Dr. Keith brings his experience with family, students, great mentors, and friends to bear on a subject that is crying out for attention. Equally, he brings his Christian faith, a scholarly eye for detail, and an ear for story along on the journey and works with the reader to navigate a path to a better country where the Father blesses His children and is honored. Forgiven fathers are a gift from God, for they have the gospel to proclaim to their families. Book Man on Purpose

Download or read book Man on Purpose written by David Johnson and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-10-11 with total page 83 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When the first man Adam heard the voice of God walking through the Garden of Eden, he hid himself. The Bible says that he hid himself because he was naked. To uncover a good application, let's examine the word naked. May I suggest that he hid himself because he was unprepared, misinformed, or simply not ready? He was perhaps (as are many men today) not in place nor proper form. He was not dressed. He was not adorned with a sense of power or purpose. He had no strength or motivation! Perhaps he was in a position of authority, but powerless to perform the expectations and duties of the position he held. He was supposed to make things better, but he made a mess of almost everything he touched, because he did not understand his purpose! He did not understand his relationship to what he touched, nor did he understand himself. Adam hid himself then, as many men hid themselves today. Adam was not functioning according to his created purpose. What was his created purpose and why did he cover himself with fig leaves? I will answer the question of his created purpose directly in chapter 3 of this book. For now, let's talk about the fig leaves. Today's man covers himself with fig leaves called crime; theft, murder, rape, and domestic violence to name a few. They end up incarcerated, imprisoned, and extricated from the place of purpose! Today's man hides from child support or they hide themselves from the child and family altogether! Some become career criminals, effectively wasting their lives away. All too often, men seem to seek and discover ways to be absent. When he does not fix the problem, the problem fixes him. What he will not control begins to control him. What he refuses to master now masters him, and thus begins the societal reality and the sad plight of fatherless young men. Women are left alone to rear and train and to raise them! God asked the question, "Adam, where art thou?" So with the same intention of calling men out of obscurity and into accountability and presence, I now also ask, "Men, where are you?"

Book The 80 20 Principle Third Edition

Download or read book The 80 20 Principle Third Edition written by Richard Koch and published by Crown Currency. This book was released on 2011-11-09 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Be more effective with less effort by learning how to identify and leverage the 80/20 principle: that 80 percent of all our results in business and in life stem from a mere 20 percent of our efforts. The 80/20 principle is one of the great secrets of highly effective people and organizations. Did you know, for example, that 20 percent of customers account for 80 percent of revenues? That 20 percent of our time accounts for 80 percent of the work we accomplish? The 80/20 Principle shows how we can achieve much more with much less effort, time, and resources, simply by identifying and focusing our efforts on the 20 percent that really counts. Although the 80/20 principle has long influenced today's business world, author Richard Koch reveals how the principle works and shows how we can use it in a systematic and practical way to vastly increase our effectiveness, and improve our careers and our companies. The unspoken corollary to the 80/20 principle is that little of what we spend our time on actually counts. But by concentrating on those things that do, we can unlock the enormous potential of the magic 20 percent, and transform our effectiveness in our jobs, our careers, our businesses, and our lives.

Book Being a Good Husband and Father

Download or read book Being a Good Husband and Father written by Lexington Nyama and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2017-12-08 with total page 83 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an educational book for those who are in a relationship, whether they are married or not. As long as they are in a relationship, they need to know about these things; also it is not only for men but also for females because some women have no idea what to expect from their man. This will help them find a basic foundation of what to expect from their man, as this also helps man to know what to do for their woman. If relationships are not solved and if people are not educated about relationships, this world will never be at peace because it is all because of relationships. We have all these problems we are facing nowadays, as the worlds problem started with two people who were in a relationship, which was written in the Bible. If they both knew what their responsibilities were in their relationship, the woman would have not gone and searched for food while the man was home sitting. I believe that if couples could know what they are supposed to do and what they are not supposed to do in relationship, we will make the world a better place to live.

Book How to Be a Good Husband

Download or read book How to Be a Good Husband written by Bodleian Library and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The art of being a good husband is not an easy one. This little guide was written for the middle classes of the 1930s who were reading one of the first modern self-help books. Illustrated with contemporary line-drawings, it contains advice by turns delightfully arcane and timelessly true, for example:Don't squeeze the tube of toothpaste from the top instead of from the bottom. This is one of the small things of life that always irritates a careful wife.Don't think that your wife has placed waste-paper baskets in the rooms as ornaments.Don't tell your wife terminological inexactitudes, which are, in plain English, lies. A woman has wonderful intuition for spotting even minor departures from the truth.Do cultivate the habit of coming down to breakfast with a smile. Remember that as the head of the house, it is your duty to see that everyone starts the day in an atmosphere of happiness.Don't criticise the food at your own table when you are entertaining and especially refrain from doing so before the servants.

Book A Better Man Husband Father

Download or read book A Better Man Husband Father written by Joe Miller and published by . This book was released on 2015-06-11 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Better Man, Husband, Father is a book to help men to recognize their yearnings to be better as men, to be a better husband, and to be a better father. This book will help them grasp the idea that becoming a better man is a life-long process. A Better Man, Husband, Father is a collection of short stories from the author's life that all tie into lessons he's learned throughout his lifetime. These lessons focus on how to become a better man, a better husband, and a better father, while also each possessing the underlining theme of how to become a better Christ-follower. It's a book with short, easily read articles of everyday life situations. Those situations affect many of us in our relationships, including our relationship with God. Living as a follower of Christ is not always easy. Our character is who we are. Character is not only who we are, but what others see of us. Look at the Bible as a love letter. We can never change our past. We can only change our future.

Book The Good Dad

Download or read book The Good Dad written by Jim Daly and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2014-04-22 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It’s never too late to be a better father Jim Daly, president and CEO of Focus on the Family, is an expert in fatherhood—in part because his own "fathers" failed him so badly. His biological dad was an alcoholic. His stepfather deserted him. His foster father accused Jim of trying to kill him. All were out of Jim's life by the time he turned 13. Isn’t it odd—and reminiscent of the hand of God—that the director of the leading organization on family turned out to be a guy whose own background as a kid and son were pretty messed up? Or could it be that successful parenting is discovered not in the perfect, peaceful household but in the midst of battles and messy situations, where God must constantly be called to the scene? That is the mystery unraveled in this book. Using his own expertise, humor, and inexhaustible wealth of stories, Jim will show you that God can make you a good dad, a great dad, in spite of the way you’ve grown up and in spite of the mistakes you’ve made. Maybe even because of them. It’s not about becoming a perfect father. It’s about trying to become a better father, each and every day. It's about building relationships with your children through love, grace, patience, and fun—and helping them grow into the men and women they’re meant to be.

Book Charlotte Walsh Likes To Win

Download or read book Charlotte Walsh Likes To Win written by Jo Piazza and published by Simon & Schuster. This book was released on 2021-03-16 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From bestselling author Jo Piazza comes one of People’s “Best Summer Books,” a “comically accurate” (New York Post) novel about what happens when a woman wants it all—political power, marriage, and happiness. Charlotte Walsh is running for Senate in the most important race in the country during a midterm election that will decide the balance of power in Congress. Reeling from a presidential election that shocked and divided the country and inspired to make a difference, she’s left her high-powered job in Silicon Valley and returned, with her husband and three young daughters, to her downtrodden Pennsylvania hometown to run for office in the Rust Belt state. Once the campaign gets underway, Charlotte is blindsided by just how dirty her opponent is willing to fight, how harshly she is judged by the press and her peers, and how exhausting it becomes to navigate a marriage with an increasingly ambivalent and often resentful husband. When the opposition uncovers a secret that could threaten not just her campaign but everything Charlotte holds dear, she must decide just how badly she wants to win and at what cost. “The essential political novel for the 2018 midterms” (Salon), Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win is an insightful portrait of what it takes for a woman to run for national office in America today. In a dramatic political moment like no other with more women running for office than ever before, this searing, suspenseful story of political ambition, marriage, class, sexual politics, and infidelity is timely, engrossing, and perfect for readers on both sides of the aisle.

'Healing a Father Wound' was by far the most impactful and emotional section of any book I have ever read. I can't even describe how deeply this teaching affected me. The feeling of 'choked up' stayed throughout reading the section, and keeps coming back even now. I realized clearly how my own father wound has affected my entire life, and still does to this day. It also made me realize how the healing process is a daily reward to me and my boys, and so worth the effort. My heart was smiling while my eyes filled with tears. Awesome book!"
