Download or read book Sanathana Sarathi English Volume 07 2012 2021 written by Sri Sathya Sai Media Centre and published by Sri Sathya Sai Media Centre . This book was released on 2022-11-12 with total page 4302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Started in 1958, Sanathana Sarathi is a monthly magazine devoted to Sathya (Truth), Dharma (Righteousness), Shanti (Peace) and Prema (Love) - the four cardinal principles of Bhagawan Baba's philosophy. It is published from Prasanthi Nilayam (the Abode of Highest Peace) and acts as a mouthpiece of Baba's Ashram as it speaks of the important events that take place in His sacred Abode, besides carrying Divine Messages conveyed through Divine Discourses of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The word meaning of Sanathana Sarathi is the 'Eternal Charioteer'. It signifies the presence of the Lord in every being as the atma guiding their lives like a charioteer. It implies that he who places his life, the body being likened to a chariot, in an attitude of surrender in the hands of the Lord, will be taken care of by the Lord even as a charioteer would take the occupant of his chariot safely to its destination. The magazine is an instrument to disseminate spiritual knowledge for the moral, physical and mental uplift of humanity without any discrimination as the subject matter discussed therein is always of common interest and of universal appeal. The fifteen Vahinis - streams of sacredness - known as the Vahini Series comprising annotation and interpretation of the Upanishads and other scriptures, Itihasas like the Ramayana, the Bhagavatha and the Mahabharata, and authentic explanations on Dhyana, Dharma, Prema, etc., have been serially published in this magazine as and when they emanated from the Divine pen of Bhagawan Baba. This magazine is published in almost all Indian languages, English and Telugu from Prasanthi Nilayam and others from respective regions. Every year Sanathana Sarathi comes out with a special issue in November commemorating the Divine Birthday. The English and Telugu magazines are posted on the 10th and 23rd respectively, of every month, from Prasanthi Nilayam. This magazine has wide, ever increasing circulation in India as well as abroad, as the study of it brings the reader closer to the philosophy of the Avatar in simple understandable language THUS SPAKE SAI... Discoursing during the launch of Sanathana Sarathi... From this day, our Sanathana Sarathi will lead to victory the cohorts of truth - the Vedas, the Sastras and similar scriptures of all faiths, against the forces of the ego such as injustice, falsehood, immorality and cruelty. This is the reason why it has emerged. This Sarathi will fight in order to establish world prosperity. It is bound to sound the paean of triumph when universal Ananda is achieved.

Download or read book We Were Not Armed written by Christine de Vedrines and published by eBook Partnership. This book was released on 2015-04-16 with total page 269 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the story of how a family can be destroyed by a chain of events that begin when one member puts her trust in a conman. At the beginning of the 21st century, the de Vedrines were an ancient aristocratic Bordeaux family, educated and socially established. From the outside they had everything they could have wished for - wealth, love, friends, education and family. But the very closeness and trust they had with each other ended up splitting them apart. Exploiting a mix of family pride, historic roots, and personal identity, an outsider - a criminal called Thierry Tilly - stripped the family over ten years of their houses, their money and their personal dignity. It took the courage of Christine de Vedrines to break away from Tilly's iron grip. Her story of how she did that is simply told but moving and sometimes almost unbearable.
Download or read book The Principle of the New Era in Galatians written by Ho-Hyung Cho and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2023-05-11 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is placed within broader scholarship's trajectory by explaining that νόμος in Gal 6:2 refers to "principle," unwritten law, rather than written law such as the Mosaic law and another law. Because νόμος diachronically and synchronically had various meanings in history, the context in which it is found is significant. Given the context of Galatians, while Paul negatively depicts νόμος as the written Mosaic law throughout the letter, he positively uses it as a device for striking the ears of the Galatians in the verse. Remarkably, 6:2 is in 5:13--6:10 called paraenesis, namely, exhortations that they should perform with the Christian principle of life made by the Spirit. Being led by the Spirit is the sine qua non for believers in Christ. All indications surrounding 6:2 show that the phrase, ὁ νόμος τοῦ Χριστοῦ in 6:2 means "the principle created by Christ," that is, "keeping in step with the Spirit." This principle results from the new era inaugurated by the crucified and risen Christ. In 6:2 Paul exhorts the people of the new era to conform to the new era's principle created by Christ.
Download or read book Delta Fragments written by John O. Hodges and published by Univ. of Tennessee Press. This book was released on 2013-07-30 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The son of black sharecroppers, John Oliver Hodges attended segregated schools in Greenwood, Mississippi, in the 1950s and ’60s, worked in plantation cotton fields, and eventually left the region to earn multiple degrees and become a tenured university professor. Both poignant and thought provoking, Delta Fragments is Hodges’s autobiographical journey back to the land of his birth. Brimming with vivid memories of family life, childhood friendships, the quest for knowledge, and the often brutal injustices of the Jim Crow South, it also offers an insightful meditation on the present state of race relations in America. Hodges has structured the book as a series of brief but revealing vignettes grouped into two main sections. In part 1, “Learning,” he introduces us to the town of Greenwood and to his parents, sister, and myriad aunts, uncles, cousins, teachers, and schoolmates. He tells stories of growing up on a plantation, dancing in smoky juke joints, playing sandlot football and baseball, journeying to the West Coast as a nineteen-year-old to meet the biological father he never knew while growing up, and leaving family and friends to attend Morehouse College in Atlanta. In part 2, “Reflecting,” he connects his firsthand experience with broader themes: the civil rights movement, Delta blues, black folkways, gambling in Mississippi, the vital role of religion in the African American community, and the perplexing problems of poverty, crime, and an underfunded educational system that still challenge black and white citizens of the Delta. Whether recalling the assassination of Medgar Evers (whom he knew personally), the dynamism of an African American church service, or the joys of reconnecting with old friends at a biennial class reunion, Hodges writes with a rare combination of humor, compassion, and—when describing the injustices that were all too frequently inflicted on him and his contemporaries—righteous anger. But his ultimate goal, he contends, is not to close doors but to open them: to inspire dialogue, to start a conversation, “to be provocative without being insistent or definitive.”
