Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most important characteristics of present day ontological research is the growing interest in, and emphasis on, the dynamic aspects of being and the process-relational character of being itself. However, many important questions still await detailed answers. For example, what is the meaning of the concepts of “dynamics,” “dynamicity,” and “dynamic ontology,” among others? Are they identical to, or similar with, respectively, “processes,” “process ontology,” “process-relational ontology”? Is “process ontology” a type of “dynamic ontology”? Dynamic Being: Essays in Process-Relational Ontology examines these and many other questions, and suggests fruitful approaches in dealing with such questions. The book carries out two main tasks: first, investigating developments in the theory of dynamic and process-relational ontologies, and, second, exploring developments in the application of these ontologies. The second task is multidisciplinary in character. The authors of the chapters in this volume are specialists not only in philosophy, but also in other fields of science, including psychology, biology, mathematics, logic, and computer science, their work providing a “seed-bed” of novel possibilities for cooperative interdisciplinary research.

Book Dynamic Products

Download or read book Dynamic Products written by Sara Colombo and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-06-16 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores how dynamic changes in products' sensory features can be used to convey information to the user in an effective and engaging way. The aim is to supply the reader with a clear understanding of an important emerging area of research and practice in product design, referred to as dynamic products, which is opening up new possibilities for the integration of product design with digital and smart technologies and offering an alternative to the use of digital interfaces. Dynamic products are artifacts displaying sensory characteristics – visual, tactile, auditory, or olfactory – that change in a proactive and reversible way over time, addressing one or more of the user's senses. The reader will learn why and how to communicate by means of such dynamic products. Their potential advantages and limitations are identified and design tools are proposed to support the design activity. It is hoped that the book will stimulate the design community to reflect upon the ever more compelling need to merge the virtual and the material in the information society by exploiting technological possibilities in order to create more meaningful and involving experiences.

Book In Defence of a Dynamic View of Reality

Download or read book In Defence of a Dynamic View of Reality written by Jerzy Gołosz and published by Wydawnictwo UJ. This book was released on 2022-04-14 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of papers defends a dynamic view of reality which is founded on the assumption of the objective existence of the flow of time. The vindication makes use of a metaphysical theory of the flow of time developed by the author which is based on the notion of dynamic existence. “The topics covered in the book are presented in an exhaustive and complete way. The defended position is presented in many aspects — ontological, methodological and scientific (physical). (…) It will certainly be a valuable contribution to the ongoing discussions on the passage of time, the problem of time asymmetry, and the relationship between the ontology of time and modern physics.” From the review by Prof. Tomasz Bigaj

Book God of Becoming and Relationship

Download or read book God of Becoming and Relationship written by Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson, DHL and published by Turner Publishing Company. This book was released on 2013-10-10 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You no longer have to choose between what you know and what you believe—an accessible introduction to a theological game-changer. "I wrote this book for you if you want to be able to locate your life in a single, encompassing story, one that includes everything from the first moment the universe began until yesterday, a narrative that embraces deepest personal meaning, a yearning to love and be loved, a quest for social justice and compassion." —from the Introduction Much of what you were told you should believe when you were younger forces you to choose between your spirit and your intellect, between science and religion, between morality and dogma: unchanging laws of nature vs. miracles that sound magical; a good God vs. the tragedies that strike all living creatures; a God who knows the future absolutely vs. an open future that you help to shape through your choices. This fascinating introduction to Process Theology from a Jewish perspective shows that these are false choices. Inspiring speaker, spiritual leader and philosopher Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson presents an overview of what Process Theology is and what it can mean for your spiritual life. He explains how Process Theology can break you free from the strictures of ancient Greek and medieval European philosophy, allowing you to see all creation not as this or that, us or them, but as related patterns of energy through which we connect to everything. Armed with Process insights and tools, you can break free from outdated religious dichotomies and affirm that your religiosity, your spirit, your mind and your ethics all strengthen and refine each other.
