, social service workers, therapists, teachers, parents and everyone who has a direct impact in any child's life will be motivated to gain a greater awareness of those who prey on female children.

Download or read book A Sacred Trust written by Michael D Callahan and published by Liverpool University Press. This book was released on 2004-09-29 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second volume explains how the League of Nations mandates system fused two of the predominant and compelling global forces of the twentieth century: imperialism and Wilsonian internationalism. After the First World War, Britain and France administered most of Germany's former tropical African colonies as "mandates" under the supervision of the League as "a sacred trust of civilization." This system of international trusteeship changed British and French rule in Africa. In short, "mandates" were not "colonies." Mandates meant less militarism, more commercial equality, a greater emphasis on the interests of Africans, and an end to the extension of European national sovereignty over colonized peoples. Accountability to the League also required the British and French to reconsider traditional economic, strategic, and ideological assumptions about their empires. In the process, the "sacred trust" sowed the seeds of self-doubt about the very purpose and future of European imperialism. The mandates system continued to represent a genuine internationalisation and reformation of colonialism and had long-term economic, political, and cultural consequences for Africans and Europeans within the mandated territories. Despite the Depression, repeated Anglo-French foreign policy failures, growing humiliations for Geneva, and war in Africa and Europe, the principles and practices of international trusteeship proved persistent. Mandates demonstrated the relevance of international law, the importance of the League of Nations, and the impact of Wilsonian principles on international relations and European imperialism.

Book Sex Lies and Rabbis Breaking a Sacred Trust

Download or read book Sex Lies and Rabbis Breaking a Sacred Trust written by Charlotte Rolnick Schwab and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2003-07-08 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sex, Lies, and Rabbis: Breaking a Sacred Trust by Charlotte Rolnick Schwab, Ph.D. is a powerful book, a combination of memoir and nonfiction, about what happens when clergy, specifically, rabbis, are deified. It is about the betrayal and the cover up of the betrayal of teen aged girls and women by male rabbis, and thereby, the betrayal of these rabbis wives, families, congregations, communities, denominations, and all Judaism. Two murders are connected to rabbis sexual abuse. One rabbi is awaiting retrial for allegedly hiring a hit man to murder his wife because of his sexual misconduct. This author writes about her own frightening, shocking experience as the wife of a rabbi-perpetrator of sexual abuse of other women, his violence toward her, and threat to kill her if she told about his nefarious double life. The book delineates in one volume: the crisis in the rabbinate, in congregational Judaism; what needs to be done to bring about healing and change; gives description of cases of rabbis sexual abuse as told to the author (these cases are all composites; the victims/survivors identities are disguised), and as reported in the media, including the two murders related to rabbis sexual abuse; the alarming extent of this problem; outlines policies that synagogues and denominations need to adopt; provides definitions of sexual abuse; discusses the kinds of personalities of rabbis which can lead to rabbis becoming sexual predators; and offers some suggestions for prevention. The book offers a Resources List and extensive Bibliography, including articles from Jewish and secular newspapers around the country, about rabbis sexual abuse. The book provides a healing program geared toward Jewish victims/survivors or rabbis sexual abuse; it can be adapted for victims/survivors of abuse by other clergy and of other kinds of abuse, including abuse by batterers. Women who suffered abuse of any kind will find this book validating and helpful for healing and recovery. "12 Steppers" will be especially interested in this book. The book is helpful to people of all religions who are experiencing the crisis of their religious authorities sexual abuse and covering up of that abuse, including Buddhists, Catholics, and Protestants. It is an urgent read for all Jewish people concerned about the safety of their teen aged children and women, and about the future of their religious organizations and communities. Books have been written about Catholic priests and Protestant ministers and sexual abuse; this is the first about rabbis sexual abuse. Rabbis Arthur Gross-Schaefer and Marcia Zimmerman, and Rev. Nils Friberg praise the book on the book jacket. Maj-Britt Rosenbaum, MD, psychiatrist and former Director of the Long Island Hillside Medical Center Sexuality Center, wrote the Preface. Gary Schoener, Ph.D., clinical psychologist, who treat both clergy-perpetrators and victims, wrote the Foreword.
