Book NEW LIGHTS ON OLD PATHS 88 illustrated children s stories

This book was released on 2018-09-12 with total page 494 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Herein are 88 illustrated short stories for children with most of the stories suffixed by a moral. In this volume you will find stories like: The Innkeeper The Brook and the Waterwheel Crooked Horn and Old Brindle The Lark and the Whippoorwill The Weedy Farm The Learned Owl ….and many, many more. Even as long ago as 1888, Charles Foster believed that it is not new truths that we need, but the application of old ones to our daily life, which led to the title of this book. Even so, the stories are still fresh and engaging. Because they have 88 to choose from, you will find there will be at least a few stories each child falls in love with and goes back to time after time. To have compiled such a volume in the 1880’s is nothing short of amazing. That the stories are of such quality is testament to the efforts of Charles Foster and his publishing house. Book excerpt: ONCE upon a time, a long while ago-in fact long before Egypt had risen to power and before Rome or Greece had ever been heard of-and that was some time before you were born, you know-there was a king who reigned over a very large and powerful kingdom. Now this king was rather old, he had founded his kingdom himself, and he had reigned over it nine hundred and ninety-nine and a half years already. As I have said before, it was a very large kingdom, for it contained, among other things, the whole of the western half of the world. The rest of the world was divided into smaller kingdoms, and each kingdom was ruled over by separate princes, who, however, were none of them so old as Intafernes, as he was called.

Book excerpt: My Owl's Tale is a charming story about care, friendship, teamwork and a sense of belonging. Owl is feeling lonely. He is not flying. His friends notice and try to find the reason why. Owl tells Fox and he decides that Owl needs cheer-up. Fox starts a chain reaction among animals. Working together as a team they try to cheer up Owl, but it's not working. Finally a star gets involved shedding light and changing Owl's perspective, making him understand that he is not isolated, and in the end successfully overcoming it. Owls are amazing birds, one can't help but personify them. By writing and illustrating the story myself, I was hoping to ignite children's imagination, capture a fragment of nature's magic for it leaves me forever wonder-struck.
